Bill, you did not misread it, I made a boo-boo. Yes, my fleet only. As for liability, no problem, all drivers signed an acknowledgement, provided by muy insurance company, that says they are aware that the vehicle is equipped with speed limiting.

Iowa, my vehicles, USED to be equipped with that 'right-side sensor' too, you need to use the magic silencer to quieten it, repeat "It's a LONG walk home from here." a few times and the noise stops. LOL. Besides, my PSD only does about 110 mph, her Bimmer will easily do 160mph.

OK, I think I've decided on the BX23. Now I need to know if they're offering me a decent price...
1*BX23 for $16,370 (10" bucket);
2*loader
3*60" MMM for $1,765;

4*PHD for $675;
5*tiller for $1400.
Does this sound like a reasonable deal? Thanks.

Is there much difference in the angle that these two implements run in the ground. Looks like the sub-soiler tooth is more flatter angle than a potato plow.

I did a similar trick with my old Oliver. I took too big of a scoup of dirt with the FEL. The right front tire was on a soft patch of ground and sunk when I raised the bucket up. I had the left rear up a good 2 feet before I get the laod dumped and the tractor down. Afterward, I kept looking around to make sure the wife didn't see. I don't know if I could have jumped, the pucker factor was holding me in the seat pretty good.

I thought of that, two problems, first, BIG clean up required, second, it's a LONG way up to climb in.

I thought it would be easier to just throw a couple of those electric BBQ starters in the pool to keep the water hot.

I just bought a new Kubota (BX 23) With loader hoe 60" mower and a grill guard.
Using Kubotas 0 percent financing I was able to beat the pants off a used 2003 for 13500.

Looing for sub or compact tractor with backhoe

Several answers to points above: I am running with Turf tires and they are filled with a liquid. I know it is not sodium chloride, my quess is an alcohol based liquid. I generally mow without the FEL. I must say it is really easy to remove and replace. The steering problem appeared to come on gradually as I did not notice it when I took delivery. Not having owned a real tractor before, I asked the dealer if the pwr steering was supposed to be just like a car and they said yes. Is the steering really supposed to be that easy? A point was made above that their steering was very hard on asphalt but generally easy on grass. If they don't fix the issue, I will see if I have the same results. Hadn't every noticed.
Thanks for all the responses so far. I will keep all informed as to the results. Still waiting for the one person out there who had the problem and reports what was done to fix it.

My local Dealer told me 4500 for a hoe installed on the B series tractors, Don't know what brand.<br>
I looked at a used one some guy was asking 2100 for.<br>
It was older but the guy said it was in good mechanical shape.<br>
He bought it new about 12 years or so ago and didn't use it much.<br>
Paint was very dull but nothing a little black paint in a spray gun wouldn't take care of <br>
quick easy and cheap.<br>
Probably could have snatched it up for a 1000 to 1700 offer.<br>

I whole AGREE completely with all the statments above, and this smells. Sad part is, someone will send this clown the 8K and loose big time. Consider yourself fortunante to not fall for this scam.

lbrown, I don't recall anyone here reporting broken JD tractors when using a JD backhoe designed for the machine. Aftermarket 3-point backhoes are another story, but it's likely every brand has had some problem with them when they are misused.

Read the post you mention, doesnt talk about your Farm Pro ownership experience...its true that some people have unrealistic expectations and sometimes expect much more than they pay for. Some people buy used and expect new quality and I am sure some people buy Chinese tractors and expect major brand quality and support. If the customers expectations are realistic, they can have a very satisfactory owership experience.

The fact is not everyone can afford or wants to tie up so much money in what you call a "real" tractor. This is a thread comparing the purchase of a new Farm Pro tractor to a more expensive used gray market import, I don't think a new New Holland is in the scope of the original poster's consideration (granted, the NH is Japanese). I simply suggest he look at the new Farm Pro models because based on what I have seen, they have come a long way in the last few months.

I am the very first to admit that the Chinese tractors are not for everyone, that is why we have Kioti and Farmtracs, but there is a place for these inexpensive little tractors and I believe one of them is as an alternative to used gray market tractors.

Some people have champaigne taste and a beer budget, then they buy beer and don't like the taste, others like beer!

By the way, my spruce patch is still so thick I'm going to get another truckload out of it this winter. For some reason I can't wait. It's strange how some things excite me. I guess it's just in my "jackpine savage" blood.

What I need is valve adjustment clearence and the procedure for timing marks vs adjust on #1 Cyl exhaust/intake once I have reassembled the head.I do see that #1 time mark set the piston to the TDC.#2 same.Can anyone tell me the procedure? While I'm asking can you also tell me the recommended head bolt torque in lbs. Thanks again for looking.

Unfortunately, you fell into the same situation many of us have at one point or another. Price vs. expectation!

I bougth a MitD2350 about 18 months ago. Looked Great! Got a great price! It served it's purpose until I drove a New Holland TC30 a friend of mine had. I was always replacing this or that, adjusting this or that, etc. instead of having fun and actually using the tractor. Bought the 2350 with a brand new GB loader, 5' deck, 5' box blade. I thought I was aving money by buying a used machine. The dealer experience I has was similiar to yours and it was not Corriher. I told myself I wasn't worried about all the safety features the new units have vs my 2350, I told myseld I didn't mind the multible levers, switchs I had to deal with, and hard to get parts issues.

Short story... I now have a brand new TC30 hydro with loader. Kept my mower deck, blade, etc. The FUN factor is completly different. Now I don't have to worry about something going wrong or pushing the unit to it's limits. I just go out and do whatever I feel like!

I will add, I bought my TC30 from Corriher and have had nothing but a great experience. Bought it over the phone, they shipped it to Tampa Florida no problems, I have called and asked a couple of questions, no problems, Had a small hydralic coupling issue on the loader, they sent me a new hose asap and it took 10 seconds to snap it in place of the other one.

I would re-think your purchase, bite the bullet and go new!

Typically the rims will be designed such that the hub does not sit on the centreline of the tire, thus swapping tires side-to-side changes the overall width.

On uneven terrain, or for more stability using the FEL it desirable to keep the wheels as wide as possible.
