Ncrunch32 Those people need to go to New Orleans out by the airport. Some of the houses out there are 2 feet under ground on one end. They where buit on slabs and are sliding undergound. No pylons. When your in the city and a truck or bus goes by your car when your sitting still, you can feel your car bounce like it's on Jello. New Orleans is 8 feet below sea level and is all river silt. I have watched them drive 120 foot concrete pylons down town for high rise buildings, the first 60 feet they just push them down, then pound the other 60 ft. I did an addition to an old house on the street closest to the river, a few feet down we found just about everything clay marbles,real old bottles a complete horse shoe set with pin that had sunk over the years and disapeared.

JD makes a cover for the 455 garden tractor... I don't know how it compares in size to the 2210. You'd still have to cut it for the ROPS.

I think it's what we call a Chicken Hawk but I'm not sure of the real name. The stupid thing flew into one of our windows and made a crash landing. When I figured out where the noise had came from and went to investigate, he/she was laying there with it's tongue out. I had to go do some things and when I came back to see if it was OK, it flew up and landed on the window ledge. I think it's OK, it's still setting there. I hate to see wounded animals and not be able to help but there's no way I can get to it.

Hopefully it'll be OK.

Couldn't help but to jump in here. Before I bash internal combustion I should say that I'm addicted to it in all its forms. That being said, a gasoline engine such as that powering a car typically converts only 20 to 30 percent of the energy released in combustion into usable work at the flywheel. The rest is lost in a variety of ways, mostly through heat sent out in the exhaust and through the cooling system. Think about it, the expansion (compression ratio) allowed for capturing the energy is about 10 to 1, while the expansion to ambient pressure in converting from liquid starting material to gaseous products is 1000 to 1. We let a lot of high pressure hot gases out as waste. So, there are huge opportunities to recover some of this using hybrid designs or other means. In a hybrid, the idea is to use an undersized but efficient gas engine for power and run it in a narrow, efficient rpm range. All power comes from this engine, and it ultimately is sufficient because it can continue producing power during coasting, for eample, and that power is stored in a battery and released through an electric moter as needed.

If you don't have the foldable ROPS with the holes in the hinge assembly, I would recommend a bracket with U-bolts for mounting to the ROPS. I took some pictures over the weekend, I'll try to post soon.

My BX 23 has foldable ROPS.
One advantage of U-bolts is more choice of locations on the ROPS.

Probably you did no damage. We had a thread going a couple years ago about old farm tractors that started on gasoline and then were switched to "farm fuel" when they warmed up.

Near as we could tell the farm fuel was some version of kerosene.

The gears and components are designed to pull forward. The gears have lead angles and other subtle differances which "prefer" a rotation in a certain direction.

Oneace could probably tell us more, he's the true expert.

I have the Woods SS60 w/hydraulic chute rotation mounted on an 870 with a front snow blade that replaces the bucket on my FEL. I have a 1500' driveway cut into the side of a hill and we get over 5' of snow/season so blowing it is my only option. The only complaint I have about the Woods is it doesn't like 'light accumulations'' (under 5" or so) for those, I set my plow to max angle and make one pass down the driveway. That leaves a pile of snow on the other 1/2 that I blow off very nicely on the way back up.
You can probably find cheaper snowblowers but you will have trouble finding one better built (my opinion anyway).
Whatever you end up with, have fun with it!! Snow removal is about my favorite tractor activity...followed by some wine in the hot tub!

Mark, they seemed to have arched 2" x 2" roof 'rafters' then they used small steel straps, about 1" x sheet metal thick, that ran side to side as sort of collar ties to prevent spreading.

All the exterior walls were framed the same way, front sides or rear.

No load bearing is required for any interior walls. Mind you, these were only 8' wide units, it may be different with wider units.

Thanks for asking, It's been doing me a real good job so far. In my experience, buy the snowblower. With snowfalls like you are saying you will have trouble after the first few snowfalls unless you push snow way back into lawn or surroundings. With a snowblower you make one pass and that much snow is gone. If you blade and make tall ridges, you are setting up for drifts. You still get them with snowblower but not as bad. The 2 stage will blow the snow farther as to not make a tall ridge close to the drive for drifting.
