I figured my BX 22 at 2600# with wheel weights. That mower deck has got to weigh a couple hundred more. Better figure on 2900-3000# by the time you add fuel and such.

I towed mine on a standard 16 foot car hauler. The little bit of extra room gave me the ability to load the tongue with enough weight to safely tow it.

As far as the tow vehicle goes, you are going to need a real hitch, not a step bumper, and a 5000 pound tow capacity.

I am buying a new tractor Monday. What I am hearing is that Sept 1st prices and the 0% interest disapears so Im buying now! There are always uses for a tractor in the winter around the farm.

Ace, I hear what you're saying, but when it gets to the point where there is NO WARRANTY until you sign off on the following statement;

"I have been instructed on the paragraphs above, received and have been instructed in the contents of the Operator�s Manual including safety signs, safety equipment, safe operation, maintenance, and the potential hazards of unauthorized alteration or modification of the product. I have been informed of the warranty provisions and know that the warranty is not in effect until this form is received by Alamo Group."

Then it's time to re-think the wHOLE process and the system that allows it.

BTW, amongst the items you have to certify, BEFORE you get a warranty, is that all nuts & bolts are properly torqued, has anybody ever had a dealer go around with a torque wrench during the PDI and show that the bolts are all torqued to specification?

Of course my favourite was this little tidbit that the DEALER has to sign off on "I have explained that the extended head or boom or retracted boom can contact power lines with resulting electrocution injury or death and that operator is responsible for keeping clear of such hazards." No, really? Wow, what's next, I have put fuel in it every so often?

Everybody knows Murphy's Law, there are actually many of them, # 18 says "Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool."

I priced several used 2410's about two years ago. You are right in the range I was quoted. Looks like a good deal. Ask for any maintenace documentation they have and take a good look at the conditions of the fluids. If all the filters and fluids haven't been changed before the sale, you should try to get this as part of your deal. Good Luck.

To answer the question about the seat, it's not a true Kubota deluxe seat that you would get on the 2910. It is a modification to the economy seat that came with the 7800 so that it now includes the arm-rests. I suppose I stretch a little to call it a deluxe seat:). The arm rests and mounting brackets were $175. I needed to fabricate some addtional brackets for the wrap around piece on the back of the seat.

All in all, in works out fine, except the seat frame isn't as stiff as it should be for the arms to support a lot of weight. For resting the elbows while mowing and other long seat time tasks, they work great.

The arm rest kit was a Christmas present from the wife. I would need to shake it out of her to find out where she got it.

Dan, if it is ONLY for show purposes, there is no real reason to use anything more than a single layer of Yellow Pine or similar wood for the decking.

Even though the wood will be coated and and it will be stored inside, Murphy's Law says it will get rained on and dirty, better to plan for that now. Instead of using T & G lumber just use plain wood, but rip both sides to a 45 deg. bevel. That way shrinkage won't expose a gap, but if it gets rained on, the water, as well as the inevitiable sand from feet, etc., will run right through and not be trapped in the dado.

Also, cut & dry fit ALL lumber for the deck BEFORE you screw any of it down, then pull it all back out and coat all 4 sides before putting it back in, then you know you have really good coverage and it will stand up the best.

rparch, FYI I got my L3130DT with 723 loader for $1600 more than that new. That was almost a year ago so I wouldn't expect to get that price now. I suppose I would have had to add 1K or 1.5K to that for the GST plus a bit more for the mid PTO.

On those steep slopes, I'd suggest getting in touch with nature and letting them stay natural. Use whatever excuse you want be it supporting nature, a one man conservation effort, saving the gray spotted home owner...

Years ago, my old man would have sent me on the slopes with safety glasses and a weedeater. "What do I need an expensive mower for when I have a teenage son?"

I think there's some fluffy language from the dealer/corp. Most people would think that 'weight on the wheels' means loaded tires or wheel weights. That type ballast doesn't change the steering much. Weight carried on the 3ph is still on the wheels I suppose but it does lighten the steering.

Most PS steering systems have an adjustable relief valve. If the problem just suddenly appeared the relief pressure might be checked. It's also possible that the problem is there when no 3ph implement is mounted and not there when one is mounted.

I have had Green and switched to Orange. The are clearly both good. I think Kubota has the edge. I have a 1976 Kubota L175 that I simply KILL and have no respect for and the harder I run it the better it runs. I also have a bx2200 that I do the same with. Check the specs, do your homework and decide exactly what you are looking to do with the machine. Things like lift height of the FEL and lift capacity are important to look at.

Both machines are great. I think price and the dealer are your 2 biggest factors. Good luck!

My 2001 BX2200 does the exact same thing. My brush guard on the front is black as well. Another guy telling you it's normal. It stinks too when you first start it. Holding the glow plugs a little longer doesn't seem to reduct the smoke either. Per the book, about 3 seconds on a normal day. Don't sweat it and run it hard!

The cab is aftermarket. There is really no Assembly required. You just lift it on and bolt it down. Quite pricey though.$3,000 not including heat.

Yep that is my girl she will be 4 next month time flies when you have kids.
