Neal, we've all been faced with the "which one's best" question but in the end it's a question only you can answer.

If budget is the primary consideration, then you have to find the best bang for your bucks and that might be the TC30. If operation/looks and bells & whistles are a consideration then look at the TC29. Keep in mind the TC33 is on the same platform as the 29 so for a few extra bucks you can go there as well.

If you are still not sure, test drive each one and compare. I was going crazy with all the different specs and brochures whizzing around in my head but it was the test drive that put it all into prospective. You wouldn't buy a new car without doing it. Any dealer worth his salt will allow you to spend some time with each machine whether it be at his lot or at your home. It was during this process that I found out how much nicer the the options on the 29/33 were compared to the "price fighter" 30. The adjustable 3PH arms are worth the price difference alone. Throw in the tilt/tele steering, nicer seat/platform area, cruise as a standard option instead of a dealer add on, and along with several other 'goodies,' the 29/33 looked awfully good IMHO.

the GST is a wet clutch system much like the larger farm tractors. It does allow for forward and reverse operation with out the clutch as well as gear changes. Although some one made mention of better inching qualities of this transmission over a hydro I've never seen a clutch petal operate better then the exact speed required like a hydro. I would assume it was only through poor instructions of proper operation that that would be the case as a hydro is the most accurate other then maybe a torque converter style which is not used in this industry.

You are trading the convenience of the hydro for the advantage of a full catagory 1 hitch. The 2210 and other sub-compacts are really nice machines, but you have to be ready for the limitations of the 3ph. They are "limited" catagory 1, which means some cat 1 implememnts won't fit them very well, or not at all. Many manufacturers have done a good job making implements available for these hitches, but they are still limited.

Take another look at the differences between the two loaders. I had a sub-compact, and also found the loader to be a little disappointing. I think you hear, my vote would be for the 790, but you need to size up your own situation.

Below is a link that may be of some help, although I only know them as a place that has a decent site.

There's a good chance that Shibaura didn't manufacture the pump and it is still in use on other equipment. One of the numbers on the pump may identify an OEM number and a specialty shop could track down a new motor from an OEM supplier rather than through a tractor parts system.

Thanks fellows for the followup. I am going to see if I can rent or borrow a small box blade to see if my tractor can handle it. The TZ24 is rated to handle 700 lbs on the Cat 1 3PH and has a two speed rear axle with differential lock. I can also add weight to the front bumper. I didn't mention, but the MMM weighs 260 lbs and I weigh 190. By adding front weights I could get the total weight over 2000 lbs. Still may not be enought.

Hardwood, you didn't rain on my parade. I got the information I wanted. I didn't want to buy a piece of equipment that my tractor couldn't handle. From viewing your pictures, you should be a poster boy for the "Green Machine". Seeing the sickle bar mower brings back memories. I grew up on a farm. We raised corn, tobacco, and beef cattle on about 200 acres. I spent many an hour in the seat of an A-C WD45 using a sickle bar mower. This was back in the days when we used square balers.

Definitely dealer time to document the problem. The oil may get hot and frothy as well. For after warranty the problem sounds like a suction line obstruction or break. A clogged filter or screen can do it and one might be clogged from poor clean up of parts during assembly. People have reported screens that contained a lot of junk at initial 50-hour servicing.

Why I said document the problem because the condition that may be present can damage the hydraulic pump if the tractor is operated for prolonged periods. I wouldn't start it to find out if the oil gets hot.

You are exactly right about the roadrunner. Davis made it, Case bought them out but I never did see one on steel tracks. They looked like a farm tractor with a trencher on the back. They also had a backfill blade on the front.

MY old 790 lifted a brush hog no problem however, it didnt like lifting my TR3 rake which is roughly 800 lbs. The 790 is a smaller scale cut with an oversized engine. The 790 is defintly not comparible to the L3400 Kubota. The L3400 would out lift & out perform the 790 in a second. Thats like camparing a ford ranger to a F - 350.

I'm pretty sure a 4310 will pull a plow since it has more power than some old farm tractors, but I don't plow. For horses you may have to deal with bales so bigger than a 4310 may be better. You might want to read this thread for more info on handling round bales.

I'd say you simply need to (re)prime the fuel system. There's a hand pump attached to the fuel/injection pump assembly, you can identify it as a round flat knob about the size of a quarter - with a spring compressed below it. Unscrew it to the left, and it will pop up.<br>

Remove and fill the fuel filter with clean diesel. Screw the filter back on, but don't tighten all the way down. Use the hand pump. First you'll see bubbles come out, as fresh fuel displaces the air. As soon as raw fuel pumps out, tighten down the filter.<br>
<br>
Move to the metal injector lines on top of the pump. Loosen each about a half turn, and repeat the process you just performed on the filter. After tightening them, proceed to the top end of the metal injection lines. Repeat the process. Open the compression release, turn over the engine with the key, close the compression release.<br>
<br>
As not all cylinders may "catch" at the same time, you may need to "feather" the throttle till they all start firing. This will be obvious to you by the increase in engine rpm.<br>
<br>
Once the engine is started, go back and check for leaks. And don't forget to screw the hand primer back down.<br>

Buying used was my first intention, but after exhausting my search (I live in central Mississippi) I have found that for a couple of thousand more I can buy brand new, take advantage of 0% interest which basically offsets the difference in new vs used, and I'll have a warranty.

The 5320 is not a compact(65 horse turbo )And I believe the 4020's are still called compact's on a larger frame with more ponies, They are also turbo charged.the 5000 tractors are the start of a bigger breed machine.

I purchased a BH7500 backhoe with a 16" bucket. I want to buy a 8" trenching bucket as a second bucket. Are there any alternative sources for the 8" bucket besides Woods (Gannon)? I was quoted $380 for an 8" bucket from the Woods dealer.<br>

A potential Woods comatible source I can think of might be the Prarie Dog folks. That backhoe is a Woods knockoff but I haven't found out if the buckets are truly Woods compatible. The price I've seen for their 8" bucket was $275. I just gotta find out if the bucket is Woods compatible.

Sounds like the fan and bearing set up was designed for vertical mounting, where the bearings ride on the race. Have a look at the bearing when you get it out and see if the bearings, ball, barrell or needle are riding on a race that is horizontal or is it a race that is vertical and the bearings are riding on their ends on a surface that wasn't meant for a bearing surface. If so, look around at a bearing supply place like Tech Bearing and you can find one with the right id and od to replace it that works for a horizontal aplication.
