Ken, brought up a good point about the torque as we are playing close with the numbers here but I would think that the larger tractor is the way to go as the 7610 is rated the same as the 2400.

I think this sounds like a fuel problem. When running out of fuel you can make a difference as to having to bleed or not! I was running a Cat 941 track loader the other day leveling out some heavy fill when it sputtered going over a small pile. I was quick to get on my way to the pump about 100ft away and it did drop a cylinder or two a couple of times on the way but I got it shut down still running smoothly. If the tank was further and it died on the way for sure I would have been bleeding the fuel system. When changing fuel filters some tractors can be done without extensive bleeding after to get them running. I've had some that fired right up after with only a small amount of blubbering for a few seconds after restart. Try to be sure the system is as full of fuel as you can get it before restart and open the throttle sto about half so the system cah clean it out better when it does stumble.

Murf's suggestions are good. I might disconnect the safety switches and jumper them to take the switches themselves out of the circuit and then jiggle the harnesses to see if I could get the fuse to blow. In addition, I'm not sure how close JD engineering places the solenoid start-up surge to the fuse size. Surge from a marginal solenoid might be enough to blow it.

In all cases I'd use an approved solution. You might check if a larger or slow-blow type fuse might be approved. NH went to a larger fuse for a similar problem.

The relief pressure for my Ford 1710 PS is 1000 psi with about the same flow. It also runs from a priority valve so maybe the 1000 psi provides a ballpark figure.

TSC and most all chain type farm stores sell lots of good stuff, and perhaps their fluids and filters are of the quality needed to protect your tractor, I really don't know. Even with one of my sons being in the oil business with a major oli company I still insist on using the dealer brand of fluid and filters. Fluid and fllters are free compared to parts and labor. Just my thoughts. Frank.

Talk to your local dealer as retail prices for rims and tires is 270 for turfs and 296 for the ag style. You might have an additional charge for freight.

My #48 hoe is getting a lot of use hours acumulated by now since it was new. While on the tractor one outrigger will drop to ground over night the other one doesn't, the boom will settle about half way and the curl will change too. The # 430 loader bucket cylinders will droop a bit, but the boom cylinders never drop a speck even overnight. That's just been the nature of the beast since it was new, nothing settles any faster now than it did on day one. In the meantime the hoe and loader were transfered from a 4300 to the 4310, the same cylinders settle the same amount on the ten series as they did on the double zero series. I've had lots of farm equipment that one machine will settle and another would hold up for weeks. With such a small amount of Hy Guard needed for the system of a CUT I usually change the fluid and filters at a hunderd hours or less. I said something to one of the JD techs about using regular Hy Guard instead of Lo-Vis, his response was "Please don't", he did'nt elaborate, so I did'nt ask. Frank.

I have been pricing the DK55C and have been getting numbers for TLB at 31.6K, which puts the Tractor at around 21-22k. Pricings have more aggressive than the numbers posted. Shipping cost is what gets you.

Roger, a point well made. I was doing some dirt work the other day with the 4410 and loader, had the box scraper on for counter ballance, bucket was full and aprox. three ft. up. While backing up one rear wheel droped off a ridge, the tractor ballanced a bit with one rear wheel off the ground but thank goodness went back down. We just have a standard policy around here of never starting an engine whether it be on a compact or our largest farm tractor without fastening the seat belt, so my belt was fastened. So no matter whether you've driven tractors for 50 years,(Me), or driven your first tractor yesterday, please fasten your seatbelt if your tractor has a roll bar Work safe. Frank.

Hi, h20camper. I've always had a blade for snow and a FEL for everything else. Having both really is the best of both worlds, and the blade you have will amaze you in the snow. My $0.02 is to save up another $1,800. However, if I had to choose only one it would be the FEL. Pete

Jeffro, I haven't bought a lawn tractor in a while. I bought a used gravely lawn tractor about 15 years ago and it never breaks. I used to love the Wheel Horse my father-in-law had. I also know my cousin still uses the Simplicity his Dad used as a kid. I recently saw Snapper mowers and was impressed with them.

I looked at the CC and see that it has direct drive to the transmission - no belts. I couldn't tell much about the Simplicity construction from the web site. I would favor the machine with the minimum number of belts, the strongest but simplest construction. I would also want to know where the closest place to get parts for each machine is. There aren't too many places that sell gravely parts any more.
