Really strangewith this rod, no visible sign of any impact or abrasion, its just buckeled halfway up.Warranty issue ?

I like the way your dealer ran the lines. Basically I need to get a set of elbow couplers like you have to solve my problem. I wonder if I can add those to my existing lines or if I need to Buy all new lines?

With the Kubota you have a tranny choice....the fst with is a gear stick coming out th floor were the tranny is & a shuttle shifter lever on the left column & you have to use the clutch for any shuttle or gear changing, the GST with has the same shuttle lever to the left of your steering wheel but with a speed selector lever by your left waist with hardly any clutch use needed & Hst which is a pedal on the floor of your right foot. Puch with your toe to go forward, press with your heel to go reverse.

The 750 was 17 pto horsepower. I don't know the specs on the loader. The rear ag tire would be 9.5 X 24. Fronts would be 4 X 15 in 2wd and 6 X 14 in 4wd. These were very dependable tractors. They were replaced by the 770 and now the current model would be a 790.

thanks! I'll see what I cn put together. Doing my first big box-blade project (trail and driveway) tomorrow, and a top link is necessary!

I can't find any stats on what the length of a cat 1 or 0 top link is. Mine was about 14", which was a little long for the box to level out. Is this why everyone seems to cut and weld (a full cat 1?) one of these for their tractors?

Lift up the rear of the truck, tape a piece of string to the drive shaft, turn BOTH rear wheels one rotation forward TOGETHER and count how many times the string has wrapped around the driveshaft. 3-3/4 times = 3.77 almost 4 times = 3.91

The engine computor, abs, trans, etc. may get cranky with the wrong ratio.

Saw this trick in an old HOT ROD mag.

Thanks guys. That's all good information. I'd guess the 4310 with me on it weighs somewhere around 6000 lbs and the chipper is supposed to be about 5000 lbs so in that regard I'm in decent shape. I'll have to check the JD manual on towing capacity though. How do surge brakes work? If I could interface those with the electric brakes on the trailer it would be a very clean solution.

Just to expand on kw a little, a Power Beyond Circuit is a circuit in series with another hydraulic circuit. It is created at the PB port on the SCV, at the exit end of the valve. The valve body needs to be manufactured with the Power Beyond port, allowing "full" pressure fluid to flow to the circuit in series. It really isn't "full" pressure, since the volume of fluid and the total pressure used in the power beyond circuit is added to the first SCV load. In other words, if there is any load from actuation of the first SCV, it is deducted from the flow available on the PB circuit.

Another way to put it is that a SCV with Power Beyond Capability allows a seperate circuit to be "tapped into" an existing hydraulic circuit.

I would say that the small amount of driveway would
not warrant a blower, unless you have a ton of money
I would get a good backblade with sides and skids
I personally have plowed my one quarter mile drive way
and they areas around the buildings for 6 years with
a 6 foot backblade on my B2400
just this year i purchased a L3410 with a front snow-
blower, because my ill father lives with me in the
boondocks of N. Wisc.-If i need to get out fast, now
I can It all comes down to money I dont think
the amount of surface you have to clear warrant a
snowblower, be it rear or front

Some manuals will tell you to block the clutch pedal down about an inch give or take with a block of wood to prevent the disk and pressure plate for becoming stuck together during long term storage. My Kubota L245 operators manual stated to do this. I would think it would be a good operating practice to do this all the time if you don't mind the minor added bit of readying the tractor for use.

We try to keep our tractors as original as possible, so have never done a 12 volt conversion. Dad has un-converted an 8N, though.<br>

As far as a kit for the Cub, I think most people just improvise and adapt. Kits are available for some of the other IH tractors and, of course, for Ford N-series tractors.<br>

I'm not sure about the lack of a generator; I guess originally the magneto equipped tractors had no electric starter and thus needed no battery. It is not unheard of for a farm-use tractor to have no generator or a bad generator, and they just towed it to start, hand-cranked it, or charged the battery occasionally in the barn. But I don't believe the magneto could be used to charge a battery.<br>

My A was originally equipped with a magneto; Granddad converted it to distributor ignition because it (supposedly) wouldn't start when it was wet. But as far as I know it came from the factory with the generator and electric starter.<br>

Maybe try the Farmall forum at ytmag.com ...good group of IH guys there. Some may question why you're converting it, but I say to each his own.<br>

Yooperpete, I've never seen a resistor inline to the starter, but you'd probably need one to the coil; 12v to the coil will overheat and kill it fast. Same as ballast resistor on 70's era Dodge cars. The general opinion is the starter is run for only short periods of time, so the extra voltage isn't likely to hurt it.<br>

Hey, Iowafun. Smart move getting those dogs out of the wallows before filling them in... Congrats. Sounds like quite a few stories of post-purchase frustration but with a happy ending. I have alway marveled at the difference between the tractor industry and the auto industry for new machine sales. Buy a new car and you typically have in prepped and ready within a couple of days, even if the car has to come from another dealer. I suppose the difference is based in the fact that tractor buyers really do have so many choices to make, and so many add-ons available. I think most inventory out there is pretty baseline for the model. Probably even more so for a tractor your size. That's no excuse for the dealer ordering the wrong part number or for the parts network to move that slowly, whichever was the real cause.

Which county are you in in the Tall Corn State. I was raised in Story County, the son of a former JD engineer. Go Hawks or'Clones, whichever your preference... Pete

I'm really worried about the cab taking a beating with all the woods clean-up I need to do with it. The wife made a good point, if we mainly had fields/pasture the cab would be wonderful. Since we first need to clear much of the land to convert to pasture, that cab might not make it :).

So, I haven't completely ruled out the DK50c, but I really need to get a price on the Kioti DK65 with no cab and QT-FEL. If that's the setup you got, would you mind sending me a Personal Email with the price you got?? keith_d_johns1 at hotmail (sorry, had to bypass the automatic email address blocker).

Before I make a decision, I'm going to price the Kioti DK65 vs the Kubota M6800, compare the features, financing, price and then decide. I think I'm down to Kubota vs Kioti now. :-)
