I purchased the 8" Prairie Dog bucket. Sorry to say that the bucket did not fit the Woods 7500, and this is after confirming with the folks in MI that the buckets were interchangable between the Woods and Prairie Dog. The pin hole diameters were too small, although not by much, probably by a few thousandths of an inch. I could have fixed that if I wanted to, but there were bigger problems with the bucket in my opinion. The bucket I received was not welded correctly. It was not completely square, and the attaching brackets were not welded parallel with the sides of the bucket, and one of them was warped from the heat of welding. When I'm talking about not being parallel with the bucket, it was off by at least 5 degrees, and when I talk about warped, The largest gap with a straight egde was over 1/4". If I could get the bucket mounted onto the hoe and curled up the bucket, it would have been off to one side by about an inch at the teeth.<br>

So, I returned the Prairie Dog bucket and purchased the correct Woods/Gannon bucket after shopping for a good price. I got within $50 of the Prairie Dog price, locally.

I a little late on this because all the right answers have been given. Here it goes anyway. I dont know the specifics of GA, I was a real estate agent in MD for awhile. Its true that after a certain time period, if you allow him to use the land, he will be granted ownership of it. Its been a number of years but I thought that was called "perceptive easement" not "perscriptive". Maybe different for different states. If that hasnt happened and you just cant leave it be and it turns out that he doesnt have deeded access through your property, another solution that would be considered a compromise would be to start leasing the ground to him. I dont recommend court to anyone but if left with no choice, this may be an option to look at. Ask for $75 a month and the court may compromise at $40. That would be enough to cover most future maintenance.
Again, I think I would try to get over it but I dont know your situation. I know Ive got a next door neighbor that doesnt exactly take pride in his house. It used to bother me. At one point I was actually considering offering him a reasonable amount for his house just to get rid of him. Now I can joke around about it and I feel much better. All I know is I would take three eroded drives over one trashy neighbor.

Angry, (I hope not), welcome to the world of compacts. I'm not totaly familliar with the Cub Cadets of today, but in the past they have been one of the leaders from back in the 60's and 70's I guess I need a little refreshment on history. Did the Cub Cadets from the International Harvester days follow the IH farm equipment into the Case-IH organization or was the trademark name sold to someone else who now builds the Cadets? Hope you enjoy your tractor as much as the rest of us here do. WARNING!!, they get habit forming, soon other attachments will follow your Cadet home like a lost puppy. Frank.

You might ceck with Northern Tool and Equipment. Also, JD makes a 15 cubic foot dump cart. I have one and it works fine.

You are right about the right tool for the job.
It's called a stump cutter, (Vermeer)
Rental yards usually have the 252 model like mine.
125.00 for half day. You should be able to do about a hundred small stumps, (if they are close together)in that
amount of time.
The best part is you don't have to haul it off,have the roots all ripped up, and with a little common sense have
all you arms and legs in working order.
Pretty good chance you won't even break a sweat!

I was doing some fairly light dirt work today with my 2210. I didn't have any ballast on the rear 'cus it was pretty light work and I had my sub-soiler on.<br>

A half full bucket of dirt on a slight left side decline as I backed up with the bucket a waist level. The right rear tire rolled up on a rock and she started to go. I leaned out the right side and punched the forward pedal as I hit the bucket lever to drop it. She came back up promptly but this was a real eye opener!<br>

I HATE side hill slopes and always carry the bucket LOW!!..except for this time. Even when it's a slight slope..you may roll over a damned rock and...it's a problem. Also..ALWAYS have rear ballast on...period!<br>

I called and the shaft was the wrong one.I need a shaft for a JD model #397. They (Hutson's) are going to try and locate one or even the entire deck for me. It is in deed a small world as My last name is Hutson. I told him to treat me right as we may be cousins...:)

I want to buy a Model 397 JD Belly mower either in good condition or one for parts. I need the left shaft for the 397 and also a set of blades.This mower was built to fit a 820 JD from 1973 to 1978. JD tells me the shaft is no longer available. Any help would be greatly appreciated.<br>

Thanks for all of your information and advice. It does smoke for a second at start up and then runs clean and smooth with no noticeable smoke. So sounds like it's normal.

You will spend more time and money dealing with the issues you are creating than you would getting set up with the right equipment. There are several issues with your plan that need to be considered:

Your manual transmission may not move at the creep rate you need for the trencher. A couple good obstructions on the trencher will probably ace the transmission in the Craftsmen.

A secondary gas engine with a 21hp gear reduction box is going to cost you a couple thousand bucks. Add in mounts, couplings, etc., you see where this is going.

The trecher is going to bounce that trailered 3pt get-up like a cinched bronco.

Sounds like a fun science fair project, but probably not a money maker. Get the right piece of equipment to do the job SAFELY. As a previous poster already mentioned, approach this professionally, it will make your money back.

Trust me when I say that I don't mean this to sound negative, but there is an annual Ruge Goldberg (sp?)competition that your set-up might be a winner at. There is an American fascination with the creative and inventive mind that pulls pieces together into a working mechanism. You seem to have one of those minds.

But, SAFETY first. Have Fun.

There has been questions of using a 14 or 16 foot trailer to haul a CUT. I just updated my #8 photo to show my 2230 with FEL and box-scraper on my 18' trailer.<br>
