Bobodude, there are certain advantages to living in Canada, like having good beer available, and an easy way to keep it cold.

Of course storing it that way in the winter is bad, it slushes up too fast, but in the summer like that it works good.

A friend of mine sent me this message below concerning an electrical problem he's having. I've never heard of this particular issue, nor had his dealer. Does anybody have any ideas??<br>

Unfortunately, scammers and scoundrels everywhere now how to exploit the anonymity of the Internet.

What Kubota is doing is merely good business practice, the same as a whole host of other companies. Go the GM, Ford or Daimler-Chrysler websites and see for yourself. They will happily give you the MSRP for a given vehicle, they will even tell you the cost with the exact options you want. Do the dealers sell them for MSRP, not if they want to actually sell something.

Corporate espionage is a big threat to any business. It can be as big as stealing key employees, or as little as shopping the competition for pricing. The solution, make a live person do the pricing face-to-face, not anonymously over the Internet.

If that's illegal or unfair, then why didn't somebody tell me when McCarthy came back to life?

I'm replacing a leaky rear axle inner seal on a 53 Jubilee. OEM part seems to be coated with a metal plating (stainless?) and the inner portion of the seal seems to have a leathery consistency. There are no p/n markings except for a "CR" imprinted on the face. The shop offered a replacement seal which seems to be a poly type of construction. Does anyone know if this replacement is sufficient or if a OEM type (plated) is available? Tried random search on web but no luck so far. This is a one time job so want to get part that will last!! Thanks.

Sounds like you're describing a female quick-connect coupler. There are various types and they do go bad. Replacements couplers and o-rings are usually in stock at most dealers.

If this is a rear valve controlled circuit there should be two hoses with quick-connect couplers. I don't know if you've ever used the circuit but it's important the hoses to the implement are fitted with compatible male couplers.

If nothing were attached, I wouldn't expect much leakage unless the valve was operated when the tractor is running. If the couplers are good they would hold pressure and a relief valve would open and squeal. The valve has to be operated in both directions to test both couplers. The valve should be operated in both directions after the tractor is shut down to relieve the pressure or it's difficult to attach hoses. When nothing is attached, rubber dust covers should be used but they wouldn't prevent oil leaks

Sounds like it might be the tach itself, and I don't think many are serviceable. I'd probably remove and grease the cable with white grease or a specialty lubricant. However, I'd be aware that there'd be a very slim chance that a broken part in the send unit could be released by removing the cable and then drop into the oil pan.

Greasing the cable would incidentally determine if the cable were broken. I might also hook the cable end to a variable speed drill motor and run it at half speed with the cable as straight as possible. If the rpm then were constant the tach unit wouldn't be the problem. I'm not aware of anything like a slip clutch in tach drives but I guess anything is possible.

I think that Tractor Supply Company and other chains like them carry King Kutter and Howse brand tillers. I've found that the KK equipment is fine for non-commercial use. Usually the 60" tillers are about $1100.

Are you sure you can use a tiller on your 8N? Everybody that I know that has tried it (without a Sherman transmission) has said the tractor won't go slow enough to till well. Just what I've heard. We always used our MF 135 for tilling because it is the only tractor we had (until I got my New Holland) that has a low range.

I seem to be getting 6-7 hours per 5 gallons of diesel. I have never measured it exactly, though. I'd say probably a little closer to 6 than 7, running at 2900 RPM and mowing with 62" MMM and wheel weights. I have over 100 hrs on my 2210, with no major complaints other than the lack of a temperature gauge.

Thanks for the varied opinions.
I do have studded chains all the way around and understand the liabilities envolved with this. My neighbor whom I share the driveway with has a Kubota L3130 with front mount Kubota snow blower so if I have anything major he can come in (the blower is amazing). Considered a blower but with the grade of my driveway, need to get even a few inches off and didn't think a blower was practical.
I had a Dodge 4X4 with Western plow but the truck is pretty used up, rust, mech. issues. Plows tend to beat up the front end of a truck pretty fast.

You could always have the best of both worlds. There are six way hydraulic blades that go right on the loader. Borgford makes them and there may be other manufacturers. Not sure if they have 'em for a 210 loader though.

Nice work! I added two cup holders to my 7800. Got the floor unit at Walmart, it fit perfectly between the seat and the cowl. Not sure what to do with the change holders though. Not much use on the tractor.

The telescopic "Lower Links" are not standard equipment on the 7800. You need to go with the 2910 to have them as standard equipment. They can be added to the 7800, but not sure what the cost would be new.

I WAS WONDERING WHAT A FAIR PRICE WOULD BE FOR THIS BACKHOE.THE GUY WHO IS SELLING IT THINKS IT IS A 1970.THE MODEL # ON THE BACKHOE SAYS MF34 BUT THE FRONT LOADER SAYS MF 40,IS THIS LOADER FROM ANOTHER BACKHOE OR DO THEY REFER TO THE MF34 AS THE MF 40.THIS BACKHOE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLUTCH,YOU CAN'T TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR UNLESS YOU SHUT IT DOWN.
