Hinomoto uses a standard pto size & rotation. The slowesr speed is the correct speed. Run engine at near full throttle to have the correct speed at rated hp. Kubota & Mitsubishi used counterclockwise rotation with smaller shafts on a couple US & Japanese models. This fact has been blown way out of perportion to discourage the purchase of Japanese model tractors.

What model Simplicity do you own? I am in the Cub Cadet vs. Simplicity mode right now. I am torn between a Simplicy Broadmoor 16 h.p. Kholer and 44" deck vs. a CC 2186 with a 20 h.p. Kholer and a 44".

What should I buy? Please, for the love of sod what should I buy?

what is the deal on taskmaster tractors? they look to me like a dongfeng. Am I correct? Does anyone know about customer support from a parts standpoint? Around here I have only two options: John Deere or Taskmaster. Talk about two ends of the spectrum. There are other brands further away but because of my heavy community involvement and being in business I want to keep it local. I'm looking at the 26hp with a FEL for $14,900 CDN (roughly $11,400 US).

Cadets have safety interlocks that go out of adjustment. Wiggle your rear PTO while turning the key.

I bushhogged with my 4310 for a couple hours today and paid extra attention to heat around the floorboard. Under some turning and wind conditions I felt a whiff of hot exhaust at my left foot but this didn't happen very often. If the heat you're feeling is mostly on the left foot I bet the spark arrestor would reduce it a bit. For about $20 it would be a cheap thing to try.

bmlekki- no its not all forest. thats actually what I love about it. aside from the ugly swamp willows it is very park like. I've been mowing the majority of it with a finishing mower the whole time. The trees are spaced very nicely, and are a great mix of species.
murf- I'm not a "premium" member so I didn't catch the end of your post. Do you know Emo? I'm actually on 670 acres but am only mowing 3. I live 2 miles out of the rocking metropolis of 1200people.

Hi, can I ask you what caused you to replace the motor...i.e. what were the simptoms you were experiencing that led you to realize it was the drive motor. Also where did you get the new one and how much. Thank you very much for the info..

YOOPERPETE, The driveshaft joints are easy, the ball joints do require a special toolto reinstall the seals on the spindle.I borrowed it from a friend who is the parts manager at a dealership. I also put ggreasable u joints in the front half shafts, they were ok, but I didnt want to have to tear it down again in a year just for the joints,since I'm hopeing the greasable ball joints will last 100k or so.I also drilled the driveshaft slip yoke for a zerk, the spline was dry and rusty.The secnd time around I went with the cheap chineese rotors [$39]. They are still on and dont pulse a bit !I also found that the Wagner "Thermo-Quiet" pads dont heat soak the rotors as bad and are totally quiet.

I am trying to find out a pressure setting for a hydraulic proportioning valve on the steering of a 250 Belarus tractor. It has 2 pressure regulators for the demand system, one for the endloader and one for power steering. The part we are trying to order, we have to have a flow setting, which is 1.5 gpm, and a pressure setting, which we do not have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My 03 Cub Cadet 3204 should have its hydrostatic filter and oil changed every 150 hrs. of operation according to the owners manual. Tractor Supply Co. gets $10/qtfor this stuff and $10 for the filter. This tranny takes 5.5 qts. so this costs about $75 with tax just for the materials to do it myself. Are there any other brands of hydraulic fluid that will work well in this tractor?

I just bought an L 4330 with a Cab and a FEL. So far I love it. Handles like a dream with the HST. I have only a few hours so in a little while I will have some questions. Can I buy the filters somewhere other than the dealer? And I think I want the Super UDT oil when I change. Dealer says at 50 hours only change the filter but I think the manual says otherwise, Oil and Filter change....Thanks for reading, I'm new and not a premium member so I may not can read the complete post. Sounds Good time to buy some Gators, However I cant seem to find a number that crosses. I called Kubota Dealer he said OEM blade number is K5651-34330 fro a rck60-24B deck. I cant seem to find a matching gator blade to that deck/mower and dont know enough of the details to see if one of the others will work. Any Ideas?

I agree with the idea of cutting it periodically with a rotary cutter. You can go over and touch up any trouble areas with glyphosphate. Eventually, any vegetation capable of supporting a fire of any consequence will be gone and perhaps some type of native grass you can sew. I doubt much of anything would grow well in that climate; hence the suggestion for sticking with a native cover vegetation. I would strongly suggest checking with your local agricultural extension agent or NRCS representative for some assistance and recommendations.

I think the key to the mystery is that it goes through the two safety switches. If somewhere in all that electrical wandering there is an intermitant short a 3 amp fuse will lead a very short life indeed.

I would look for anywhere the wire rubs a sharp edge, a misaligned switch, etc., and don't just glance, get the wire in hand a nd roll it around examing every side of every inch.

The only other possibility is that the solenoid is defective and overloading the supply line tyo it but that's a pretty remotre possibility.

A 2210 is recommended for a 48" 3 point finish mower, but can handle a 60" as well. If it quite thick you may bog down a bit. A general rule of thumb to use is 4.5hp per 12" of finish mower
