I'm guessing that Kubota is aiming at a different price point or market segment than Deere. My Kubota dealer says he does not stock B2910s but he sells plenty of B7800s. He actually discouraged me from ordering the B2910 (which would have meant more money for him) although he offered to order one if I really wanted it.

The B7800 is a great basic tractor. It does what it does, and does so without complaining. The new Deeres have some great features. But some people just want a working tractor and can't or won't pay thousands more for certain features. Obvously other customers will.

I assume that both Deere and Kubota know their markets. I will speculate that Kubota will sell more B7800s outside the US than Deere will sell Twenty series outside the US.

Compare a Ford Taurus, Lincoln LS and the Jaguar S-type - they are built on the same chassis, share the same engine block and probably 80% of the components. The Jag does 150 mph and has heated leather seats. The Taurus will get you to the grocery store just fine. Pays your money, takes your choice.

both my old b6000e and my 8200 require the glow plugs to get them to fire up even after hard use on a summer day. engine on the 8200 has great compression but for whatever reason I need to hit the pulgs even if it's just for a few seconds.

B6000E-do u always have to use glow plugs when starting your b6000e

Yes, you are right, I have checked all the items you mentioned. But what I haven't done is the simplest test of all. I should get on another new 4115 at the dealers and see if it has the same issue. Is it possible that my dealer could be wrong when they said it should steer like a car? (they have been in business for over 40 years) I have the tractor back from the dealer to take care of the weekend/holiday chores. When they come and pick it up on Tuesday, I will mention the replacement of the pump orifice with a smaller ones. Thanks for the additional information.

I started my search for a small TLB for my 8 acres, about 3 of which are cleared. My driveway is about 400' and I plan on landscaping the property. Whatever I chose must plow, mow, load, dig, grade, and be a general "jack of all trades".<br>

I initially liked the BX for the same reasons you listed, but looked at Kioti too. After comparing prices, quality, specifications, and comfort, the CK 30 won by a large margin. It's large and heavy enough to do real work but small enough to fit nearly anywhere the BX will. With R4 tires, the additional weight is nearly invisible and it can still be towed by a regular pickup truck.<br>

Before you make a decision this important, go sit on the tractors you're comparing. If you'll be doing a lot of loader work, check out where the loader controls are. I really like where Kioti put them because it's so comfortable during use. Then go home with brochures and compare capacities and prices. The Kioti wins all around.<br>

After 30 hours on my CK30 HST TLB, I can tell you without a doubt that it's the best tractor value on the market today. While some may argue that Kubota is better (I don't agree), nobody can tell you that theirs is more comfortable than the CK30. Go sit on it them operate the loader - you'll see what I mean.
Regarding prices, I think the quote you've been given is too high. I paid only a little more than that and got the Kioti 72" 3 point mower, Kioti 72" box blade, AND delivery to my door in NJ!
I met two wonderful local Kioti dealers looking for my CK but ended up at Carver Equipment in Dunn, NC. Call Al at 910-892-7171 extension 28. I'm not sure when the connection to IH changed for the Cub. I have a 7234, (4WD 23HP) and I think it is a 1996 model. The 7000 series of that era, 19HP, 23HP, and 27HP were all Mitsubishi engine & drive train. Very tough, dependable tractors. They were produced in Japan like most all of the compacts, (Deere, Ford/New Holland, Kubota) but I believe they were assembled here in the US by Cub who is now owned by MTD. Those lines migrated I think to a 20HP, 26HP, and a 30, maybe the 36HP as well. Today they have a mix of gas or diesel and the Cub has a Daihutsu engine in some of them. They also have a couple of bigger models that are re-badged Kiotis in the typical yellow Cub colors, 40 - 45HP range or something like that. Oh yeah they also have one now with a Cat diesel engine in it, I'm not sure what drivetrain it has. That is a quick dump from my readings, I think it is fairly accurate. Cub has a site complete with prices if you want to look further at the compact line. Just a side note some of the Cub models that were built in the mid to late 90's like mine with the Mitsubishi drivetrain are now being built by Mahindra and look almost identical to my Cub but are Red in color. I assume the casting, and rights, etc. were sold to them by Mitsubishi. Enjoy.

My FZ2400 hydrostatic transmission acts "sticky" - I have to usually tap the reverse pedal, or the zero turn pedal to get it into neutral. The linkage itself is free though, it seems to be internal. Any hints on what the problem could be, potential cost to repair, etc.?<br>

Kodiak Tractors::Thanks for the info ,boy I have down hours of researh on this brand and have had a couple e-mails and I have found 2 places to get parts for this tractor,somewhat easing a possible buy.It also has a backhoe that the owner says was bought at "ace'did not say equipment,or ace hardware.Around here tractors seem to be really rare and premium priced.Thanks for the e-mail Scott

1*I purchased my first tractor a new 1966 Bolens with a 48" front blade 38 "mmm and rear mount tiller.
Over the years I have mowed acres and acres of grass and moved ton after ton of dirt gravel slag and snow with the Bolens and those implements.
The Bolens is 2 wheel drive and the front blade is manually raised and lowered by hand with a lift lever.

My reasoning is thus.
Since I was able to remove snow with the Bolens without the aid of a snowblower on it why would I need a snowblower for a bx23 4X4 to remove snow?

Again sounds right to me. Hour on these machines play a very small role in there resale value. It is the condition of the unit in question, and whether the maintenance was up on it. 175 hours is just a drop in the bucket compared to how many hours are on it where it is retired, probably long after you do. I have seen some tc40 and 45 with well over 2000 hours on them and still run like a top.

Just for some reassurance and endorsement of those encouraging you to use a blower (front or rear), I'd second that! I have a MF similar to the BX with a front-mount blower and it did great last winter! I have a ~350 native surface/gravel drive with some slope to it and the blower was just the ticket. Oh sure, you'll take a facefull of snow once in a while, but rest assured I would guess your BX will do just fine. I have turfs (not loaded), bought a pair of chains just in case, but haven't had to use 'em yet. Good luck to you.

I would imagine that a tricycler kit is probably your best option. At least you could chop up most of the nut debry. I mow yards with hickory trees and those damn nut shells are a pain in the butt! I have to wear safety glasses to mow because the shells can be like bullets. You might be able to install a bagging kit on your mower and install the Deere high lift blades and this might suck up enough of the nuts and shells to get the bulk of it.
