The BX uses tubeless tires and would need a tube installed to keep the rim from rusting. Your dealer would have mentioned it as nothing comes from the factory with anyting but air in it.

Kubota sells an excellent set of reasonably priced wheel weights for your BX. I found them quite useful.

One thing to consider is dealer overhead. As the owner of a small specialty outdoor store I know that my overhead (salaries and inventory costs, esp) is higher than an EMS or "big box store". This can make our prices, while still competitive, a bit higher (but not as much as some think). What we offer to counter that is much better service, by extremely knowlegable people who use the products they sell, and the ability to help customers get exactly what they need.

When I bought my tractor, I paid a little more and bought from a dealer who has a reputation for awesome service rather than his competitor who keeps prices down by minimizing overhead -- one notable area is that his service people don't have a good reputation.

Sure, I like saving money as much as the next guy -- but also understand that with excellent service comes higher overhead, hence a higher cost passed on to the customer.

The bottom line from a marketting standpoint is that a good deal is in the eyes of the customer. I paid more than I needed to, but went away happy with the deal I got. For others, the bottom line is all that matters. And the beauty of the capitalist system is that ultimately the market decides who thrives and who doesn't survive.

I do use a lot of compost and had several bins which I <br>
would "manually" mix from one bin to another. But now with<br>
my new BX23 FEL I can move and mix easly but the bucket<br>
wouldn't fit in the bins. No problem really just dismantled<br>
the bins Just hog panels covered with chicken wire!<br>
But now I have one BIG pile. I'd like to build a bigger bin<br>
or something like it. Anyone done this? Or built one that will last.<br>

They say that mosquitos are born and raised in the a 2 acre area. So if you kill the locals, except for those that come in on the wind, you should minimize the population to very few. Which could explain why after a season you would find few skeeters in the machine.

I experienced the same at Liberty on I55 South. I got up, went to the bank, had cash in my pocket determined to buy a tractor. I felt like I was being a pain in the butt by asking questions. I couldn't get the sales guy to talk. He answered my questions with the shortest answers possible. So I left and went to Scotts in Florence. An even worse experience. I ended up buying from an individual.

Now that all Kioti dealers are gone from Middle Tn, The dealer that sold me the 1914 said it was the old style Kubota and parts & works are the same on both machines.<br>
Was that a line or can I get a Kubota repair manual for the Kioti? I'm stuck and need some help

Bill, I don't know if it's the same problem but one of the kids that works for me had a problem with his, they wen't around and around trying to nail it down.

If they reset all the codes and replaced the fluid, filter everything was fine, or so they thought. Then the next time he pulled his fishing boat the fluid smelled a little burnt and the tranny would get REAL hot, even with a cooler. The dealer said the only thing left was a rebuild.

He took it to another shop who said the problem wasn't the tranny at all, it was his trailer wiring! It seems there is a sensor that looks for 12v. in the brake light circuit, assuming you are stopping it unlocks the torque converter to allow it to slip. If there is any corrosion, or a short (or even partial short) in the trailer harness that allows 12v. to back-feed the brake circuit, even small amounts of power will cause the sensor to unlock the converter.

They put a new trailer plug on the truck and installed a small rectifier to prevent back-feeds and the problem was solved.

My 7800 idle is set right around 1100 rpms. Has been since the day of delivery. I never questioned it, if you are interested, the performance curve for the engine is available at Kubotaengines website.

Last summer I purchased an aftermarket backhoe attachment for my JD 4500 with the hydraulics powered by a pump off the PTO. This year, however, I wish to use the power beyond kit which was installed on it when I purchased the tractor. The directions say to connect the return pressure line to oil sump connector, but I do not know where to find it. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome! As everyone said...there are no dumb questions! Most brush hogs that have "stump jumpers" (a large circular disc underneath that the blades attach to) are designed to let the blades swing at their attaching point. This is almost always both blades. I never seen one that only one blade could swing. That's not to say there isnt one out there!

Sometimes after setting a while or over the winter, the blade can gald up on it's pivot point. Sometimes a squirt of penetrating oil or the like will loosen it up and sometimes you have to remove the attachment bolt and clean it up a bit. A frozen blade on it's pivot point will usually cause some vibration as well unless it happens to be stuck at exactly the right spot.

You mentioned hitting a few things that "made a lot of noise" so you checked it when you were finished. I've found that waiting until you are finished after hitting things that make strange/loud noises can be disasterous. Sometimes it's better to stop and check for damage before proceeding. Of course, disengage the machine and use extreme safety!

I'll second that idea, although I could not find any information on the Kubota website for a B7800 mulching kit. I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am also interested in a mulching kit for the 54" deck on my BX1500. I know one is available, but does anyone know the specific part number for the kit and/or components?

jamesrm1; glad to hear about you having a great dealer, that is worth lots more than saving a few bucks on the purchase then having a service orphan. I'm sure that our tax dollars ar paying somebody doing a study of us trying to find out why these little tractors are so habit forming. I spent seven hours on the 4410 yesterday mowing road ditches and enjoyed every minute of it, relaxation I guess it's called. Keep on diggin. Frank.

I used to fly gold out of the Cambior mine on the Denali Highway 40 miles east of McKinley Park. They packed .50 cal. ammo cans with the stuff and it was HEAVY! I figure about 60lbs/can. The small jewelery quality stuff was separated from the coarse grade and fetched double the going rate.

No, no noise, it just gives out. It lifts with no load, but if you put say 80 or 100 lbs in it, it won't lift.

Your pretty much on your own for parts if you don't buy a tractor from one of the couple of bigger Chinese tractor dealers. Cross references are the problem i've been told? I've called three parts places and still not sure when i'm gonna get a lift shaft and the needed bushings and o-rings for a Jinma354. These tractors are tough but you can and will break parts and when you do you just have to wait until a bigger order is placed which could take weeks or months to get here. Does anybody reading this have a liftshaft in stock? The 304 seems to take the same one. Does Nothern sell parts to people that did'nt buy a tractor from them?

According to the Deere web site, the 2210, 4010, 4110, 4115, 790 and 990 are all manufactured/assembled in Japan.

As far as I know, Yanmar is not an independent company. They ARE Deere. But they do turn out a more trouble free product than the Georgia plant where the 4210 through 4710's are assembled.

All Deere compacts, except the new 4000 twenty series have Yanmar engines.

Tensioner for 3-point control. It's about 4-1/4 inches long, 1-3/8 inches wide and 1/16 inches thickness. Located inside housing just above differential.<br>

It's 10:30pm, I just put the tractor to bed. It's my second day with it. I'm having a blast. I started this thread with the question of the bx23s strength; I can now speak from experience, this is a strong work horse. It has more than enough power, a tight powerful diesel engine. I worked 11 hours on 1 5gal tank of fuel. Some cons: Removing the back hoe and then reataching it is pretty tough. I guess there's a learning curve and hopfully I'll get better at it. I'd like to hear from you guys who have mastered it. Can you get it off an on without a hitch? I still havent tried the MMM. That's next.
A refrigerated cup holder would be nice too. Other than that I'm lovin it.

Looking at a later production JD 655 with 4WD, 60 loader and GP bucket, belly-mount 50" mower, and front-mount 47" two-stage snowblower. Also has Landpride landscape rake. Unit has under 550 hours, and is in good cosmetic and mechanical shape. <br>

Engine starts and runs well, no excessive smoke or vibration, and hydro trans and trans ranges appear to work normally with no vibration, whine or other problems. Hydraulics function crisply, and no obvious weeping or leaks. <br>

Owner is asking $10,500 with manuals, attachments and spare parts. <br>

Asking price too high/on point? This unit is in New England, and JD's seem to bring good prices here. Thanks!
