I am shopping for a subcut to replace my JD755, my garden tractor, and my ztr mower. I'm not a newbie, and I know a subcut will do what I need to do. Maybe you folks can help cut down my research a bit though. :)<br>

I can buy JD, Kubota, IH, NH, & Cub Cadet. I'd like to know:<br>

-Any have a MMM that's QUICK to remove?<br>

-Any have position control on 3PH?<br>

-Any have foldable ROPS?<br>

-Any that FEL is not easy to remove & install?<br>

-Any that cannot handle:<br>
-my 48" rear brush mower?<br>
-my 48" box blade?<br>
-allow me rotate my 60" rear blade while on the hitch?<br>

I'm not worried about lift capacities, flow rates, etc. I used to worry about things like that, till I realized it only leads to premature aging and insanity.<br>

Sounds like the mosquito magnet really sucks. Or really doesn't suck, which sucks... oh never mind.

I live just above a river basin with swamps and flooded pastures. Mosquito's are a real problem... even here in the desert.

About once a month the county or state hires a helicopter to drop those larvae killing crystals on the standing water in the pastures and we are seeing some relief this year.

Now.. anybody know how to neutralize horse flies?

Ummmm..... I don't see an FEL in the pics..... or a weight bracket.

If you hang a 400 pound box on the rear of this tractor it will lighten the front end enough to neutralize your steering or it will simply pull the front end off the ground.

You can do the work you described but you will need a FEL AND a heavy (350-400#) 48 inch box scraper.

I am looking at getting the L3130 with a loader/ backhoe/bush hog and am not sure if I should go for the HST or FST. I've got 90 acres and will be using it primarily to recontour some of the property, move small trees, and clear the brush from 30 overgrown acres. Recommendations?

Allen, if you go to the search page and search for winch in the subject line there are a few discussions of winches and tractors. Here's a link to the longest thread that discusses them. I got stuck once and started looking for a winch but put it on the back burner. My decision was an economic one - the cost of a good winch large enough to get me out of trouble was as much as calling the tow truck a dozen times to pull me out. I don't plan on getting stuck that often. However, if the right deals comes along I may snap it up.

The JD 790 will be prove to be a much better investment over the years. Plus, there are JD dealers everywhere standing behind it. I have a new 790 and smile every time I use it. My neighbors are all jealous...

One reason I went with dealer maintenance is that I read on this site about a fellow who did his own maintenance and had subsequent transmission problems. Because he did his own maintenance his dealer was saying his warranty was voided because no proof maintenance was done properly.

From a safety standpoint don't do it. The bulk of the weight of a big round is way too far behind the 3pt. plus you're raising the center of gravity of the whole unit, (tractor+ bale) to a height that makes a narrow tread tractor pretty tippy. Just my thoughts. Frank.

I don't know the tractor. You might say if it has a coil/breaker or a magneto ignition if 'charge' means voltage measured with a VOM and also how many hours it has. If it's a coil/breaker ignition and it has a fair number of hours, a heat sensitive coil isn't a bad guess. Sometimes heat-shields go missing too.

I really don't know much about brands other than Deere or the older International Harvester hydro units, but I really doubt that there are any clutch packs or dry plate clutches involved. The older IHC combines had a clutch pedal on the hydro drive I think more as a panic pedal for people that had allways driven gear drive machines. The clutch on them was a valve that broke the fluid circit between the hydro pump and the hydro motor. Long as you have to have the hydro unit in neutral to shift between ranges than I'd say there is no clutch pack involved. Frank.

This is just my 2nd post, have been lurking here for a while. I left the farm 39 years ago - Farmall M (still have it), Case LA, and Oliver 55. Now that I'm retired I have this crazy idea that I want a tractor to play with! Have only an acre but help plenty of "friends" with more space. I borrow a Ford w/loader about 4-5X/yr. for various projects.<br>

The other online place lists a Kioti LK3054 (90 hrs), Rhino 2408 FEL, Kioti 6' finish mower,6'deluxe grader blade, 3pt carry all, 125 gallon water tank and an 8 roller silver series pump from TSC (rated at 22gpm), home made weed sprayer. Pix look great. Owner says he's downsizing and is asking $15,500. How does this sound to y'all?<br>

I've always been attracted to green but too much $$ - I just wear the hat! The Century 2028 and Mahindra 2810 seem like good potentials, but I've not priced them seriously. Should I even think about the new Kioti LK3054XS? I don't seem to find the specs for LK3054 above online at Kioti-just the XS.<br>

I'm a new member and looking to buy my first tractor. Can anyone tell me anything about Mahindra's? Looking at the 28 and 35 hp in both 2wd and 4wd. Are they reliable? Do they hold a resale value? Thanks in advance.

I agree with all the above advice. One thing that will increase the chance of survival is to use a compass and note where "North" is and use something to mark the tree. When you install the tree into it's new spot use your compass to again note "North" and align the mark on the transplanted tree. For whatever reason this seems to increase the chance of survival.

Assuming 4WD, machinerylink dot com says in good condition it should go for around $22k. Add some for loader and backhoe and it seems like a good price. What kind of backhoe is on it?
