For those of us who do 'long distance' transactions, most people are unaware of all the 'special services' that the banks themselves offer these days.

The bank I deal with here in Canada for instance has a service where I can send money, in any currency I wish, to anyone with only their email address, the information, even if it got to the wrong person, would be useless since the only way to claim the money is to walk into a bank (smile, you're on CCTV) with proper ID to claim the cash.

Some of the credit card companies are also now offering 'secure transaction' systems, an interesting one I heard of recently was in conjunction with Western Union. You call your credit card company and they give you a user name & pin for a set amount of money. The recipient goes to the nearest WU office, shows ID and picks up the money, the name & PIN are then garbage to anyone else. Try as they may nothing more than that amount of money can be billed to your credit card.

I have a BX 1800 and the fuel gauge seems to start bounceing around a lot.I can have a 1/2 tank of fuel and it will drop to empty and stay there a while and then it comes back up to 1/2.I thought it might be a bad connection on a wire but on the gauge they look good.I can't even find the sending unit on the tank.It only has about 198 hrs so its still under warranty.But I was just wandering if anybody with the BX series had any problems with the fuel guage?

Anyone using Salsco Chippers? I've heard good things about them. Their web site is pretty impressive and I've received literature, jusst was wondering if anyone has an opions. I need something in the 6" capacity range.

The latest scam now I'm told is that the crooks have started companies that sound, or appear to be, escrow agents.

The way the scam works is they put up a product for a 'too good to be true' price, then tell the mark that they are as honest as the day is long and to prove it they say to send your money to this escrow company and when you have, and are completely satisfied with the product, call the escrow company and have the money released.

According to a friend in law enforcement a good-sized business here got taken for a LOT of money this way, they thought they were buying production machinery from a bankruptcy, in fact the scammer had taken pictures during a tour of the facility and the company was just under Chapter 11 protection, not bankrupt. The scammers had established a company name so close to the name of a genuine escrow agent that they din't catch the mistake till it was too late.

I'm told the simplest way to ensure you're not getting taken is to say you are driving to the seller to see it, pay for it, and pick it up. If it's a put-on, the seller will disappear faster than you could believe.

I've bought stuff off e-Bay that way, an honest seller will gladly meet you in the parking lot of Wally World or some such place.

About 2 months ago same happened to me with the 4310. Slight decline to left, raised bucket with dirt and I started going over. I thought it was too late - I dropped the bucket and fortunately recovered. I might have had the york rake on - not the backhoe as usual. But I think a lot had to do with raising that bucket up high. I think I forget how much the bucket shifts the center of gravity as it is raised up high when the ground is not perfectly level.

Let me preface this post first with a disclaimer that this is in no way shape or form meant to be politically incorrect, but rather an observation made first hand by my brother.
My brother does heating and AC work mainly on new houses down in the rich part of VA. These houses are in the millions. Anyway, they were putting in the duct work when a Mexican (roofer I think) came up to him and asked if they could have a piece of their GALVANIZED sheet metal. He gave them a piece and they proceeded to bend it and place it over top of a propane heater and heat up beans and some type of tortilla placed directly on the metal. My brother said the fumes off the metal was enough to gag you much less eat something off of it.

See my pics no.s 2 and 4 for how I mounted the SCV. I picked the loader tower because it made the PB circuit easy to plumb from the FEL valve. I dont have a picture of the bracket for the remote plugs, but it bolts to the rear axle housing flange on the right side. Holes in the flange are pre-drilled.

There is an excellent diagram of a Power Beyond Circuit on the Prince Hydraulics website. Go to the SCV valves, you will find typical PB circuit diagrams.

If I did it over, I would mount the SCV higher on the loader tower. I kept it low to make use of the weep hole in the tower without welding to the tower. The extension handle was easy to fabricate, but having the valves higher would be more convenient. The lower control handle I operate with my right foot. Let me know if you need any more infor on the PB circuit. It's pretty straight forward.

I just finished a bush hogging job for a neighbor. 13 acres not mowed for 2-5 years. Around a pond, creek, house, barn, steep hills. I used a bushog SQ84, 7 footer, for 25-45 HP tractors. Wouldn't want any wider but 2wd really limited me. Some places I just couldn't do wihtout 4x4. A lighter 4x4 would have been great. Hydrostatic would have made the job much easier.

New at this first time buyer needs advice

try taking the steering shaft apart. Mine did the same thing, and it was dirt in the bushing where it went through the instrument panel. I took the shaft out of the box, cleaned it and the bushing and greased it.

New Holland pay a flat rate for most repairs regardless of hour much time it actually does take. How they figure this time is by having there engineers come up with the most common problems and do a walk through of the repair 3 to 6 times some times more. Then they take the best time and that is what they pay. If you tear down and rebuild a tractor that many times in a row you are going to get pretty quick at it. Where as most dealers MIGHT run across that problem once a year.

The "plat" I refer to is a line drawn map showing individual property lines, pins, and lat/lon corrdinates for each individual property. My warranty deed references the plat. I don't/won't live in a sub-division :)

The plat does show an access easement.

Don't waste my money on an attorney to try and block him? or Don't waste my money on an attorney trying to get the land maintained? I think he has legal access... but he's also legally required to maintain his access.

Prescriptive easements vary by the state... In GA it's 5 years.

I'm a little disappointed in the finish of the NEF rifle. Was shooting when it was very humid, didn't clean or wipe it that same day and the black oxide finish has developed a little rust already where my hands contacted the steel.

I've found that you can't shoot anything but the Hornady brand of 17Mag if you want accuracy. If you shoot CCI hollow points point for instance they drift all over. If you shoot on a windy day, good luck! I may get an additional barrel later chambered in the 22Mag and compare.
