Dennoace - I've been exactly were you are & have done what cheif is advising. It basically got me a meeting with Bob Mills (Rep from Deere Corp.) & my dealer. I truely hope deere does better by you then they did me!! If not, You'll probably end up trading in for Kubota like I did, & I might add that I am now very happy I did. Ya never know, Ya might think the grass is Oranger on the other side, I did.

On several occasions, I've had damage to the underside of my L3130. Once, I ran over a branch, it levered up and caught a hydraulic line. Is anyone aware of a skid plate that might be available?

Removing the beaver rather than the dams works better I think. A shotgun works for beaver removal but takes a lot of time sitting around I imagine. Around here you'd just call up the trapper who has the district and provide encouragement to trap that particular family out. Some encouragement is needed since beaver pelts taken in most areas (and especially during the summer) aren't worth enough to make tapping them worthwhile. The usual encouragement can provide a good time for all concerned--except for the beaver of course. Of course, more will be back next year as long a poplar are standing--another excuse for more encouragement.

I think a wider front track may push the front axle lead ratio a bit during turns while in 4wd. I haven't thought it through and it may not be important even if true.

Most hydraulics leak-down some, and it's not much of a problem unless it's enough to become an aggravation during operation. It sounds like an empty bucket uncurls overnight. It could be a problem but it might result from the larger bucket plus tooth bar. It might also be within normal manufacturing tolerances. It's a good question for your dealer.

Will the model #74 front power blade fit my JD 4210? One brochure I have says it will. But another doesn't list one for this tractor. A buddy of mine knows where a used one is for sale. It's a 54" blade. If they will fit a 4310 why not a 4210?

I've about decided to go with the 3130 4wd. I don't need the bucket right now because my dad lives next door and his JD has one on it. I've got a bush hog already so I don't have to buy one. I think I'm going to go ahead and invest in a tiller. I already have a Kubota ZD28 mower that I purchased new about 6 months ago and I love the performance. Kubota is great!

DennoAce, you are incorrect about the block heater "cooking" the oil. Nothing could be further from the truth. The block heater is threaded in place of one of the coolant jacket plugs and heats the engine coolant. The block heater will heat the entire engine gradually and I doubt a 750 watt heating element can get the temperature of an entire diesel engine block much above typical engine operating temperature if that high. The oil remains in the oil pan and may be warmed indirectly by the heat tranfered from the engine block but not to a great degree and certainly not much hotter than warm to the touch.

Like anything else it is mostly a quality issue. For homeowner landscaping, it often doen't make sense to get implements at the upper end. It isn't hard to put a Landpride tool next to a KingKutter tool, and see the difference in quality. Yet I have several KingKuttter implements and have beat the you-know-what out of them, and have never had a problem.

You need to look at the quality, and you don't need to look very closely to see the difference. For a chunk of iron like a box blade, you can probably get away with something on the lower end. When you get into decks and post hole diggers, you may want to step up. The gearboxes, bearings, and alignment of the moving parts starts to make a difference.

Weight it probably the most important consideration for 3pt grading implements. Take a good look at a high end implement, and compare it to the lower end. If you have good mass, and can live with the fabrication quality, for residential use, you can stay low end. If it needs to rotate, and safety becaomes an issue, get the good stuff.

There are enough dealers and manufacturers around that comparison shopping is pretty easy. The internet makes it quick. You'll be able to fugure out if you are getting hosed.

Just universal hyd oil is fine. You do not want to put 80-90W in your hyd system, you will be in big trouble then.

Got the KKII 48" tiller this morning... unloaded it with the front loader, unpacked it, added the grease and oil. The TSC guy said 2QTs was enough oil to do the initial service. I bought 3QTs and that was barely enough.

You guys weren't kiddin about the paint. I dropped on end of the long chain on it and a piece of paint the size of a quarter popped off. There was no primer under the paint. But that may be good... I'm gonna try to scrape most of that yellow off the re-paint it JD green.

One of my big concerns was having it be compatible w/ JD's I-match system. Well after attaching JD's I-match bushings to the lower pins and doing a "test pick-up." I noticed that the upper attach point was keeping the lower pins from resting on the I-match hitch. So a litte rat tail file work elongated the upper hole by 3/16" installed a 5/8" bolt with the appropiate bushings and BAM I-match compatible... that makes me very happy.

I don't know if the drive shaft normally needs cut to length, but with the I-match system, PTO shaft length was perfect.

I tilled a test patch about 20 feet long... I was so worried that the 4110 wouldn't have enough umph... Well Hell that tractor barely know it's running the tiller. I'm gonna like this thing alot... The tiller in one pass made the grass covered dirt look like beautifully tilled soil.

2 attachment best buys for the "outdoorsy" type homeowner front loader and tiller.

Ok lastly... I haven't seen the dreaded "Made in Red China" sticker/stamp anywhere yet. The only parts I could see with a origin ID was the PTO shaft (Italy) and the tines (spain.) The side gear box is an "Omni Gear" gear box... I did a search and best I can tell...they're an Asian company.

Anywho... sorry to blabber on... Again thanks for all your help.

I've been to NorthernTool.com. However, my Kubota dealer says only Kubota manufactures seats that will fit the BX2200.. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that. Thanks for the reply though...

Clutch completely disengaged, nothing interefering with the seat interlock. There are a lot of safety interlocks that can be a little fussy at times. If you have not forgotten anything for start up, you may want to move everything once just to make sure there isn't a stuck interlock switch.

Have you tested the battery, or assuming it's ok because the lights come on. This isn't always a good indication the battery is ok. If you haven't already, test the battery. Then check the fuse.

These are just a few suggestions. Check the simple stuff first, then move on.
