The super UDT is the oil to use and I think you would be fine with 15/40 in Ohio.

I took back the regular utd and traded it for the Super.
Glad I did the right thing.

I think Will use nothing but the KUBOTA super udt and their 15/40 oil

To bad your 706 is that worn out and well aware of the gas problem with them. The forward low and reverse of a 706 is simulair to the shuttle used on the NH only you don't need the clutch and it shuttles all the gears not just 8 as with your 706. You can also find the hydraulic shuttles on the full featured Kubota M-series tractors. They introduced shuttles to the industry back in the mid to late 80's. I would be looking at the M6800 model or the M8200 or even a M9000 model to replace the 706. They were an extremely well built tractor and we had many out pulling a five bottom 16" plow so don't go to light on the new one. I'd have to say a fairer comparison from deere to your 706 would come from the smaller 6000 series.

Grinder, we have universal cutting edges in various sizes and I've welded several at this point on three point blowers to asist them in scraping off blacktop and concrete driveways. It does make a good difference on the job they do on scraping hard pack especially with the top link extended a bit.

I have a John Deere LX 255 which I purchased in Oct 1999 along with a John Deere snow thrower. The equipment is garaged when not in use and the recommended lubrication and oil change, fuel filter, spark plug, etc, has been done ever spring. Used to mow about 1 1/4 acres of grass and the snow thrower has seen only one real bad winter with alot of snow (for Maryland). I am selling my place and have no use for this type of equipment and whant to sell it...how can I find out what a fair price is for such JD equipment?

I think I'm hauling my BX23 with as light a set-up as possible. Check out my Pix. The trailer is only 5 x 14 with a single 3500# axle and a surge brake on the tongue. I haul this around with my minivan without any problems although it does tend to slow a bit on steep or long hills. The aluminum trailer is light enough to roll around by hand when not in use and I have sides for it when I need a utility trailer.

I think the main thing to keep in mind in this whole discussion is that over time Kubota has changed and improved their hyd.system to accomadate new features on their implements.What works on one tractor does not work on another,depending on the hyd. system and controls.An example would be as follows.Snow throwers used to lift and lower using the 3point hitch.No need for aux.hyd.at all.Then they offered a front cylinder lift option that used the FEL control valve to operate the cylinder and the float position to allow the thrower to follow the ground.If you did not have an FEL you stuck with the 3point lift.Then they offered an optional chute rotation via. an hyd. motor that took advantage of a different control valve they had started using on the FEL.These changes were also reflected in other implements when they could be used.Just my observation.

Hi everybody, I am a UK smallholder (7 acres) with some lawn & a fairly large young woodland, with some muddy rutts etc on the land but no really steep slopes. <br>

I also wear a prosthetic right leg, so a tractor with right side pedals is not ideal for me. Can anybody recommend a medium sized tractor with hand contols and/or left foot systems ?? I can get things like my car altered to left foot controls but this is always expensive and I assume tractors will be also. I will mainly use the tractor for lawn mowing, mobility & also boring/transport for young trees & anything else that comes up. thnx for any help. steve

i would have too say the problem is in the fuse block its probaly under sized not the fuse but the block itself normaly an electrical part circuit or part of a circuit most always fails at the weakest point . as s chrand said the spade terminal can cause this i would replace all connections on the fuse block. keep in mind at times we have too increase the strength in one area too cause the problem too show up in the area that needs correcting. you can check the fuse block by taking a millivolt reading at the fuse block set the multimeter too milivolts take a reading between the line side and the load side of the fuse block it should not read more than .o99 any more than this is not exceptable if it reads more than that there is too much heat there caused by voltage drop. replace the fuse block you can also check the switch the same way. i hope this helps voltage drops are a leading cause of meltdowns a short will blow a fuse a drop increases heat and causes meltdowns. replacing the fuse block with a higher rated block should keep the fuse block / holder from melting

WHEN YOU PRESS DOWN ON THE BRAKES THERE IS A LEVER IN FRONT OF YOUR RIGHT KNEE. PULL UP ON IT AND IT LOCKS THE BRAKES INTO PLACE. TO RELEASE IT SIMPLY PRESS DOWN ON YOUR BRAKES.

Does anyony have an opinion about the quality, cost, part availability, etc of the subject snowblower?<br>
I'd like to get one but I'd also like to get some detail before any purchase. That I feel would be sparce coming from the dealer. It's to go on a 4WD 30HP 3cyl. diesel. Any insight would be helpful.<br>

Prices I got were:
2489 60" mower -- 2549 Tough Cut -- 3479 Versa-Loader

8517 for those 3 -- I didn't price the sweeper, but that price is right in line with what I got.

The Ventrac just seems more capable for more uses on hilly ground than a standard tractor.

Just found another tractor by accident, a bank repo. It is a 94 870 4x4 with a 440 loader. It has 1047 hours on it. What is a good dela on this'un? The front shhet metal is a little banged up. I will call them tomorrow it check it out. Good tractor? Good loader? I'm just like Sgt Shultzs, "I know NOTHING".<br>

Depending on how much you consider a 'bit more power' to be I would suggest a 2000/3000/3600 series Ford, there were a LOT of them sold as utility tractors in the 60's, 70's and into the 80's. Just about everyone had one for pulling wagons, haying, bush-hogging or blowing snow.

Depending on the usuals, age, size, condition, you could probably find a decent one for $5k - $8k.

They are about as dependable as gravity and cheap to run.
