By Golly, you're right Bill, I don't know why they don't include the weights of the tractors on those web sites, but I'll bet if you send an e-mail question to Carver (or most any other dealer), they can tell you. I'll venture a wild guess that 2500# for the L3010 (without implements) won't be too far off, but don't hold me to it. The manual says my B2710 is only 1740#.

I just heard about a new Kobota coming out this spring, the L3000DT. It is supposed to 8 forward gears and a clutch and have ~27hp. Has anybody else heard about this or even better have a price on it?

Hey, thanks for all the good comments. I'll have to check what's in the tank to see if it's red. I wouldn't know off hand, since I just bought the tractor and I haven't re-filled it yet. Even if its not red, I'll probably still drain the tank and try some clear from a reliable source. I hope its that simple.

I am selecting a tractor for my business in Southeast, Alaska. We provide remote landscaping, trail building, and material delivery to islands with a small landing craft. I need a tractor that can pull a small dumping trailer for trail work, move small piles of crushed rock and dirt with a loader, and turn around in very tight places. we are going from beach to wooded areas and will have to deal with some rocky places. We use a mini excavator to prepare the trails and beach landing sites the two machines will work together. In winter we have several snowfalls in excess of 24 inches and need to run a front mount blower. I have been considering a NH TC29 and an Antonio Carraro. Any advice will be appreciated this will be my first tractor. (skidsteers tear up the ground to much in this country).

After a year of trying to decide which new compact to buy I bought a used Kubota<br>B2150 with 90 hrs on it. It has a loader, turfs, 72

It is like brand new and I couldn't pass it up. What I need to know is the capacities and specs of the loader and three point hitch. I'm told that this is a real work-horse and a very dependable machine. I'm sure a larger horsepower machine would have performed better, but since I've never owned anything larger than a riding lawn mower I have nothing to compare it to. I always have the option at a later date to upgrade if needed. Although I have several acres to finish mow and several more acres to bush hog it's actually a toy to me. I bought a 455 in May of this year. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE PERIOD! I love JD, but the 455 is by far the most over priced machine on the market for what it is. I was tricked into the machine by an autoparts dealer who happend to carry JD tractors. Sold me on the hitch, never told me it was only Cat.

The only way to safely mount a backhoe on a 4100 is with a frame mount kit due to the lightness of the tractor frame. That is probably why Deere doesn't list a backhoe. Kelley makes a backhoe(B600) with subframe kit for the 4100 with a dig depth of 6'6

Other than using the back-hoe for digging the holes, can't think of anything the tractor could do about your corrosion problem.. I can suggest having them sandblasted? I don't have a clue what it would cost. Or maybe you could rent the unit for a day. A local sandblaster could probably knock all those pipes out in less than a day. Thats the route I would take.

Rather than messing around with mixing fuels, just add a good conditioner that does at least these three things (1) reduce gel point; (2) disperses water; and (3) stabilizes the fuel. I use Stanadyne Performance Formula - you'll likely need to go to an injector shop or heavy equipment truck dealer to find it. other brands are sold in auto parts stores.

Rich - what will you need the tractor for? My Kubota is a 17 horsepower, hydrostatic drive, 4 wheel drive. I bought it new, and even a really used one would be hard to find in the 5-6K range I think.
