I agree, get the loader. While I have not used mine yet, we have a tractor with FEL at work (a school). Before we got the tractor I had never used a loader. We use it for everything -- moving mulch and soil, carrying garbage, hauling stuff around campus -- basically it's a motorized wheelbarrow. I cannot imagine buying a tractor without the loader -- for me, I know it will be the implement I use far more often than anything else.<br>

My future uses are similar to yours -- I am builfding a new house on the property and plan on using the tractor to maintain the driveway, put in lawn, basic landscaping, and cleaning up after my wife's horses.

Sounds a little heavy compared to what I've been seeing. Go back and talk with them and I suspect they can do better.

As for the end of June discount...most dealers can backdate the deal for a week or so, after the end of the promotion, if you are really serious.

Ken, I got mine thru a True Value hardware store on special a few years ago and they were 10 plus dollars below Northern Hydraulics or Great Plains at the time. I know mine is the two head system and I got it on sale at 89 while they were at 99 plus shipping at the time.

I'd first be checking into the payout on the unit. If it was financed, some contracts come with a auto pay out death benifit. The small stuff might be able to be sold to help with the payments for a month or so while a buyer is found for the TLB package. It might be hard to find someone that needs or wants or can afford all the pieces at once.

1845C's are hot machines. We've got them out with over 10,000 hours on them with no troubles. The whole series with the little cummins in them have been great units and extemely dependable. They actually changed the whole market from small often over taxed engines to engines with high torque and lots of power. They have been built for many years and that will change the value even though yours is low hours. They built them from 1985 till 2001 so there is quite a spread of years making your request difficult to answer. Does it have the newer Bobcat quick attach?

JParker; Seems like there's nothing like a good excuse to run to TSC or Fleet Farm. Somehow the Mrs. never seems to understand my cravings, but then again I'd rather take five minutes in the ring with the former Minnesota Governor than go to a mall. When lifting the front of the tractor while in range then you are also asking it to overcome the drive system and pull the rear of the tractor by sliding the rear tires. Some can do it and some can't! Your 50 year old tractors weren't hydro's with holding power. Your BX should be able to lift the front in neutral.

5picker; Thanks, I think you solved a mystery for me. This spring when I first used the MX5 cutter it had a shake to it. I shut it down to find the problem, but could'nt find anything wrong, I started it back up and no shake. After thinking about your remark about the blade pivots galding up I'm sure that was the problem. It's worked fine since, perhaps a squirt of oil this fall would be in order. Thanks, Frank.

The BX23 was delivered this week and here's the scenario... Tractor was started and shut off several times while the delivery guy was here with nothing unusual happening. Five minutes after he left I decided to try it out on the front lawn and cranked it up. 50 feet of travel and I heard a loud clunk - looked back and saw a metal piece on the ground. Hmmm - not instilling great confidence here. Called the dealer and figured it was the mid PTO drive shaft (remember, I'm new at this!). Decided to put the tractor in the garage before fooling around with it, so I pulled it in and turned it off. That's when it started dinging! Like when you leave the headlights on and turn off the car. For about a full minute it kept dinging while I checked all the light switches, etc trying to figure out what was up. Eventually it stopped and hasn't done it again since. Problem: I still don't know why it did it. There's no reference to any audible alarm in the owner's manual and the dealer said this didn't exist on the tractor! Anybody out there know what this was about???

Hi. Yes it runs or at least was running perfectly 5 years ago. Has been stored since. Starter is missing as well.

$part of the time the pinion gear will not engage with the flywheel when the ignition activates the starter...<br> you can watch the pinion gear hit the face of the flywheel but it will not mate...if you move the flywheel a fraction the engine will start...can anyone give me a suggestion on how to troubleshoot this problem...thanks$ starter problem on model G 1800

I just a few minutes ago registered. I am learning how to move around the site. So I can't promise a picture, but I'll try in the next couple of days. I measured the stock shaft and then cut the factory ends off and shortened the shaft and welded the new joints to each end. the joints i used are the female end and have an allen screw to secure them to the existing square male end.

Don't know exactly.... but if the loader frame needed some cross bracing on this model there are only a few places to locate it where it won't block the hood.

I am sure you would be more upset if you had to drag out your wrenches to check functions under the hood.

BTW, when I bought my last tractor, a year ago, I decided to by the first Kubota 7800, 2910, 2710 or Deere 4115 TLB package I could find. I found a 4115 first.

I purchased a King Kutter 5 foot rotary tiller
this year from Fleet Farm for less than one half
the price of a John Deere. I have very rocky soil
and it has worked exceptional! The only thing is
I think you may have to order parts directly from
Kutter, no big deal. Fleet Farm carries no extra
flail diggers. I found this to be unbelievable, but
that is life. I figured I could buy two Kutters for
the price of one John Deere, but I dont know how
a John Deere can be any tougher. My land is very,
very tough and rocky. I have not broken or damaged
anything yet in over 50 hours of tilling.

My local dealer has to send it to Hobart to getit fixed so, I might as well send it to Hobart/ Miller direct. That is the way it works. Most dealers DO NOT REPAIR.

Ran my new 33 all day bush hoging. Front hood screens clogged within 30 min. Within 3 hr.s radaitor was clogged in middle. Friends old 24 had rad.screen that fit 33 perfect.

Curt, The Yanmar V4-5 and the V3-5 are a great machine similar to the Kubota r-410 and the R-510. They have the same specs but are really worth checking out.
