beagle - Do you have contact info for "Itegrated engineering"? I tried that spelling as well as "Integrated Engineering" and got buried, but couldn't find what appeared to the the right people. A co-worker has a bx2200 and has problems with many 3ph impliments. Maybe this would help him.

I wanted a 4-in-1 bucket to handle brush work. The local Kubota dealer ordered a Kubota Loader with a W R Long bucket.

I asked about a quick attach on the bucket, but he didn't like the idea. Said it added weight and extended the bucket forward. Anyway the entire loader is a semi quick attach.

Seems to work OK, any opinions on the combo?

That assumes you have a Cat 1 hitch. I don't know if they make a Cat 0 model.

I can only speak about the tiller for sure. The BX series tiller is chain drive, while the standard tiller is gear drive.

I think their idea is to make the BX series a little lighter and a little cheaper since they are being used with smaller tractors. But the price on both 48" tillers was the same last month when I bought mine.

On grader boxes & blades, weight is good as long as you don't exceed the mfg ratings.

I agree about the FEL bar, but have learned to work around it. Any fuel pumping rig would solve it, but I've gone really low tech for now. <br>

I buy fuel with 5 gallon cans, but transfer half to a 2.5 gallon for fueling. If I need all 5 gallons, now the tank is at half weight so no problem.<br>

As far as the overall machine, Personally I like the heel & toe HST pedal design better than the Deere side by side. The machine itself is very tough and as for the dollars last fall when I was pricing the choices were JD 4115 and B7800. <br>

The JD was $ 1400 more and 6 Hp weaker. It wouldn't have handled the 5' rotary cutter I wanted according to the JD dealer.<br>

In hindsight, the 2910 might have been a good idea for the rear hydraulics and position control, but I don't plan on that much grading to really NEED the position control. But it would be nice.

Right, it's a filler plug. The parts manual shows a V-belt drive but I have a chain in mine. There must be some variations to this model. On my next trip to the dealer I'll bring the serial number and see if that helps.

I ended up with the 4' King Kutter Gear Drive tiller. They also make a lighter Chain drive model for the BX tractors.<br>

The 4' gear drive unit is great so far, and it stays inside the mfg. recommended weight and size specifications.

Thanks for all the input. I pretty well stayed in the recommendations. King Kutter's 48" Gear Drive tiller from TSC. Price just under $1000 + tax, + oil + + + +

It has a built in 12" offset to the right to cover tracks of a 5 tractor nicely.

It turned my clay & rock soil into a nice soft almost powder consistiency very easily. It even turned a big rock into a bunch of smaller ones before I could stop it. When I looked for damage, I barely could find a nick in a tooth. What a machine.

I've allready put 19 hrs on my tractor. The dealer finaly delivered my lx5,and 665 Tiller. Haven't yet recieved a hat. I'm just glad it finally stoped raining. allthough now it is getting dusty. hooked my tiller up last nite tried it out today man that thing chews through everything even hard clay just a little slower.

Seriously, since lcguy already has had some trouble with his pto clutch who knows how long it will last? I sort of have this rule I live by - if it seems flakey it probably is.

Looking at L245, do not know positively the year (owner says '86), 4x4 with loader and power steering. Motor sounds good, runs and drives good, loader does what it should, and priced at $6500 in Texas. Seems like a fair price, but then Kubota dealer said it was only worth about $5,000. Is dealer just trying to sell me new tractor?<br>
