Boy's don't beat up on me to much for the statement about the MX and the L-series in two to four wheel drive. He has a larger loader if needed for heavy work. He also states he has a ZD for mowing so the tractor won't need to be used for that. The Mx properly ballasted for loader work on hard surfaces will work fine. The plus would be the bigger bush-hog for less time mowing. CT I'd be looking at the ballast on the 300. Those were built during what I call the hot-rod years and yours probably even has the swept back front axle for tighter turning meaning at that time they only took half the barn yard but with the right ballast people do get by with them.

I have seen it from the corporate side--which is just as bad or worse as the consumer side as far as responsibility goes. I sat in high level meetings with the top lawyers of the biggest of the Big-3 and it turned my stomach to hear the crassness and irresponsiblilty of their approach to safety, welfare, and legality toward their customers and of their products. Case in point: this company was and is still producing an option that is illegal to operate or even have in your car in 13 states. They didn't care. In fact they thumbed their nose at the law and said they would worry about it later. They just wanted to make a profit at any cost regardless of the consequences.

I can't really explain why the deer didn't eat them. I raised these at my parents' farm. The deer are rampant. But the vines did well early on and covered the garden plot the way they are supposed to, so the fruit was hidden. And the giant vines are thorny.

My little patch at my place got wiped out by deer immediately.

It'd be good to check code for the conduit. Here it's not required for branch circuits. When used, it can be left open at both ends and the conduit joints aren't glued. Most material is OK. The vertical sections from the trench do require conduit and it must rated for residential use. Frost loops in the bottom of the trench floor (likely around 2' deep with 6" of sand) may be needed. Mark the trench line using a laser level (conduit doesn't bend much). Don't dig from both ends without figuring out how to get the tractor off the trench--hope we aren't discouraging you too much.

I would like to express my $.02. Did you purchase the property with the driveway access already existing? The plat you refer too, is it a development plat (subdivision) on file at your county courthouse? If it shows an access easement and/or the access was there when you brought the property, the individual has the right of ingress/egress. If either of these are true don't waste you money on an attorney. Another tid-bit, normally prescriptive easements only become effective after 15 years of use.<br>

A deed of warranty doesn't always show all easements or right-or-ways. Attorney's are lazy and do not always do the needed research, or it was done by a legal assistant.<br>

I would suggest you contact your local Planning and Zoning department. They maybe able to force the individual to properly maintain his right-of-way. <br>

Crunch: Thanks for the reply. I've never heard of cleaning an oil burner chimney either--especially not annually.

We had one of those stainless chimneys too w/o an enclosure. It probably was a homegrown installation and not properly done--inadequate support of the base so the weight tore the t-section. The top-section apparently keep blowing off in storms and was left off and without a cap since new owners didn't use the basement wood stove. Weather and no cleaning apparently deteriorated the liner and the inspection/cleaner guy said he could clean it but it wouldn't pass inspection. Given replacement costs, it was goodbye wood stove, but life with the insurance company probably was easier--if that's possible.

Yours likely was properly done. The best thing I can say for ours is that it provided a convenient hole in the foundation when we installed a heat exchanger.

Do you have contractors insurance? Touch a phone line on a neighbors land and see if they are willing to take the rap from their homeowners insurance. Chances are they will blame you. Fall into or crush a drywell line...I try and explain this before I dig.<br>

R-U going to use a PTO pump for a hyd splitter? Or are you looking at a screwtype splitter?

At the moment my custom built splitter is run on the power beyond circuit. I have a 4 cyl diesel and am looking for the right price on a big 22+ gallon pump.

But am willing to part with the BIG diesel welder for the right price...

You stated it has a skid loader bucket on it and I would assume the quick-attach mounting plate is different than the stock. If the assembly, including the tooth bar is any heavier than the stock bucket assembly then you have to factor that extra weight into or from what it was rated for. Also skid loader buckets tend to be longer heeled which decreases breakout force as the leverage has increased. Add to that the added leverage of the teeth which decreases break-out force.

Tell this guy below that the tractor in the picture is pulling what they call a beach comber. It is a common machine we see on Myrtle Beach all the time. It is used to pick up trash on the sand.

I have heard everyone say that the HST holds its position on a slope when the pedal is released so you don't need to use the brakes. My 4310 slowly creeps on the hills so I have to use the brakes - which really requires a hard kick to be able to pull out the parking knob. Maybe that's because I have been using it almost full time in B drive. I'll give it a try with A Drive.

Although I haven't had to do it, I think generally it's just knocking out a freeze plug and replacing it with a heater, although some tractors have a threaded port for them. There is discussion in the archives but I don't know if any is about Cubs in particular.

I'd stick with factory parts but some people have had luck finding heaters of right diameter in auto stores at lower costs than factory parts. However, such a substitute has to be the right length as well. One that's too long may go against the interior water jacket. A substitute also should have similar wattage as a factory heater as well, although I think 250W is almost universal.

Beagle - I am a b7800 owner and am interested in installing a rear hydraulic (aka auxiliary hydraulic). I read in your post that you completed this task and was wondering if you could send me a picture of how you mounted the controller and the actual outlets. I am confused as to which lines to use coming from the hyd system and am a novice with this type of thing.

Also, I agree w/you on the 3 point operation. That is the thing that would make grading very nice but oh well it is still a very capable machine. Had a question for you about toe-in. I have not adjusted mine (or measured exact amount) but at first glance it appears excessive. Do you know the difference between the front of the tires vs. the rear of the tires??? I will measure mine and get back to you.

A model number would help but like the others said you mite want to check some easy things.
what color is smoke ?
Is that battery termials clean & battery charged?
fuel systems does not have moisture?
Pto switch is off ? fuel shut of solniod is working?
We are a Kubota Engine Dealer We also work on alot of these type of equipment . The list above are our most common when someone has your problem ,a weak battery will not roll engine fast enough, but will make you think its Good . Another things If you have ran it out of fuel before this you could have a loose part on you fuel system ,which is very common. like the guys said there is very little chance that all of this happend at the same time .

I got a good price on Rotella synthetic and stocked up. It goes in the lawn mower, the Camry, the Tundra, the tractor, the RTV.... everything but the chainsaw, and I buy synthetic 2 cycle oil for that.
