Beagle: Are you sure? I ran my BX2230 out of fuel once, (yeah, really bad idea) and after filling, it started and ran (badly for only a few minutes) afterward with out bleeding.

I'm going to be the dissenting opinion on this thread, I can see it coming.

We have plowed commercially for years with CUT's equipped with FEL & frame-mounted plows. See my pic. # 6. In certain instances they will plow circles around a pickup truck with a plow on it.

I maintain my own place and a bunch of neighbours with a 7.5" pickup blade mounted on the FEL, the bracket only is shown in pic. # 18, it connects via the trailer hitch and created the wear strip visible on the lower horizontal member.

We plow some rural areas (private cottage roads & driveways) that a typical 4x4 has problems climbing AFTER we plow.

I used to run that plow on a 35hp machine, but that was a bit of a stretch considering it was on turf tires. A 5' blade should be OK, but you will have a few problems if the snow is deep or wet. Raising the blade and plowing it of in two layers might work, experience with your local conditions will tell.

The only thing I use the brake pedal for is to hold the thing still while I change gears.

The HST will bring it to a stop on slopes too steep to stand on.

350+hp pickup trucks are a necessity not a toy, a 600hp pickup is getting carried away with toys.....LOL.

But the mudflaps are a good advice, I have them on the rears, but there's a spot between the front wheel well and the front of the running board that's bare steel from the stones and sand.

You want the material in the roadbed to be of uniform compaction. If all you do is fill the potholes they will be back in short order.

If there are the remnants of potholes still in the road bed you should start by thoroughly breaking them up with the scarifiers, then add new material and groom it out.

Are you sure you have enough clearance?

There were spots on my BX22 where I could barely get my fingers between the tires and the fenders or framework.

It is very easy to remove the FEL..... 5 minutes max.

Then you attach a small sub-frame to the front of the tractor with a couple of cross pins. The blade slips onto the sub-frame and you hook up the hydraulic lines.... another 10 minutes max...and much faster after you have done it a couple of times.

Everybody that I know drives automatics. You should be able to get 250,000 to 300,000 miles out of a diesel. I sold my old '89 F-250 V-8 to a local farmer when I got my 02 F-250 V-8. It is still running strong but he ruptured a brake line and broke off the exhaust going through harvested cornfields and plowed ground. I had the bed Rhino coated since the paint and galvanized coating was worn off from shoveling driveway stone and the box started to get rusty.

Art, Great thought! The majority of my property is wooded and I am maintaining around 10 acres of food plots of various sizes. My 3130 only can handle a 1 bottom plow decently and a small disc, thus the reason to look at a larger tractor. I will take your advice and look for a good used 2 wheel drive tractor that will support 2-3 bottom plow and 8' disc etc. What HP should I look for in the used to handle my needs? Gas or diesel? I will keep my 3130 for loader, skiding & other work and use the 2wd for farm type work! Thanks again Art for your as usual Great feedback!

Another thing I forgot to mention is the tranny now seems to grab much better, when climbing or creeping with the Super UDT.

My local dealer actually told me he doesn�t use the super UDT, and tried to sell me way off brand stuff that he says he buys by the truck load. I said no thanks and drove two hours away and got the Super UDT.

I now realize the dealer makes a whole lot more profit on his generic stuff, and he gets to repair my tractor when it fails...and could care less that it runs better when I�m on it.

Again regarding the hot-foot issue, I just remembered that I have a spark arrestor on my 4310. It extends the exhaust by a few inches, maybe that's enough to mitigate the heat problem. You might look into one, they're less than $20 IIRC.

Kubota's 513 model works just fine for utility work. The 723 has the the advantage of the bucket linkage being better and a little more reach but for the needs it seems you have the 513 would be a good unit.

You probably know better than I that most 3ph's in draft control mode are either fully up or fully down unless an implement is working.

If the hitch lowers at normal speed the flow control valve probably isn't the problem although it should turn without need of a pliers. Maybe there's a packing nut that's overly tight.

It might be a linkage adjustment problem. There are cams and pins in draft control linkages that become worn, and usually there's a way to adjust the lowering spool. Testing and adjustment procedures are given in my repair manual, but adjustment procedures for neither position or draft control adjustments are mentioned in the owner's manual. You do need a manual but part of the linkage probably can be disconnected so the lowering spool could be operated manually to see if an adjustment is likely to cure the problem.

Pardon me for saying so but if your Tractor is still under warranty you might be money ahead to return to your dealer and let them install their brand with the kit made to match your Tractor...

On my TC 30 there is a data plate on the engine. It should tell you what model year the engine was certified for.
