The rear axle is the pivot point when you are worried about keeping the front end on the ground...... a 5 foot brush hog on a 4110 and with no FEL comes to mind.

If you were looking for a new trailer and described your 4110 I think most trailer dealers would recommend construction trailer style ramps, not a landscape trailer style gate. Some extra reinforcement aligned with the 4110's tires to support the expanded metal is probably the least you should do. Don't wait until the expanded metal gets stretched or you'll have more work to do. The 1/2" hinge pin should be OK as long as there are several mounting points on both the trailer and gate along its length (like a long piano hinge) to distribute the shear force.

Do you have the IMatch on your 3pt? I have read that some 2210 owners have had their PTO break because is wasn't the right length when using a 3pt implement. Did you have to cut your shaft down?

My emergency backup/dirty job saw is a Poulan that takes a 40:1 mixture, and I've been using one of those auto-measuring plastic jugs to add the oil.<br>

Only this time, I got my usual gallon of gas, then went to dump in the oil, and ooops... not enough. Like a little over 1/2 as much as needed.<br>

I assume I could get away with a *little* less, but this is probably pushing it. Is there something else I can add to eke it out? Auto oil, bar oil, gearbox oil?

I am looking at the CK20HST with FEL, Hoe, Box scraper, Post hole digger, tiller. I am wondering a few things. <br>
What would be a good price on this package? <br>
What would be the simular models in Kubota, JD, and NH? I am interested only in the HST at this time honestly. <br>
Does the CK20 take all standard Cat 1 impliments or does it fall into the same boat as the BX2230 where the arms don't extend as far? <br>
How would the tractor do towing a 18 foot flat bed trailer in and out of a sloped yard? (My truck does it fairly easily in low range but bogs in high) <br>
I have considered the CK30 but I think the CK20 is going to work a little better day to day on the sloped lot. <br>
Also if I get the tires filled, will I notice a lot of the extra weight as in a loss of over all power? <br>
How far is the mounted hitch off the ground on the CK20 (I forgot to measure when I was at the dealers)? <br>

I'm considering either a M4900 or 5700 vs JD 5220 or 5320. I can get retail prices of the JD's on their website, but havinga hard time getting Kubota retails. <br>

The only reason why I'd like to compare retails is that I'm a member of a buying co-op that quote about a quarter off of JD(only) list prices, thus Kubota lists will give me a target to negotiate towards. On either will be 4X4,a FEL, and 8' mower. I generally lean towards the Kubotas due to the std equipment(ie no charge extra ISO deck, syncshuttle and fully sync trans,rear SCV-- JD wants almost 5K for these as options!)<br>
Feedback on comparison of these two brands and models? THANKS!

I don't mind hauling it to someone, but I don't trust the dealer guys here. They seem dishonest and uncaring. Tried to sell me an oil filter for $25.

I'm just trying to get something done on my own to hopefully get it right.

I thought of spraying simple green in the front side and flushing it out of th back side. It won't get in the hoses because the only hoses still on are the ones to the loader, and they come up fromt he valve.

I am just scared of blowing it dry with compressed air as I don't know what loose parts are in there.

By the way, what do you use (if anything) of hose threads to prevent leakage?

The blade goes up and down opposite the front wheels too. It'll drop the blade and gouge before a bump when the fronts go over a hill if the blade angle is too aggressive, and it'll lift the blade when cresting hill as well.

How much the blade follows the ground contour is controlled by the 3ph float. A 3ph is in float when its position is set lower than an implement that's resting on level ground. That determines how low it can go. 3ph's aren't held on the ground and they all will float up over hard spots. Lowering the position increases the amount of float. The blade weight and attack angle rather than the 3ph position determines the cutting action.

For leveling wash board with a blade, some angling helps keep the blade from dropping into the dips so tends to cut the tops off and fill the dips. It also moves material off to the side where it may have to be re-spread. A scrapper with side plates can carry material on the front of its blade.

My browser does that sometimes with several 'log-in' sites I use but not this one. I haven't figured out if it's when I spend a lot of time reading stuff and there's been no browser activity or if it's when I link to another site through the page I'm on. When I get the 'expired page' message there's a prompt to 'resubmit information' and that usually works.

I imagine that you'll have a manual that gives procedures and any required adjustments. I think that many new or rebuilt pressure-plates are pre-adjusted but the finger heights on some need to be adjusted. My manual calls for a gauge but there are probably tricks to avoid using a gauge. Double clutches often require more adjustments and call for more special tools. It'd probably be good to replace the pilot bearing(s) while you're at it and inspect the flywheel.

Some care taken to pull the tractor apart in a straight line and maybe chulk the jack so it doesn't move may simplify the alignment tinkering. On many 4wd tractors blocking the engine rails against the front axle has to be done unless an over-head hoist is used. Without blocks, the front-end can turn on its pivot point and fall over.

Brokenarrow, I've did just such a thing quite a bit in the past. Harvey is giving you some real good advice. Pre rip it at least twice before puting any wire down the tube to be real sure all the rocks, roots, etc. are out of the way. Having to pull up, dig out a rock or trying to go around it just don't work too well with cable in the trench. It's also surprising how much power is needed to cut a trench that deep in one pass, so start shallow at five or six inches then keep working deeper with each pass till you reach your desired depth, it may take four or five, but don't put any wire in till you've got a full depth free pull. I recently bought a L3400DT w/ FEL and paid about what you were quoted for the JD. I checked out JD, MF, NH & Kubota tractors in the 30-35 hp range. The 3400 was the overall best deal. I have used this tractor to move 20 yard loads of #4 rock, bushhog 5 acres, and constantly use the FEL to move heavy items. I am very satisfied w/ this tractor.

The jd 401 is an industrial model that is very similar to the 2020 or 2030 in agriculural models. They were around 60 horsepower and available in either gas or diesel. They were very reliable machines although they are between 30 or 40 years old and some have many, many hours on them by now. If you have any specific questions, let me know.
