I never have figured out a way to successfully carry tools on my tractors. The only thing that seems to work is to incorporate some storage into your rear ballast system.

I'm getting concerned about Ebay. I was trying to buy a motorcycle for my son and ran into a scam twice! Both were pay to Western Union and we will ship the bike. You have no recourse with Western Union and they know it. I reported the fraud to Ebay and they pulled the guys off. You can report them on the Ebay site. I encourage you to do so. It is a shame that people always find a way to try and cheat others. I have bought a bunch of big ticket items on Ebay and been pleased for the most part. I did buy them a couple of years ago when it was still a new service. Now the thiefs have figured it out!

You make a very good point Ken, my little peice of quiet countryside just happens to be on a side-road a few miles south of a large sand & gravel pit. The township passed a noise bylaw that includes Jake brakes and loud exhaust last year and it helped a lot, but there is always one who tries to get away with it now & then.

The worst is in the spring during pothole season, the dishes rattle when a loaded truck hits one at full speed.

Congrats Deeeno,

I am really enjoying the 4710 I purchased a couple of months ago. It is amaizing what these tractors will do. I am sure it would do even more in the hands of someone who was experienced in the proper way to approach a job... I look forward to finding out :-)

Take some pictures of your unit when it is delivered, I didn't get that done and really wish I had.

Frank, it might be easier to mount the pump under the front end of the tractor, use a shaft running in a set of carrier bearings and have a splined sleeve which slides back & forth along the shaft forming a sort of clutch to make the pump turn or not. If the shaft and sleeve were the same spline as the mid-PTO shaft it would be fairly easy to do. If you wanted to get really fancy you could come up with some sort of lever to act like a clutch fork and slide the sleeve without even getting underneath the tractor.

I suspect that you're going to need a lot more than a 3/4" quick coupler to get enough flow on the return line, although I suppose you could always run 3 line sets & connectors, 1 for the pressure side and 2 for the return, as long as they each had a big line from the motor to the tank so it wouldn't cavitate.

Another idea would be to make the pump & tank into one 3PTH-mounted unit. You could then use something like a stout timing chain from a big V-8 engine to increase the PTO speed so that the tractor would just have to run at a high idle and still spin the pump fast enough. The pump won't take much power relative to what the tractor can produce even at just idle. Might make life easier being able to pick up everything at once.

If you have a true creeper gear/range the trencher will work nicely on a geared tractor.

No, it was sitting level. I've filled it numerous times over the years, always until it runs out the fill hole, and this is the first time it has done this.

I'd check for paint or burs on the coupler. I think that getting the splines aligned up has become more aggravating since pto brakes became almost universal. Shields make turning the shaft difficult. I don't have a brake but if I need to reposition a shaft I tend to do it from an implement auger or blade. From the shaft, it's tougher to rotate it if it's at a sharp angle. For additional leverage there may be enough room between the shields to use a strap wrench somewhere.

It's hard to tell but I'd lay odds on it you will enjoy the new larger tractor. I hope it fits all the holes that the B-7100 did or they adaptable.

The 460's were part of what we called hot rod tractors. Tough to get the power to the ground and with the 6 they were quite reponsive on the throttle. I think you will find your new tractor quite enjoyable!

I bought my BX22 a year ago and have put 70 or so hours on it. I live in New England with 3 very rocky and heavy clay filled acres. I've dug trenches, post holes, graded, mowed, pulled trailers, moved gravel, plowed, rolled round bales,and have had little to no trouble. JD does not make a comparable unit it this size with a bh and no one builds them as strong and as integrated as the BX in a subcompact. I bought the bar tires in addition to the turfs I had for only three hundred for the complete set. They are easy enough to switch out. Find a good dealer, I also would not go back to my original dealer but have found others in the meantime that have been real and service.

I had the same problem with my TC33D.After 210 hours struggling with a very hard to move 3pt lever I could not take it any more.To fix the problem I removed the nut on the shaft that goes into the block and greased the two washers behind the nut. Reassemble washers and hand tighten nut. Reattach linkage and check lever.Adjust the tension on the nut until lever moves freely.If nut is too loose the lever will fall down on its own.Must put cotter pin back thru nut when tensioned correctly. Don`t even attempt this without first removing tire.
