Sounds like my house. My kid has 90% JD toy tractors, but Dad has a NH in the garage.

FEL is a 5 minute operation at most. Mower deck is 3 minute. Front blower is easy onced the mount is on. Mount is 15 minute, blower is 2 minute.

Here is my low-tech low-cost solution to stumps. I have a tripod of 3 steel tubes (heavy duty) they are about 12' long. At the top they are chained together and a chain hoist (6 ton - cost $89.00 from some discount tools traveling warehouse) is attached to them. The three legs of the tripod are chained together to prevent the legs of tripod expanding outward. I bore a hole through the stump about 6" above the ground with a hand operated bore bit (usually very easy). Into the hole I slip a prybar. The end of a piece of chain is wrapped around the stump below the prybar, the other end is wrapped around the stump 180 degrees from the first in the same manner as the first end, so the looped ends are on oposite sides of the stump. The connecting loop of chain is attached to the chain hoist. I pull on the hoist chain and 12000 lbs of force pulls the stump up and right out of the ground. Tying both ends of the chain to the stump at 180 degrees offset ensures that the trunk does not split at the prybar and just yank it straight through the trunk. Total cost for the contraption was about $ 140.00. Total cost to operate: $0. I even get a little workout and havent met a stump I couldent pull, I dont need a FEL or a BH. Some stumps have been 16 - 18 inches in dia. and it usually takes me about 30 to 45 mins to do one stump - beginning to end. Plus I have the tripod for lifting all sorts of stuff thats really heavy, and I can leave it out in the rain if I get sidetracked by the kids and have to quit. Hope you come right.

the engine speed will not stop the loader from doing that it will only slow it down. the mass's control valve does not allow you do use two function at the same time. the 2210's control valve will you let do both fuctions at the same time.

Its a smaller world than people think...even the customers :) Fedex being one of those from past and present..For propriatry applications or imbedded ASIC
operations its seems like the better fit, I agree...
I like MS windows 2000 and XP, thats just me I guess. I have found it easier to create a product around that OS
that is not so dependant on custom drivers or commands to be compatible with simple devices or simple configurations. Just my own thoughts and experience nothing more than that. By creating a product for resale i need to have a clear idea who uses it, and how dependant the user will be on the provider/mfg. or will they be self sufficient (ideal)

Nowadays I stick with regional (for me) customers like financial insitutions and mfg's in the NY area...keeps my cupth full enough....
Its good to know you have extensive experience besides tractors, i will keep that in mind - you never know what opportunities arise...

As you point out a Front End Loader (FEL) mounted snow blade operates diffferently. My only experience is with front mounted blades on tractors and pickups with limited lift capabilities. Of the choice of a non FEL blade or a front blower I usually prefer the blower until we get that slushy icy mix. Hey but what is all this talk of snow it's still summer and isn't winter far away ;>) !<br>

I'm considering the purchase of a TC24 DA with FEL, backhoe, and 60" MMM. This tractor will be my primary mower so it will be cutting grass almost weekly. I've heard some rumors that it is difficult to switch between the backhoe and MMM on this tractor. Is this true? Does anyone do this on a regular basis? What is involved? If it is too difficult to switch, then I'm afraid it will discourage me from using the BH as much as I should, and therefore wouldn't be worth the BH purchase.<br>

As Mark mentioned a puff of smoke on start up and rapid large throttle increase under load is normal. I little smoke until the engine reaches operating temp. is normal as well. I am not sure about this but on older Kubota engines there is a smoke control adjustment on the fuel injection pump. I believe it had 3 or 5 different positions to compensate for smoke control. I am not sure if the newer engines have this or not. If you still think yours is smoking abnormally; you may want to look into this and see if you can make a smoke control adjustment to the injection pump if in fact there still is this feature on the newer engines.

I have done a 1050 clutch and Murf is right. Make some good rolling stands first. I assembled a back one fixed in place and a manueverable one utilizing a rolling jack. It wasn't overly complicated but definitely involved. Good luck.

And yes manual photos and illustrations do help.

Rankin has a top and tilt kit for the BX1800 and 2200. It might fit on the BX1500.

Bear in mind folks, 3 acres is a VERY small job from my perspective.

Even still, to rip up 3 acres of turf just because a small percentage of it is need of some work is over-kill, IMHO. I have 20+ years experience at growing turf and I would think about it twice before I did it, even if I was getting paid for the work, three times if I wasn't.

Aggresive top-dressing and overseeding is a much easier route, especially as a FIRST project.

Unless there are grades which need to be changed, I see no real reason for a total rebuild.

The other BIG concern would be if the builder "left the ground bare too long and quite a bit of erosion took place". Now to go in there and start blending what's left of the topsoil with the likely marginal sub-soil will make a lovely flat yard covered in CRAP for soil in places and not others, which means the grass will not be uniform across the yard.

Any farmer will tell you, too much topsoil beats not enough every time. By adding soil to the low (eroded) spots you are at least erring on the side of caution, as opposed to redicing the amount of topsoil by blending whats left with everything else below it.

Thank very much gents, I located the problem and the keyed stub had fallen out of the axle. I used the differential lock to get to the shed, backtracked and found the key.
I welded a small bead on both ends of the key as a preventive measure to prevent future failures.
The clutch works fine.
The advice from all is much appreciated

I am a tractor dealer in Ohio and have a used Steiner Front Loader for sale. It was built in 1984 and is in quite good shape for its age. Comes with 4 suitcase weights and mounting bar. Let me know if you have any interest in this or any other used Steiner or Ventrac Equipment

My first instincts would point me toward assembly problems, probably primary assemby. I don't know this for sure, but I think most of these Yanmar are crated and shipped without wheels, etc. Since its not a leak from a pressurized system, the leak probably didn't show up during secondary assembly in the states, or final assembly at the dealer. Since it's so new, it is reasonable to insist on a new machine, especially since Dennoace is worried about future problems. I know Deere will extend a warranty on a specific machine component to help customer satisfaction. I would insist on that as a minimum once its fixed.

If it has a loader and a diverter valve is set to the auxiliary position, I'd set it to remote (3ph only) to take the loader out of the system. If the relief valve squealing when no hydraulics are operated then it's an obstruction and the tractor shouldn't be run for long periods. If no relief valve sound is heard, I'd do the pressure test for checking relief valve pressure to see if the pump working. If there's good pressure and the diverter is in remote then a 3ph problem is likely. More about 3ph problems later if needed.
