You mentioned that you were repositioning the load. The tractor rear tire should behind the rear trailer tire and the front tractor tire should be just ahead of the front trailer tire. That way the majority of the load is directly on the trailer tires and springs. The front of the tractor is slightly heavier, putting about 500-1000 lbs. weight on the tongue. You tongue should only sag about 2-3 inches. I still think your truck is marginally capable rather than the totally incapable feeling that you have.

They appear to be identical. The Boltons they show on their website are painted green and most of the Jinmas I've seen are red, but the when the replacement feed roller for my Jinma arrived it was green.

Thanks Tim...all good suggestions. Solid tires sound like way to go. Currently borrowing a AGCO 2020 48" Elect deck...has anti scalp front and underdeck...comes in handy for me. (Well built machine IMHumbleO). My Cub bit the dust...oil leak between upper/lower eng assembly...needs new gasket I suppose. Good excuse to wife to upgrade ;-)

The small threaded zerks are threaded into a 1/4-28 threaded hole. The larger ones are 1/8 NTPT as stated before. If you are removing a treaded zerk, drill the center out to fit the correct size EZ-Out. Left hand drill bits work great here because if the zerk breaks loose, it will just back it's self right out. If you are trying to get a press fit zerk out, try the EZ-Out method first, then if that doesn't work you will have to drill it right to size. The nice thing about getting zerks out is there is already a hole in the center to guide the drill.

I find it interesting that petushead took the time and made the effort to start a whole new thread, in which he almost says something nice about his tractor.

Even more interesting is the fact that he couldn't take a moment to reply to my post to him in the "My Experience with New Holland" thread from a week ago where I pointed out a bunch of inconsistencies in his claims.

BTW, exactly how does a crossbar that sits a few inches ABOVE the hood cause a dent in it?

Very nice job Frank.

Two suggestions for you on your proposed hydraulic system though if I may. First make your fluid reservoir out of heavier material, it will dissipate heat better, and will be easier to work with. Mounting brackets, welded in fittings, etc., are much easier and usually leak less with thicker wall material. Secondly, if you make the reservoir in such a way that you can hang it from the 3pth, it saves you having to pick it up and set it down when not in use. You will also have room for more capacity than if it was underslung, and of course more fluid means the temperature will be lower since there will be more heat transfer.

I think if you set it up just right you might be able to just back up over the pump, hitch the tank up, lift the pump into place and go.

It might be easier to mount the pump at the front and run a drive shaft to it, it would make removing the pump when not in use a LOT easier than trying to belly mount it.

From the list of implements I guess the intent is to use the loader for snow plowing. I don't think that works great except in places that don't get heavy snows. There is a bunch of reading on the subject in the archives.

I wouldn't count on the snow sliding off. You might check but I don't imagine that snow-loading codes assume it's going to slide off either.

We have an unheated screen porch at our camp that has a steel roof and 2x6 rafters. It has a minimum pitch for steel roofs without going to low angle roofing. I don't know how that compares to a 12/12. I can say that the snow doesn't necessarily slide off and I rake it several times a winter. I think what happens is that the air on the inside of the porch melts the snow a bit on warm days. If the snow then doesn't slide off then it freezes to the roof. If that happens then it has to wait for an even warmer day and support any additional snow as well--good chance that making sugar would cause it to slide off with a little encourgagement from a rake though.

We have an old 'lean-to' type sugar shed a little larger than that which has stood more than 50-years with 'real 2x4's' for rafters. The walls were getting a bit splayed and the roof sway-backed though. I did some probably over-designed remedial work and it has been fine.

Sorry I can't say if a bota scraper has a rear cutter or not. I've always thought of them as universal features that come in fixed and swinging types but who knows. One without a rear cutter would have the advantages of a swinging model but also without the ability to use it like a poor man's dozer. I forgot that I also use mine for back-filling trenches so I find the rear cutter pretty useful.

A swinging (or missing) one does provide a greater range of useful blade angles than a fixed model. A fixed one will roll back on its rear cutter and lift the front one if the top-link is extended very far. That works for spreading but at the expense of very fine scraping. For aggressive cutting in soft soils, the depth of cut in a fixed model is limited because the rear cutter will come down on the ground even if the top-link is very short.

I suspect the advantages of a swinging type are marginal except for very fine use. If I wanted them I'd look at a swinging model. I don't think I'd want to give up a rear cutter just for some 'fineness' in my otherwise crude use. A tool doesn't need to be better than the user. 'Course I've only used a fixed model so I may not know what I'm missing.

Beagle, you have to keep moving it repeatedly for each 1/4" of movement you need. Unlike a standard hitch where they are harder to index as to exactly your hitch movement will be.

Hello to all those that have posted on this string. Thank you for your answers over the last few days. I think I know understand better the question of lifting. The last few post were good about break out force. Which I checked before bying the 4110. I had a 455 which had a very low break out forch and why I have steeped up to the 4110. So this leads me to another question.
On flat ground with grass cover clay and some black loom will I be able to bust the ground and shave off the top ground to about 6" to a 1 foot with out hitting it over over like I did my my 455.
I am waiting to pick up this baby the deck still has not come in to the dealer it has been 8 days now. I a m going nuts.
Maybe tomorrow.

I have had my 2210 and land pride PHD now for about a month. <br>
have only put in five posts around the chicken run so far but the PHD works just fine. The only concern is the clearance when fully lifted, may have to mod the back body a little to stop me worrying about it. Only a one inch trim...also there is an aux ele. wire plug there which needs to be moved as it gets pinched by the Phd arm at full lift.<br>
anyway if you own a 2210 and are thinking of buying a PHD then the land pride 10 is a good bet.<br>

From the sizes you have stated of two of your tools it is easy to see why you might like more horsepower. It is important to remember that many machines are rated by
pto horsepower not engine as most compact tractor manufacturers talk.
