I bought a
New
BX 23 a week ago last Saturday and noticed there is not much clearance between the rear tires and the mower so am wondering the same thing also.

I assumed when I bought the tractor that when they added loader that it was designed to have one. When they give it a #800 capacity that the loader can lift #800 without breaking. They give the three point a capacity of #1300 pounds, thats a lot of weight, but the tractor should be able to lift it and carry it without breaking. Also it should be able to do all this for many hours. Heck if I wanted to buy something that was going to break I would have saved some $15000 and bought the Craftsman tractor that my wife thought I needed. Getting the employee discount blinded me to others, I in the process of starting a lancscaping company and you can bet this is the last piece of blue in the stable.

The 2003 and newer HD Dodge trucks now use American brand axle assemblies rather than the old Danas. Have they switched the 1/2 tons as well? American axle is the same manufacturer that supplies GM.

GM uses a "Gov-Lock" type anti-spin which has a number of small weights on a spinning governor which have been prone to catastrophic failures. Is this what failed on yours?

I've got the hydro on my 4310 I bought 2 months ago. I also have a hydro on my JD325 lawn tractor. I love it. It's so easy to control. Easy to go forward, backward, adjust on the fly for conditions. I wouldn't want to go back to anything else. I don't use the brake (left foot) very much if at all. The 4310 is better at stopping on hills without using the brake.

I can't begin to describe how much better the hyrdo on the 4310 is compared to my old Oliver. On some snow days, my left leg would get fatigued from using the clutch so much to change fwd and bwd. I love it and won't go back. They can't make me go back!!!

Hi Art,
I've been wondering if I'm going to run into problems with the 60" myself and wonder if it would be wise to upgrade to 60 to the 72". When I'll be going around curves aren't I going to run out of the tracks?? I have an Econor on order and don�t want to get stuck with something too big or small.

Tire pressure. Mine was way too high (they say for transport) and nobody at the dealership checked it. Traction is much better when set correctly.

Have your priced out the MMM? I stayed away from one because they where very expensive 3,000 Plus.....

As far as doing it your self I'm not sure, the parts come with decent destructions, and if you have time and a full tool box, why not... I would not do it myself if the tractor was still under warranty I wouldn�t want to goof up a gear or something and it not be covered....

When you added the Mid PTO I know that you have to drain all 4gals of the tranny/hydo fluid. That alone would steer some people from doing it...

As far as the mounts for the MMM, call your dealer...

No abbeywoods was a gentleman on this forum who knew much about Cubs
I went through new cables had the starter tested had the safety switches tested etc & since the relay was installed it has never failed.It has something to do with the relay providing more currant directly to the starter

This is just a brief summary. After they moved in over two years ago I would complain to the senior idiot about their activities and he would usually not understand that it was a problem. After about two years and a new 980 foot long fence this summer and two approx 1000 pound electric poles as barriers,I have been getting the police involved. This has all helped.<br>
The theft and other damages have been small on each occasion but the total over two years would be several hundred dollars.<br>
This is not a high crime area but an upscale township near the city.<br>

They can be a little annoying, but they are trapezoidal beams, so unless you turn your head into them, it isn't a problem. I don't notice any glare unless I turn around. The lights also turn to the back for rear work, but most of the time I use them for the FEL.

To get into backhoe work I do prefer the four wheel drive and the loader or some ballast would need to added to the front. The BH90 which goes on the 3130 is an awesome hoe to work with as well as the solid way it mounts to the tractor. Are you just looking for something to brush-hog with or to do the mowing too? It sounds like you have an industrial machine to use at your leasure.

Sorry about your troubles, I've got customers that are doing about the same as you and loving there little tractors! We've got some in the area well over the one thousand hour range and they are still using them for everything you can imagine.

I was never able to cut down high spots very well by holding the box off the ground with the 3ph. When the front wheels go over the bump the box lowers and tends to gouge unless the top-link is very extended, in which case it won't cut anything else. The reverse also is true. Unless the 3ph has plenty of float, trying to fill low spots tends to dump the box before the dip as the front wheels go into it.

In the initial work of moving dirt from high places to low I still use the rear cutter sometimes. Other than that I do almost everything with a hydraulic top-link. I don't know if I'd still have a positive attitude about box scrapers if I didn't have a hydraulic top-link. You can't cut, drag and spread on the fly without one.

I have a front snowblower and a front loader for my 650. Deere has rear wheel weights you can buy or a rear ballast box. I bought wheel weights from EZWeights.com, a bracket mounts to your wheel and up to 5 25 lbs. barbell weights slide on a 1" threaded rod that threads into the bracket. I also use my box blade for rear ballast sometimes. I couldn't see why I would spend money on a rear ballast box that has no other function, my box blade was about $100 more than a ballast box but I can use it for more than just weight.
