They are certainly not ALL the same. In HI you will definitely need a rust and corrosion resistant cutter. This model comes with a 7 gauge deck and the entire cutter is hot zinc dipped for rust and corrosion protection.

I've pulling a lot of 2-4" trees out myself. The best strategy I've found so far is to wrap a chain around the trunk a foot or so above the ground and pull slowly from the draw-bar. Sometimes one will be stubborn but pulling in another direction will tame it. Just watch how long the chain is vs. how high the tree is so it doesn't come down on you!<br>

Thanks for the reply Oneace. The Squealer is a light duty cutter and I am wanting a heavy duty cutter. The Woods 600 Brush Bull is nearly double the weight of the Squealer. My preference is a rotary cutter with a 7 gauge deck and 1/4 inch or thicker side skirts. The Brush Bull has a 10 gauge deck the weight is near the max to put on a 4410. The Bush Hog 285 might be more in line with what I am thinking of but the Bush Hog 305 and Woods 6000 sure has the beef I am looking for. Can you give me some prices for these models your dealer carries? Thanks!

That is fine as long as you are not hauling heavy loads. P tires are not rated at the same gvw as Lt tires.

For my lights, I am using battery operated 1 million candlepower hand held light ($10) placed on a bracked I made from a square plastic container and ty-wraped to the
ROPS. Haven't had any problems with that contaption and it doesen't look bad.

I am using a 5 ft. rotary cutter on my L31302wd. Previously used it on my older tractor. The dim's(just went and checked) are 62-1/2" and the dim's for the outside to outside Tractor tires are 64". Approx weight is 700#'s.
Tracks very well and I use it to clip over 10 miles of 10 ft. wide fire lanes. And yes, can get up real close to field fence with a good close cut.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I trust what I CAN see and with the dealer knowing the situation and agreeing to what I do, feel that warranty will not be voided.
Have a great dealer, came up 15 miles picked my unit up after I had noticed a "hiccup" in the lift last week. Brought it back quikly too. Seems there was a small sliver of metal in one of the cylinders causing the leak down and thus the "hiccup".
Again, certainly appreciate the replies.

I did check ssb and cant remenber if they didnt have it or if they were the ones priced at $168.00, but I have one coming from a dealer in Ohio that a family member happens to be freinds with, so $108.00 is the price I finally paid. I went ahead and changed it using some guidance from the Ohio dealer and everything went off without a hitch. Thanks for the reccomendations.

Nice looking rig Vince. When looking at it the dealer told my oldest son and me how easy to put on/take off it was but before it goes back on the trailer I'll make sure we do it once just so I know for sure.

855 Work Light Kit part # BM17981, WORK LIGHT (REPLACES AM102724.

No price came up when I checked. Call your Deere dealer parts man and check. If you rig up a pig tail, you may be able to rig up dual work lights. I did this on my 4410. I checked with the dealer service tech before hooking them up to ensure the dash light switch would handle the load. Has so far for over a year.

I have a Cummins but I do all my own oil changes. That way I ensure a Fleetguard Stratapore filter and 12 qts. of good oil go back in the engine (use John Deere 15W-40 Plus 50 in Summer and Rotella T 5W-40 synthetic for winter). I also double verify the proper torque (37 ft./lbs.) on the oil pan drain plug is correct and retorque hot. I also let the truck set over night and drain. Half the cost of paying for it and I log the services in the owner's manual.

I was quoted a price of $2600 for the woods 5000. Would this be a fair price.I also heard of a Bearcat 73554,I guess it's similar but a better built machine. If anyone has used one I'd appreciate the info,I think I seen it priced at $3600.

There's a snow shed built over the trailer. It's pretty heavy duty and has a pretty steep slope.

Tom, I thought of playing with the tstat some, as it actually had some leeway available past the 50 degree mark, but I had no way to drop the temperature to test it. I was afraid of setting it too low.

So, I guess Ill deal with the extra hit on the utility bill for a few months.

Looks like Ill be putting a manufactured home on the kand in the spring anyways and getting rid of the trailer, so I guess I have some tiem to think about how to get it all right.

It really sucks that the government has so muych say so about what you can or can not put on your land. If I put the new home on the land, I have sixty days to get rid of the old. What the hell business is it of theirs anyways?

I went down to the building department today to pull a permit for a rewire job I'm doing on a duplex down here in LA. I've paid these things many times, but this is the first time that it hit me as to how ridiculous it is they charge us per outlet, switch etc..

I'm getting pretty sick of all these taxes disguised as fees. They tax everything you do. Soon they'll be counting how many times we breathe and tax us for that.

I'm really starting to understand the frustration of our forefathers that caused them to revolt against the crown.

It's all out of control anymore.
