I am in the market for a broadcast spreader for my BX1500. Everybody sells the "regular" size inverted conical type, but I am interested in a smaller version. So far, the only one I've found is a King Kutter XB sold through Tractor Supply Company. Are there any other choices out there for a 250# PTO driven unit?

I use a 6' box on my 24 pto hp tractor with unloaded turf tires. I like the 6" or so of blade that are outside the rear tires. It can be a bit traction challenged but the traction is manageable. I go lower and take smaller bites. I sometimes carry a load in the loader to increase front drive traction.

1stjds; Thanks for the compliment on all my toys, but in the real world they for the most part are part of the equipment for farm and field maintinence. the 48 hoe never comes off the 4310, it just seems like we use it almost daily for some small thing that if it weren't allready on a tractor you would'nt take time to mount it. We never seem to run out of field stones to dig out that we hit during spring and fall tillage, the 48 has dug out hundreds of them. Probably the most handy machine you have saw in my pictures is that old Clark forklift. I bought it quite a few years ago in an "As Is" condition, pump was shot, the ram leaked bad, etc. I'd be totaly lost without it now, for example we had a tire go flat on the rear axle of our 9610 Deere combine yesterday morning in the field. That old green hunk of cast iron lifted the rear of the combine, we blocked it up for safety and changed the tire right in the field. Back to the 48, stumps are a far greater challenge than rocks, rocks come out once they move, but stumps can have lots of roots going all over the place that can give you fits at times. At low Rpm's when the hydro is stressed it could cavitate in the pump and dry the hydro causing damage.

#1 diesel is not the same as kerosene. I just had 150 gallons of winterized diesel delivered to prepare for the upcoming rise in prices this winter. I specifically asked for the premium grade. It was explained to me that #1 diesel is in general is a high grade fuel. Meaning higher cetane and less sulfer. For the winter they then add 40% kerosene and additives (anti-gel). The farmers and heavy equipment operators have been swearing by this dealers fuel mixture for over 20 years now. I was told that #2 fuel is very close if not the same as heating oil and offroad diesel (has the red dye added).I only run the #1 premium grade. Injector and pump repair is just not worth the differnce.

We have sold 40 to 50 of those units with out a single complaint. They are very nice tractors. But the Kubota is nice too but it is all on what you like. just wait about One month and the TZ will have a backhoe too.

There is aways that chance but I think it would be unlikely and my guess would be that it will run just fine. I would suggest having the dealer hook up an implement such as a RRM to the tractor and go run the tractor around the dealer area at full pto rpm for about a half hour or so. This will put a significant load on pretty much everything and if there are problems; they would be most likely to show up during this test run. Be sure to cycle the hydraulic on the FEL and run the 4WD too. Any leaks would most likely show up here. Be sure to take a look at the oil and coolant in the radiatior afterwards to ensure all is well too. As soon as you get the tractor home, replace ALL the fluids and filters to establish a known maintenance baseline. The 790 is a road solid and bullet proof machine that is rarely prone to problems.

I am trying to decide about a finishing mower. I want a 72" but I can't decide on a side discharge or a rear discharge. I heard that a rear discharge may streak if the grass is too long and a side discharge may windrow. Also what brand? I am looking for a brand that is rugged and the cutting height is easily changed. I have looked at King Kutter that is a lot cheaper than a Bush Hog, Woods and Land Pride. I need advice. Is this a good time to buy? Are there any special now?

I have been quoted a price on a L-2800 (new) tractor of 10,000 and another 5,000 for a Bush Hog loader m246. I think the tractor is agood price but not sure about the loader. This is my first time buying a tractor.

Tom, The jerk is at any rpm, but the higher the rpm the stromger the jerk. It does it mostly in high. I cam be on level ground under no load on the drive and try to start out as slow a I can and it will still jerk when I start out. In low it has to be under when it jerks.

I remember that stuff and it sure was magic. I haven't done a carburetor rebuild in years and guess I depend on the engine tune up additive stuff that probably also doesn't really work. If I recall, the stuff we used to call varnish was the problem to remove. It's not really varnish of course but it does bring paint stripper to mind. I wouldn't use anything where I didn't know the effect on metal parts, but a mixture of methanol and lacquer thinner stripes varnish pretty well. Diesel fuel plus an air gun woirks pretty well for oil and dirt.

Can anyone tell me if there is a problem getting PTO attachments for the B6000 due to the counter clockwise rotation. I found a nice B6000 and I am concerned that this may be a problem. Any advice or help is greatly appreciated.

I am a NH dealer. Our contract says you will do warrenty work.Recalls are the selling dealer problem. We charge the non purchasing customer the difference between what warrenty pays us and what we would charge a regular customer. the tractors we sell we pay for some claims that are not warrenty or refused warrentyas customer care. We have no reason to do this on a non purchasing customer
