How about a longer hose on the hand wand and then make a extension for the wand handle out of something light enough to lift but stong enough to not bend? I am going back to my place next week and will add some water to the spray wand and see how far it shoots. Ever wonder how those "taggers" spray paint sides of rocks or over passes? Maybe you need to employ one of them to hang by their feet from your peak and spray the nest? LOL

Just wondering, I have a power sprayer that has a hose attachment for soap. I bet the sprayer goes 40-50 foot? Wonder if you could use something like that with a hose in a bucket of bug killer? Of course you better be fast on your feet!
The other morning I came back to my cabin from looking for bear. It was around 5:30 am and was pretty cold out. I had my porch light on all night, I have a birds nest on top of it. I just about grabbed the door handle when I notice about 50 ground hornets on and around my door and light!!!! Must of been there when I left but it was dark out. They were pretty sluggish since it was around 50 degrees. I sprayed every one of those little stingin
%$$#^(*$#. All week I would see one or 2 trying to find out wehat happened to what I think is a nest in the soffit.
I also had anouther wasp nest inside the soffit about 5 foot away from all of these. That also took me all week to shoot down each one coming back since I couls not see it to get it at night (its inside the alum. soffit)
ARGGGGG I cant stand bee's and hornets!lol

I think that is the one item I never was told about or asked about before I bought my tractor. Suppose I could take it in someday cause I would not have the patience to do it myself (or for that matter the knowlege) I will definitally get a spreader soon. The new pic I added (i think number 8 or 9) shows me spreading seed I also done fertilizer the same way. I have been using my buddys wheeler that has a good spreader on it but he was not available this week to ask if I could use it.
What do you think about pic 3 (I think) I made the 3pt hauler a few weeks ago? Works great!
Also I added a few pics of diggin the drainage ditch to my little pond. We just got a few big storms blow thru and I have no idea how the new crown with the ditch worked. Its killing me not to be there to see. My dad just had anouther heart attack and had to leave to go to the cities. Just anouther reason not to hold off on some things you really want, life is shorter than what we all expect sometimes, he also was just diagnosed with emphazima this week! Pretty tough week in my house hold!
If he pulls thru these next few operations it is going to be a long year for my wife and I having to help him out.

Hi, I ended up removing the knobs and cover to closely examine the shift mechanism. The lever was twisted, but the problem was down lower on the main shaft. After a thorough washing...and then after it dried I lightly sprayed some lubri. oil on the shaft and worked it back and forth. Bingo....now you can shift the pto with a single push of a finger!

Looking closer at this story, this guys curses out someone who helps him. Nevermined buying a POS used machine sold "as is" ...Ebay has nothing to do with this any longer, since they supplied the product at the price. They dont have to kiss the guys arse because he won an auction..
The guy sounds like he was a jerk, so they said have a nice day with your POS...I'm sure they can leave negative feedback on this guys ebay name as well...sounds like he earned it..

I have the gator's on my JD without the baffle. Cut is so fine, no grass trail left. I know the baffle helps, but it clogs them clumps with early morning cuts so you'll mow more often.

I see no reason to go to a 3830 here for anything that you have brought up. The pulling power is nearly identical between the two so why spend the extra money. I ythink that you would be suprised with what you can do. I've seen BX's pull 16" by 12' butternut tree's up hills and never get tired but will have to use low range.

mielkemanor; If your tractor has allways been stored in a heated building you could probably strech your oil change a bit. I noticed you're from CT. where the winters can be cold and nasty. During the winter and especially during spring months a lot of frost can collect inside an engine or transmission, when the weather warms above freezing enough to warm the engine above freezing the frost melts and runs down in the oil, it doesn't take long if you're not using the tractor enought to warm it up fully and evaporate the water out of the oil to gather more water than you'd think. One easy way to check is to loosen the oil drain plug enought to turn it with your fingers, turn it slowly till it's just holding by a thread, if water comes out first before oil I'd change it now, a couple tabelspoons isn't unusual for an engine that sees little use. That's also an easy way to check for an internal collant leak, let an engine sit overnight, do the same with the oil plug, if antifreeze comes out first, then it's the famous two words, "O- S---". Those are my thoughts, others may chime in too. Frank.

AC,,anealing does not mean more than one thing,,annealing means heating a part 100 degrees above upper critical temp. [about 1600 degrees for steel],held for an hour per inch of cross section,and very slow cooled,,in a furnace,,,this is to soften the metal,,,,,there are different heat treat process,but that is what annealing means,,,,and by the way,,you do not anneal when welding something,,,,,,,you all right chief? I try to tell every one not to buy a tractor off the Internet. The MTE 2000 is a Mitsubishi right? I am sorry about your experience, but it has come to be expected that when you are just a number on a computer you will be treated like one on the lot. This is why the company I work for (which is in the top 5 New Holland dealers in the country) does not do Internet sales. They have been around for more than 50 years and there is a a big reason for that. Dealerships have to have the understanding that not every one is going to be 100% happy but be prepared to make who ever is not happy beyond happy. We are very proud of our 97% costumer satisfaction rate.

Hope fully your luck will change with Corriher but it is unlikely, mainly because you did not buy New Holland but secondly They are just too "busy" to worry about you.

Glad to help Steve. I'm not saying the Jinma is a bad chipper, and I still think it's a good value, but if you use it a LOT you'd want to make some mods to it. As I said it's marginal for what we're doing - putting entire 25-30 foot douglas fir trees through it. I'm sure it would do better with smaller stuff fed slower. This one is going again and we will use it today - hopefully without any more downtime.

Interesting read on the Valvoline website. Sounds like good stuff. I would definitely stick with the 5w-40 rather than the 15w-40 if I lived in Wisconsin.

I have used Mobil 1 in my diesels and I am transitioning to Shell Rotella 5w-40 full synthetic, which has one sterling quality: Wal-Mart sells it for $13 a gallon.

I haven't owned diesels very long, but I have used Synthetics in some cars long term. It is possible to run a gasoline engine 100,000 miles and show no measurable internal wear.

If you want a loader 4WD is a must. You will also need implements. To make the comparison valid you'd need to add in the cost of 4WD, FEL, and comparable implements to the TC30 - I'm guessing at maybe $7000 for new stuff. This brings the comparison to $9k+interest for a 24hp machine vs. $17.5k for a 30 hp machine. Only your budget and needs can answer that, but it's always nice to have new stuff with a warranty. And tractor repairs can cost a LOT.
