Here's a stupid question - what color is the HST oil? I've got 12 hours on my 3130HST was checking fluids this morning. Hard to see the HST oil level - the dipstick 'looks' wet, but is the oil really clear?

I have been using my Kubota all summer in my vineyard without a hint of trouble. This morning the front loader and box scraper basically wouldn't move or only very slowly. No obvious leaks or damage. Where should I start looking for the problem? I understand there is a screen somewhere that might need cleaning.<br>

Thanks Art. I am looking for the strainers but don,t know where to look. I removed a 1" bolt on the right side of the transmission but no strainer. Please help. My kubota book does not tell me where to look. Thanks Dan

Brokenarrow, I'm so sorry for your loss. We lost my dad about five years ago and it still hurts. After losing him we discovered that the only audio recording of him we had was the greeting on the answering machine. We didn't have the heart to erase it, and I still get tears in my eyes when calling Mom and the machine picks up and plays his voice. We will keep you in our prayers, and please rest comfortably knowing that his daily troubles and pains are over and he is in a better place.

Well I don't know what happened with mine but I haven't had a single reoccurrence since I posted the original thread????? It has worked great. I haven't got around to replacing those cheep wire splicers:(

And my Drawtite does have the manual level controls.

I recently discovered when researching a brake controller on a used dump truck I just picked up is that many of the hitch companys that I am familiar with are owned by the same Parent company. Cequent ownes: Teknosha, Draw-Tite, Reese, Hidden hitch, and Wesbar just to name a few.
The brake controller that earthworks refers to is also sold as a Teknosha Prodigy.

Hopefully this info will help you with your next brake controller purchase.

If you finance your tractor through Kubota or JD they usually add the insurance in. That way if it gets damaged they fix it. If it fell off a truck and got totaled some people might not keep on paying for it, thats why the insurance. JD's coverage is cheap, Kubota is a little more. I have a full coverage,comp, liability insurance for my business equipment on top of that.

Denwood or anyone who might know,what is the history of the Yanmar engine that Deere is using? I have one in my machine, 4cyl 43 hp, it starts great even in sub zero runs smooth, I feel it's a little loud, maybe because of the low muffler, but I know nothing about how many hours it would be good for, is it a throw away,how long have they been around? Thanks

Chances are the three point hitch won't lift the front end on any well balanced tractor with a loader on it. I do believe that you should be able to lift such loads with your tractor. I would as a dealer looking for a solution be asking the same question that Chief did as to the filters and oil. I have seen filters that have been manufactured with the wrong median for paper and that be the problem so I would as well as an dealer request that the filters be Kubotas.

Parts availability is fairly good for this model. Rings & pistons would be items that would have to be ordered from Japan. I have parts books for it.

In addition to Tom's suggestions, I would recommend you check the battery, battery and frame ground as well as starter connections. Sounds like you may have a start system problem that is aggrivated by the heat of an operating temp. engine. A fault battery or ground/starter connection could cause this symptom. I would inspect and thoroughly clean ALL the connections (any relays included) and verify the battery is good with a load meter.

We have a couple pole buildings in the final stage of construction. I've been doing all the dirt work myself with the 4410, 430 loader, and the Land Pride box scraper. I kind of calculated whether I wanted to tackle that size job myself or hire it done. In total I'll have moved the equivalant of about twenty tandems of dirt, crushed rock and fill lime when I'm done. I've got a couple short days left to finish up, but my point is what a pleasure it's been doing all that with a tractor so capable of the job and so easy to operate. Kinda neat how with a full bucket of dirt or rock only one finger is needed on the spoke of the wheel to steer it. I've demoed hydros, but still won't give up the 12/12 reversers, but that's everyones choice, so buy what you like. So I agree, with 80 acres you'll be wanting to do heavyier jobs than you may think, so my vote goes for the 43 or 4410. Best of luck, Frank.

My garage is designed to house both my dump truck & Trailer while hitched up. The building is 50' long and each bay is 9' high with an overhead door at both ends so I can drive straight out the next morning. Well, With my old 790 I was able to fit no problem with the tractor on the trailer. When I first got my kubota, I forgot that it was so much taller then the old tractor. Luckily it only cracked the bottom panel of the overhead door & I have able to salvage it with some new hindges. You can hardley notice the crack now unless you are looking.

Like greg said, Do you have a local dealer? If so, is the warranty up? Have you had it repaired or are you doing it yourself. If they did not fix the problem, then you may be able to bring it back to them. Is the warranty parts and labor or just parts? Do any of you mechanics know what he should check on first? Good Luck!!!
