There has been no reported problem with the Tc55 "jumping" into gear. Sounds like you may have a unique situation and since you are still under warranty have your dealer check it asap.

This is an update for anyone that cares.
I've now owned this tractor for almost 15 months and been without it for a total of 5 months. The clutch went!!! I found a Long Dealer in Easton Pa that was willing to take a chance on working on this thing. I was told by many other dealers that they've never worked on them cause they don't break.....What a crock of $#&*!!!!This long dealer had to disassemble the entire tractor fromt he flywheel back, mostly learning along the way, to repair the clutch and range gears. OH!!! By the way ABC Groff Tractor in New Holland Pa are a bunch of lying thieves. They never repplaced the clutch as they claimed they did, nor did they do alot of other things, be very leary of them. Per the Long rep. who came to see the problems with this tractor cause no one believed that it was actually broke!!! Anyhow about 3 1/2 months and almost $4000 later I got the tractor back. It seemed to work well for about another month or so, until the PTO clutch literally exploded. Fixed that and the forward-reverse gear that was cracked myself to the tune of about $500 saving myself another $2000 in labor costs. Don't get me started on the problems with Long's Parts Co. and the retarded service manual. Now that the tractor has most of the main transmission/differential parts replaced and is running well, I am considering selling it...at a loss. Anyone interested?

If you have the Yanmar 3TN84 engine (84mm bore), you should have been able to get pistons with rings for less $100 EACH.
Sure you don't mean 247 Euro for the 3? I paid about $75 each for the 1/2 mm oversize straight from the John Deere dealer (my tractors use the Yanmar 3TN84 engine).

Gasket sets are expensive, but I find you only need a few of the things in it, esp the head gasket ($30). Yanmar uses a lot of RTV silicone instead of gaskets.

Finally, if it is any consolation, a new engine is prob not available anymore from the manufacturer. I found some at a JD dealer a year ago, and they were $5400 each for the long block. Forget it. On that basis, you did not do too bad.

I got my answer from John Deere today and they said if he sells the tractor without paying off the Contract, the Tractor still belongs to john deere Finance. I wouldn't owe John Deere anything but the Tractor would still be their property! I'm sure glad I ask you guys! THANKS_____

I am also pleased with my BX. I added a tooth bar to help the FEL in the tougher stuff. You may want consider one for your driveway project.

Having lived in Africa most of my life I can tell you that there are 4 trucks that have survived test of time there. In Africa a test of time includes running the motor to at least 250 000mi (400 000 km) and never needing all sorts of fancy parts for repairs that you cant find at all dealers. Definately no heated leather seats. All have to be hard working and value for money, some would be considered small frame here (in the US) except they all are rated to 1 metric tonne (2200lb) capacity. They are: 1) Toyota hilux (like 4 runner) and 2) Toyota landcruiser - looks nothing like the land cruiser sold here 3)Isuzu KB series - dont know of local equivalent 4)Landrover. What is amazing is the American big 3 dont even feature? Thats my 0.02.

I know many of the parts are made in US and Canada, and the engines, Yanmar, Japan.

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that there assembled in Illinois.

Thanks for all the replies - I just received delivery of my new BX23 today. Ended up paying $16,400 with bar tires, hi-amp alternator, 12in hoe bucket, 50hour kit, ATI toothbar, and delivery. I looked around quite a bit and this was a little bit higher than the best quote I had but it was from the closest dealer - and I liked them the best. I have already dug up a couple of stumps in my backyard - this thing is awesome!

Any opinions on the better "Rake" implement...Frontier or Landpride.... Have a price quote of $825 for Frontier 6 foot light duty 1072 and $849 for the Landpride rake.... Would like to implement to be I-match compatible which I think both are. Looking for one for homeowner use solight duty is fine I suppose. Any opinions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!!<br>

New Holland and in the red version, Case have a machine which is a direct comparison to the 2210 and priced very similar. I did like the looks, you can find it on the New Holland site. There were some features I liked better on the New Holland over the Deere, but the one thing that really stood out IMO was the thickness of metal on the frame on the NH vs. the Deere, for the Deere has much thicker. Not sure the added thickness is really needed, but it seems the frame is more ridgid on the Deere.
