In our area the initial savings of two vs four is a double loss at sale time. Thanks to hills and 180 inches of snow a year. When making a purchase it is benificial to think of changes that might happen in the future. Both tractors mentioned are good tractors and if on level dry ground the MX could equally perform with the 3130 on loader work. The MX does have a type of shuttle which does work good with the loader for occasional use. The MX would easily run a light 7' bush-hog to make short work of that job. Most dealers give a better package price when buying a tractor rather then waiting for the loader which could mean several hundred dollars saved. When getting the loader also get the skid steer quick attach. That attchment is worth it's price and then some at resale time. With a ZD-28 for normal lawn duties get the ag tires.

Nice deal Archdean! Looks like nice wood. I have too much firewood. My wife makes me cut and stack it - then she says it can't be burned when its too cold cause it lets to much heat up the chimney. But that's when you would want a nice warm fire - isn't it?

has anyone ever used a Farm pro quick Hitch and or Know of anyone that has and are they worth trying out. I have a friend that wants to sell me one. He used it on a 3100 and said it was ok!<br>

well thanks all for the tips. I am actually shocked at the tone at how serious YOU GUYS think this is now! lol At first I was all like the end of the world had arrived and then calmed down. Now I just think they deserve another shot at fixing her right and thought it was just a pain and that's all...

I never thought I should get a new machine or write any letters. At least not yet. I figure anyone can make a mistake once, and am quite calm about the issue now. But trust me, if she comes back again STILL leaking, the S*#T will fly!

Being a mechanic I have no problem ripping her apart in fact am dying to do so to see what it going on (plus she never has to leave my yard being used/abused by who knows who), but as we all know..this may be a bad idea if this comes to bigger problems with the dealer/Deere later and becomes an even bigger warranty issue.

Anyway you got me thinking...

I have always used the 134 oil in my 8N and recommend you do the same.

Background: I have been helping my retired neighbor (he has a B7100, Woods BH + FEL my inspiration to buy a Kubota) on the weekends cut down some dead oaks (DAMN THAT OAK WILT!) and haul them to his house at the end of the block. He burns wood for heat.<br>

Well, after todays session of cutting, we got to talking about generators. He was showing me his little Honda 650W, and mentioned that he was going to throw away his "old" one because he never uses it and it burns some oil. Long story short, I am now the owner of a Kubota 1400 Watt gasoline generator.<br>

After having sat mostly unused for 10+ years, I changed out the old oil and gas, gave three pulls on the rope it was purring like a kitten! I never knew that Kubota made such a thing! It still needs some clean-up and some fresh orange paint, but for emergency use that's all I need!<br>

I'll say it again, sometimes the generosity of some people amazes me. Jerry is one of a kind.<br>

If you're in low range 4WD braking is good unless it is slippery, but even then if you have a loader you can lower it to the ground and control the descent. It's nice to have just ONE pedal on the right that will brake both rear wheels.

Ahhh pine needles... man I hate those things :) I don't think pine needles are long enough to clog (get wrapped around) the tiller. I don't think it'd be any diff. than tilling leaves.

I'n certainly no expert on tillers... But I added 4 loads (53" loader bucket) of leaves/pine straw/wood chips to a 6' x 30' tulip bed I'm preparing, and the tiller obliterated the stuff. But again... I'm no expert. 10 miles and only 1 pass may produce diff. results? I'd think tree roots and vines may be an issue.

Here is some of John Deere's poop on their 0W-40 oil. It has a pour point 21 degrees lower than the 15W-40 Plus 50.

All plows are built different. There are some that when I walk up to them I measure the frame bolts and divide it in half and I have the width that the bottom cuts. More often then not the bulk of plows I measure the width from bottom to bottom of the cut they will take.

When you build such a piece you should remember that removeal from time to time is a neccesity. Every now and then a control lever might not work do to build up on the skidplate of debris.

You can use most any make hydraulic oil in that application. It's only been the last few years that the types of systems have changed enough to demand higher quality oils and additives to work.

Seems the chances of both the injectors and the glow plugs all being bad is rather slim. Without telling us more it's pretty hard to say that something else more simple and lots less expensive might not be your culprit. Glow plugs or injectors never seem to all go bad at the same time. With proper fuel storage and filter maintenence injectors hardly ever are a problem anymore. I've had farm tractor engines with 6-8000 hours that I've traded in and never replaced an injector. The glow plugs from the "First Crop", 1960's era were a pain, but the "New Crop" glow plugs of today seldom cause problems. Your problem could be as simple as corroded battery trminals or a cloged fuel filter, check those and other less expensive cures first. Best of luck. Frank. P. S. Yeah, right on Murf,
Our county has about 12 of these to keep the 28 mile man made beach clean.
One other item that we see here is a 5 ft wide pine straw harvester...like a hay bailer....runs about $4,500 and pulls behind tractor.
On that story....sicko's doing something like that....akin to those crazies that blow themselves and innocents up!

I got the filter from my local J.D. dealer. he had them in stock. if that doesn't work try NAPA auto parts. My local NAPA has most any part for both my tractors and usually at a better price. If you still have no luck, let me know and I'll see what i can do. Tom
