Magnets work great. Bought a parts retriever - a stick with a 3" diameter magnet on the end - took the magnet off and built it into a mount. I need two hands to remove it. No holes, no marks, $8.00.

Is a Woods 5000 the same as the Bearcat 70554. They sure look the same and have similar specs. Want to buy one but no dealers in my area stock them. Any info would be helpful.

the 3-point hitch on my JD 955 compact won't go down after the engine is warm, even with the weight of a 72" belly mower on it. once the machine has cooled down it will drop normally.I've changed the hyd.fluid and tried adjusting the flow control valve. The JD dealer has no idea what's wrong. Can anyone help?

Turned out to be more tractor than I expected.
Haven't tried the dealers service - don't have an opinion about that YET.

1*Its enjoyable as heck to be able to use either one for the task at hand on the fly, the Cub is the mower and snow thrower. The Deere is the FEL, Tiller, and a lot more.

2*I would do it with one machine and you can. Think about not having two engines, space in the garage, attachments, maintenance, etc..

1*I have a wards 46" cut riding lawn tractor I use in the tighter places for the BX23 to get into. I also use it for towing a small lawn trailer which saves me from having to remove the Hoe from the bx23 to pull the trailer.
I have a Bolens garden tractor with a front blade and a tiller mounted on the rear.
By having the wards unit; again I don't have to remove the tiller off the Bolens to pull the trailer.

2*The way I'm set up with the Wards and Bolins tractors They can do many of the smaller task and it allows me to leave the FEL & Hoe on the BX23.
It's quite handy to get right on the job with out having to keep switching implements.
Space in the garage isn't an issue for me as I have 2 garages. One is a 4 stall and the other is a 6 stall garage.

My 2004 New Holland came with a 3 year warranty. 2 year bumper to bumper and the last year engine and transmission. Have it writing also.

My 3830 did that when it was new - dripping hydrolic fluid from a plate underneath. All the bolts were tight. The dealer pulled and resealed the plate at the 50 hr service and replaced the fluid I'd lost at no charge.

The Simplicity dealer here is the same Dealership that sold me my first tractor 38 years ago.<br>
It was a new 1966 Bolens 8.25 HP. Garden tractor.<br>
I still have it.<br>
The guy who owned the business retired a few years ago and turned the it over to his son who worked there with him all those years.<br>
This boy was only 2 years old when I bough the Bolens.<br>
These people have always been good to me and treated me right.<br>
If they were a Kubota Dealer I would have bought my BX 23 from them.<br>

Cheif: I've been using an MX5 Deere cutter on the 4310 and the 4410. In heavy first growth ditch work in the late spring it's a real load for the 4310, but the 4410 seems to have enough extra to not overload it. I'm afraid the six footer might be a bit much unless you went real slow. The MX5 is the only piece of Deere 3pt. that I own, every thing else is Land Pride except my Deere 48 hoe. Frank.

I probably put this in the wrong place, and if so I'll delete it. I'm wondering if anyone has ever inmstalled a 12v winch on their tractor and if so how did it work out? I worried about the amps it would pull and the affect if any on the charging system.<br>

Broken: I think I'll steer clear of the gender thing on hydros vs. gear being more for one gender than the other. My wife loves her 345 Deere hydro lawn tractors, she must she's got two of them. But on the other hand a good many years ago she spent many hours on "H" Farmslls and a "4010" Deere pulling a four bottom plow and both of them were far from hydros. The point being that most anybody can adapt to what they are given to operate if they have the desire to learn. Hydros have a definite place in lots of equipment, but I've never felt they earned their keep in a compact, just an expensive option that I don't need. For the last time I'll shut up om the subject. Frank.

1*I did not insure my new BX23.

1* Are you saying you didn't insure it with farm family or you did not insure it all period.

I had a rider added to my home owners policy that insures my new BX 23.
I didn't think 72 bucks a year was a bad premium

Art; I meant to say that I thought they were available thru Fleet store, TSC, type farm chain stores not TSC specificaly. I'll be the first to admit that I'm not real wild about Land Pride dull brown color, but have been real impressed with their quality, sorry if you misunderstood me. Frank.
