Tom, that condo was the project I was mentioning earlier in this thread.

It wasn't just that the municipality had allowed the building to go in to a bad spot, they actually made the problem worse.

The Town had been drawing water from that aquifer via a huge Town well directly across the street from the site. When the Region took over the water system from the individual Towns they decided that this well was to be abandoned. After pumping 100's of gallons per day from that site for over 50 years they just switched the pumps off one day. The consultants had told the government to not plug the wells, but instead to allow them to flow into a creek nearby. The government ignored them. This caused the water table in that area to rise by 4' over what it had been.

This condo was not the only property affected. It was the only one that got any media attention however, some well-meaning building official decided at 4:30pm on the Friday of Thanksgiving weekend to issue an order condemning the building. That went over really well.....

The steel in the rotating balls is surprisingly soft, if you used a hammer to force one over a pin you may have caused damage, in the way of peening over the edge, to one of the balls, causing it to be stuck tight on the pin.

You might want to use a little heat to try to expand the ball slightly then (gently) tap the arm itself with a BFH.

As was mentioned, if the inside bore is filled with paint you might want to clean it out before trying again.

shamil, although the Deere parts website shows the hitch kit as an obsolete item; it can in most cases still be ordered. Check with your local dealer and ask their parts dept. to order it. If they won't or you run into problems let me know and I can put you in touch with my friend Ricky and he can have it drop shipped to you if the hitch kits are still in the supply system.

That's good to hear, and I don't even find concern for the chicken hawk by the chicken rancher unusual. I prefer to see my hawks flying as well. We've never had a house hawk before and it must have been quite an experience.

An ID on the bird is a little difficult since it almost certainly is a juvenile, and as everybody knows kids are confusing. Maybe it thought it was crashing a party.

Are you sure that the 240 is the closest? This tractor does have the "selecta shift" feature. Where is the pickup screen? I was told that I would have to take a plate off but I didn't want to take the wrong one off. I plan on ordering the manuals this week. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Grinder! I doubt the rafters span the short side-walls in this lean-to porch roof but I suppose there could be stubs from the middle of the end rafters to the wall plates, which would be over the door--don't know how much that would load the door frame though. The inspector's idea is that if I have to replace the short door frame studs with longer ones to accommodate a pre-hung door than I might as well make the whole area solid to the wall plate, whether it needs 2x10's or not.

Dang! This whole thing started with an insurance company nattering away about the lack of steps and an exterior door on a front enclosed porch. Few people have front stairs around here. Two other entrances meet fire code. The problem is me wanting to save as much of my wife's flower bed as possible by eliminating landings and handrails. I think I've figured how to do it and it shouldn't be too bad. However, I suppose that my wife's flower bed will blossom with my aggravation if I find two layers of exterior wall covering nailed to the door framing I may have to remove.

Not sure if there is a better way, but the solution was to get two extra 7800 harness sockets and put the 2910 sockets on them. It turned out to be less than ideal.<br>

If there is a 2910 harness piece that works, I couldn't find it. I would get the extra 7800 tails, so you still have the stock equipment on hand. If you are looking for the part no. for the 7800 socket tail, it's 6C040-55630.<br>

But not sure I understand completely. The headlight harness for both tractors are the same. The part no. of the headlight wiring harness for both the 7800 and the 2910 is 53581-64150.<br>

I have found two tractors. One at a dealer and the other is private. Can anyone help me with a fair price? The L2900 has 517 hours and a FEL. The L2650 has 335 hrs and no loader. I probably would add a Koyker 155 loader to it. I expect the loader will run around 3 grand so I need to throw that into the mix. Thanks.

Sorry about your Corolla experience. The facts (e.g. - CR) suggest your car was not typical of the brand. You'd have a hard time finding many Toyota owners, past or present that would agree they rate POS status. The Prius is certainly bland in some respects, but fuel economy, emissions and quality of build are as good as it gets. If the world wants diesel powered cars, or hybrid diesels, I will not protest. But I suspect that diesel cars are unlikely to gain widespread popularity with gas hybrids as an alternative.

I am at the beginning of my tractor search and have everything to learn. It has been 20 years since I spent any real time using one and my memory doesn't last that long! (other than my occasion recent manure spreading on a '51 Ford....) It was suggested to me that if I want to not spend all of my time mowing, I should get around a 72" mower and would need the larger tractor to get through the Bahia in decent time. Now, I may hear something different at the next place. A couple of growers at the Same dealership were pretty high on those tractors and said you get a lot for your money. I will take a GPS out to the "hills" next time to get a high and a low point but do suspect that it is in the 300+ over sea level as someone mentioned. I will go lurk on the "What size" forum as well. Do you think it is overkill?

WOW, this board looks like a great resource with a lot of valuable information. I'm looking to purchase my first tractor. Found a 1999 model Kioti 3504 with FEL.Tractor has 900+ hours and appears in excellent, garage kept condition. Seller is asking $9000. This appears to me to be a really good deal...almost too good. I would very much appreciate any thoughts or comments.

And it's just the neatest little Tractor with a lot of guts, Have my B7510 equipped with a 302 FEL and a 4672 BH and it performs with precision excellence!!!!!!

I whole heartedly recommend this Rig to anyone with the usual needs for 10 acres or less and most importantly it's ORANGE...............

Av8R, you can straighten the rod ends out but they've been stressed. Those type of parts are usually made from a harder steel. If you bend it back, you run the risk of it breaking under high stress conditions. I saw quite a few rod ends like that (but smaller) when I worked on suspensions. There, a failure was a really bad thing with really ugly results. So you'll need to decide what the consequence is for a failure.

thanks for the input. I stuck (ha. ha.) with the turfs. Machine is great. I can pop small stumps right of the ground with the loader. Sure beats digging by hand. My soil is clay and I could see the r4's turning into slicks real easy with those large voids (like in kwschumm's pics).

Yes that is very true, when I got my first tractor I almost didn't get the loader, boy would have been a hugh mistake. Now that I've had one a tractor without a loader would be like a car with no wheels.
