Thanks for all the great advice, I'm digging in very sandy soil so it should be easy enough. I'll take your advice and pull the cable through pipe and then lay a tape above the pipe.

Interesting reading Grinder! Sometimes when traveling the countryside outside of our area I stop in to other dealers to see how sales people do there jobs. Some are quite shocking with lots of B.S.(wrong info) and quick to sell and some without the BS just good facts, some are quiet and you'd have to all most force them to sell it to you but seem to know the equipment.. I always hate it when someone recognizes me in the dealership! It's tough as every manufacturer wants the highest market share and attempt to force the dealer to get there's. There are market reports that tell them who's who with market share.

Jim, I took the time to drive the three that I have on the front yard and although they were tight they produced no jerk. When they went they took off quite smoothly. For some reason I don't think brakes should be on the left on any tractor as 99% plus of all tractors built have them on the right. Why confuse the users who have been using and driving normal farm tractors all there lives?

Thanks for the insights. Yes, I bought a 4310 with 420 ands 48 backhoe. Have had a few hours of experience and yes, it is a fine machine. I appreciate your sharing thoughts and experience.

This topic has come up several times on this board. My two cents is it�s a matter of dealers unable to compete with other dealers on the internet. The dealer has a choice to start selling country wide if they choose to do so. Currently Iam trying to make a deal with my local NH dealer. Tomorrow he will give me an offer. Yesterday the dealer did mention that he would NOT fully honor the NH warranty if I purchased the tractor from someone else. They will accept it, but who knows how long it will take or what might happen to the tractor. Bottom line for me is the sales price. The warranty is second on the priority list. Once I�m outside of the warranty period any shop will work on it including NH dealers. Another way to look at this is the jacked up price from the local dealer can be used later for repairs. So buy from the out of town guy and remember the savings which can be used for the out of warranty repairs.<br>
I prefer to buy from the local guy. I�m hoping the local guy can be competitive.<br>

Update: I received the price from the local dealer. The local dealer is 4000.00 <br>
dollars more than the internet dealer. I'm thinking if I should deal more with the local dealer. I cant imagine he will be competitive.

They do but you have to go to the B2910 to get them, I think one of the guys with B7800 retro fitted the B2910 ratchet lower arms to his B7800.

I just saw a Kubota B 2400 on a Ford 350 flat bed
truck.

The truck had dual wheels and the bed looked to be about 14 or 16 feet.

Thinking about buying on of the two mentioned tractors. The one thing I noticed is that the New Holland is 2000 dollars cheaper and I get an extra 3 hp out of the Boomer (2 hp at the PTO). The John Deere dealer is 20 minutes away and the NH dealer is 45 minutes away. The controls are almost identicle (i love the forward and reverse pedals and the breaks on one side, kubota definitely missing the boat here). What do you all think?<br>

Thank you everyone. I am going to try to run without chains at least the first couple of storms. I have a purchased couple of weights to counter the blade. I have a Toro snow-blower and a wench on the tractor if all else fails.

1*. Why haul around the trailer space when you don't need it?

2*I don't use my truck as a daily driver any more (86 VW Diesel Jetta for that!), but I could. You really can't use a 25' long, 20K GVW flatbed as a daily driver.

But my way of looking at it is why manhandle 2 vehicles around hauling the tractor if you can do it with just one? Why haul around the unused truck space?
2*IF I bought a trailer I would have to buy a truck to pull it with.
This truck would not be my daily driver either (I have 4 import pick ups for that)

What I'm looking at in my case is If I can buy a truck to haul the tractor somewhere at or near the cost of buying both a trailer and a tow vehicle then why fool with the trailer?

I can't help much with the Long tractor. When I was looking my local dealer didn't have those model in stock.

I ended up with the TC 30 9x3. The TC 29 will give you a little more loader capacity and the curved hood/loader arms. Could be a plus as its harder to see the bucket on the TC 30. I don't have the hoe yet, hopefully in the spring but you can use the same one on either tractor.

The TC 29 has a few more bells and whistles than the 30, but for me the price difference was the deciding factor plus it has slightly more PTO horsepower. Between those two, you'll need to try them out and see which one best fits you and your budget.
