Just bought a used 2002 BX22 with 150hrs on it. Shut it off the other day, now it won't start. Noticed the speed shifter was still in slow. Tried to move it to neutral but it's stuck, it won't shift. How can I get it back into neutral? Tried rocking the machine back and forth but it didn't work. Has anyone else had this problem?

I would keep in mind that the loader dump is the strongest circuit on a loader. It seems possible that the entire loader is weak but the dump circuit is still strong enough to lift the front.

I'm not sure how the pressure test was done. If it was hooking a gauge into the high-pressure line with a t-fitting then there would be little pressure unless either the loader or 3ph were used under heavy loads. If the gauge starts at 1000 psi a weak loader valve may not register on the gauge. The usual way to test the system relief pressure is to dead end a gauge (for a short time) after the relief valve. The valve should open and squeal during the test. The system relief dose sound OK though. Many loader valves do have their own relief valves but somebody would have to know the valve to say for sure.

I used ww/fluid 10gl each tire. broke the top bead on a automotive tire machine poured it in and inflated the tires. Works well for the snow blower and doesn't seem to tear up the lawn. I use the ballast box filled with concrete for loader work.

All ya have to do is go to the top of the screen on the tractorpiont website, the grey bar across the top has 10 different things you can click on, click on email & tell Dennis ( the sebsite host) your problem) he will fix it. that happened to me originally too.

bobodude; A good dealer will have you stop by to demonstrate the proper use of your new tractor and it's attachments before delivery. A good dealer will have allready did their best to check for any leaks, malfunctions, etc. Malfunctions can occur later that were'nt apparend during the prep of your tractor, and there again by having a good dealer there should be no problem as long as it's a reasonable request. Avoid discount out of state dealers who don't do those things. Just my thoughts. Frank.

I'd clean all terminals including the chassis end of the ground cable. Give the battery a standard charge and then a 24-hous trickle charge. Then I'd measure the battery capacity of each cell with a hydrometer. If the battery test OK, I'd measure voltage at the battery while the tractor is running above a slow idle rpm. On most systems that voltage should be 14 - 15 volts. If it's low the charge rate is slow and the alternator or regulator is likely the problem. There are more formal tests described in repair manuals to determine specific problems.

You also may want to measure the battery back-drain. With the tractor off, place a amp meter between the ground terminal and cable. I think anything up to around 50ma is fairly normal. A tractor with a marginal charge rate and some back-drain that isn't used much and may be used for short runs using the lights may not charge the battery adequately. Using partially a charged battery shortens its life.

Make sure you have the correct owners manual for your tractor and follow the maintinece scheule to the letter. Never use anything except what the book calls for. Sometimes manufacturers will change their mind on a lubricant or filter type after the book has been printed so check with a dealer on that too. Most tractors use a common fluid for the trans, diff, PTO, and hydraulic system, some older tractors used a separate system for the hydraulics. Never use "Discount Store" oils or lubricants, you might save a few bucks now but you'll pay dearly later. Have a great day. Frank.

It seems to me that if your hydraulic lift cylinders can't hold the pressure and the fluid blows past the pistons this might happen. It's just a guess so don't run out and buy a new one before narrowing it down a little. I wonder if those cylinders are the right ones for the tractor.

I was led to believe that the NH engine in the CT did not have sleeves in them which seriously limited performance,i.e.torque curve etc.is this true? If so is the original question an example of these changes?

If this is a double post, ignore it. Not sure where my first answer went.

I'm not sure about the BX, but Kubota and Integrated Engineering both carry them for the B-Series. After finding out they wanted $825 for the rear remotes, and another $425 for the cylinders, I built my own for $450 including the rear remotes and cylinders. Works great, wouldn't want to have to be without it again.

The CK series from Kioti are some really nice machines. They are "soon" coming out with the CK25 and CK30. I am not that familiar with the Cub Cadets, but the Kiotis are impressive tractors at a reasonable price.

So I finally did it last week. My local dealer - Zimmer in SW OH - sold me an L3130 HST, 723 FEL with skid steer hitch and 72" L2240 HD bucket, and 400 lbs of weight for $19,200. It was not the lowest price anywhere but it was good enough. The dealer is pretty good and is only 7 miles away. So I'm quite satisfied. And the tractor is a joy. Thanks to all for the input.

Thanks for the input Murf. I will look into wheel wieghts, my only set back with them is that I have noticed they stick out, making the total width of the CUT wider. AS the CUT sits now it bearly fits on my trailer. I have like a 1/2" on each side of the rear tires. The surface I operate on ranges from deep woods to open fields to construction sites, everyday is different but nothing slows me down more then a rear flat. I do a fair share of lot clearing & have had logs pop a tire if ran over just right :(.

I have an MTE2000 and the voltage regulator is bad...I think. The battery wasn't charging. The charge light came on and the battery went dead. The alternator is putting out power. I removed the regulator..popped the top off and found one of the winding inside burned up. What is causing this. Is it just a bad regulator? Should I just replace it? Anyone have one I can buy.
