I've been looking at the new CK30 with loader and backhoe. Also have checked out New Holland TC30 and Kubota 7510 similarly equipped. I want to do quite a bit of landscaping and such... I have 3 acres to play with and it needs a lot of work. Is this a good investment for what I want to do? Also the local New Holland dealer says the tractor is good.. but it will not have the resale value that his or a Kubota will.

Help please! My JD7 Backhoe has a broken crowd cylinder and I need to know where to get a complete one. I called surpluscenter.com and they need to know the retracted length as I have the bore and stroke info. Any help on getting the missing info would be appreciated. Thanks, Scott

You are increasing the torque when you gear down by a factor of six because you are increasing the force available. But this increased force is available over a decreased rotational distance so HP stays the same (minus extra mechanical losses). Horsepower is energy (1 HP ~ 750 Watts) and energy is conserved in all cases.

Please Help! The crowd cylinder on my JD7 Backhoe is broken and I need a replacement. Any resources to buy a new cylinder. I have one place, surpluscenter.com and I need to know the retracted length, (center of pin to center of pin). any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Scott

I believe I already have the [HYDRAULIC COUPLER KIT, REAR (2 HOSES)]. This is what the dealer had hooked up the FEL and connected to the plate above the top link. Item 15, 16, 18, is missing, but they don't look overly important. #16 just protects the hoses right?

I recently switched from Outlook Express email to Mozilla Thunderbird. Mozilla Thunderbird has some "learning" capability that allows you to indicate which messages are spam and then marks them that way and you get to trash them in bulk. I have found this to be a lot better than Outlook Express's filter option. I highly recommend you try it.

The guys are pulling the pump now as the pump motor was drawing 34 amps instead of the max of 9. The well guy says that if I want I can also replace the pipe with PVC as they have come out with some heavier weight stuff that can be put down 460 feet like my well, or to any depth no real limit. About $35 per 20 foot length. I guess it is only money.

Well, the one thing I've got to say is that a front blower might be faster for clearing moderate snows from long fairly straight drives. At least I know that my 3ph blower is willing to clear moderate snows faster than I'm willing to drive in reverse. But then, I'd loose a bunch of time clearing highway entrances and short wide areas. I get a lot of mileage by plowing short runs forward with the loader and backwards with the blower--all without turning around or driving back to the start without doing any clearing. I don't want to give up my loader especially since I'm very averse to playing on the highway or near it in order to clear enough of the shoulders.

I'll stick with my 3ph--easy for me to say I guess since I don't have a mid-pto but I do have a neck issue too and it's no problem. A physio once diagnosed my tennis elbows as resulting from my head not being on straight--some would suspect such even without a medical diagnosis.

The GST is actually much like many of the larger farm tractors with the power shift transmissions. It is a great transmission and has proven it's relaibility over the last 15 years in production. The newer 12 speed is the best so far and does work very smooth. The hydro's need to be in the right range to have the power at the chosen RPM. When used that way they are tough to beat in any job even those made more for gear drive tractors. The flexibility of the hydro's speeds without use of the clutch makes a large difference.

For double acting cylinders, make sure it is a 4-way valve. Many of the Prince valves listed in Northern have Load Checks on the work ports. Load checks help reduce drift in the cylinders.

Be carefull with the valves listed in Northern. Many of them are rated at 20gpm or higher. These are some pretty big chunks of iron. The Prince stack valves, I believe the SV series, are rated at 12gpm max, and are a little more manageable in size. They are equiped with load checks also. That is what I used for my rear remotes. You can get a power beyond port by ordering the right exit end for the valve. Assembling these stackable valves is very straightforward.

Another source for valves is SurplusCenter. They have a better selection of valves starting at 3gpm for smaller systems. Their prices are very reasonable, and have an excellent selection. They are also a good source for cylinders. Getting the right size cylinder and end configuration for the side link takes some hunting. I found my cylinders at SurplusCenter.

FWIW..From the bucket, go up the frame. First "hole" insert metal pipe long enuf to extend out other side. Loop chain around pipe, around front of bucket and around other side. Attach another chain to this out front.

I helped a neighbor move and spread 20 tons of 1" gravel this weekend. He had been huffing it with a wheelbarrow for a day and a half and barely made a dent in the pile. My BX with a dirt scoop (poors man's FEL) and a rear blade made quick work of the pile in just about three hours. The neighbor now has a severe case of "tractor envy". I can definitely see the need for a little extra weight on the front end though. I could only take about a half scoop before the nose was pointing to the sky! Does anyone know approximately what the suitcase weight kit for the BX costs?<br>

I really think you're a long way from a bargan with the Yanmar on E-Bay. A compact tractor without 4 wheel drive is almost an orphan, they have a very limited resale market. If you're going to be handling big rounds with any kind of safety you really need a full size 50 to 60 Hp farm tractor. First find a dealer that has been in business in your local aeria for a long time, tell him or her your needs and I'm sure they can set you up with a decant used tractor with a loader and 3pt. for very little more if not a bit less than the Yanmar on E-Bay. Especially when buying used tractore allways try to buy locally form a dealer with a good reputation, they need your business, you will need service at some point down the road, it just works out lots better for you and the dealer both. I really enjoy my compacts, but they just aren't adequate for big ropunds, best of luck. Frank.

I believe Kubota sewed Kioti a couple of years ago for falsely advertizing that they were built on the same assembly line. I'm sure some here will no more facts them on this but I believe a couple of Big Vig's from Kubota went off on there own to produce the Kioti & make more money. Personally in my opinion, I want the true, original article so I invested in Kubota & will stick with them.

I just bought a 1985 model 850 with only 180 hours and 8 pieces of equipment for $5000.00. I got a excellent buy on it from a relative. These are excellent little tractors, you won't be dissapointed with what it can do. Good luck

Used mine all last winter for snowblowing, stored in a garage, at it's coldest an easy count of one-thoussand, two-thousand, three-thousand was all it took on the pre-heat to start.
