I'm trying to check on a reasonable price for a 1994 front loading 23hp tractor, 4wd, with a very low 350 hours.

Thanks guys, I was fairly sure that any oil from JD would be suitable, just was leery of a 0W in a diesel. I do have a block heater in the 4100, none in the F735 as it gets put away for the season by end of Nov. My dealer wants $22.00cdn for a 4 litre jug which compares well to $32.00cdn for Mobil 1 and $35.00cdn for Shell Rotella at jobbers.

Yup. I used the diplomatic and persistant method, put everything in writing at the right stages, and ended up a satisfied Deere customer. Maybe some have not, but all it took was a little patience and a little more time. It doesn't matter whether it's JD or the one with the punkin' colored paint.

Orange is one of my favorite fall colors, but I like green year round <;~}

Seems the chances of both the injectors and the glow plugs all being bad is rather slim. Without telling us more it's pretty hard to say that something else more simple and lots less expensive might not be your culprit. Glow plugs or injectors never seem to all go bad at the same time. With proper fuel storage and filter maintenence injectors hardly ever are a problem anymore. I've had farm tractor engines with 6-8000 hours that I've traded in and never replaced an injector. The glow plugs from the "First Crop", 1960's era were a pain, but the "New Crop" glow plugs of today seldom cause problems. Your problem could be as simple as corroded battery trminals or a cloged fuel filter, check those and other less expensive cures first. Best of luck. Frank. P. S. Yeah, right on Murf,
Our county has about 12 of these to keep the 28 mile man made beach clean.
One other item that we see here is a 5 ft wide pine straw harvester...like a hay bailer....runs about $4,500 and pulls behind tractor.
On that story....sicko's doing something like that....akin to those crazies that blow themselves and innocents up!

I have approximately 10 miles of "fire lanes" that presently are kept up by disking once a year. These were installed by the Forestry about 9 yrs previous. So, I am
thinking that is I can get one that will cover 5 ft. width, then this may be the thing for me. One thing though, have you had any experience with pine straw and "clogging" the tines?

Hanging a big brush hog off the back of a compact tractor might not work so well unless you have some front counter-weight.

You will have to decide if spending money on suitcase weights or an FEL is the best way to go...

I got the filter from my local J.D. dealer. he had them in stock. if that doesn't work try NAPA auto parts. My local NAPA has most any part for both my tractors and usually at a better price. If you still have no luck, let me know and I'll see what i can do. Tom

Well that is what I thought but I had a guy tell me his 8N worked better on gear oil, maybe it was just wore out or maybe the piston type transmission pump likes the thick stuff. Thanks for the confirmation. I know there are three fill and drain plugs (trans, hydraulic and rear diff) to these stay separate or will the oil pass from one compartment to the other. I didn't look while we had the covers off...

How about making one from 1/4" deck plate? I checked out my
l3130 and there is quiet a lot of room for which to attach one. I have made a "brush guard" from 3/8" plate and 1 1/2"
xxh pipe between the plates. Had a mch shp break the metal.
Welded some 1-3/4" open expanded metal and attached it to the frame. If you can obtain/have a product brochure, there is a bursh guard that resembles mine. I notice that this keeps anything from really getting under the tractor.

I was looking for R1 tires for my X595. It uses the same tires and wheels as the 2210. I am using Titan/Carlisle Tru-Power Cat#'s 4233U1 front (18x8.50-10) and 423361 rear (26x12.00-12). If you look up the JD 2210 spec sheet it lists the R1 tires as standard and R3 and R4 tires are optional.

Yooper asked about the rifle's condition. The wood is well used. It has plenty of dings in it. It's kind of neat in that someone with the same initials as me carved them into the stock. I would call the wood condition "good." The steel looks really good. I would call it excellent There is no rust under the handguard or anywhere else. The bore is bright but probably a bit worn. I get about 4" groups at 100 yds. I wish the precision was a bit better. The only bullets I could find were pretty light at 150 grains. I will try a heavier bullet to see if that helps but I'm not expecting alot of improvement. We'll see.
