This unit is from a dealer is hydro with loader and new backhoe. it has 155 hours. They are asking 25,500. Is this a good deal? <br>

That an idea, but I think I'll go over to my NH dealer and measure the arms and links on the TC35-45 chassis and compare it to my TC33D. There is a fair bit of size difference in the tractors, and I want to be sure the 3pth are comparable in size.

Pretty sound logic Mark.

Here we have a few 'twists' in the process.

We have the ability to 'unbrand' a vehicle, such as after it has been written off, when it is re-licenced the title shows the brand as "unbranded" but it retains the VIN. Un-branded vehicles cannot be licensed for street use.

To make it further ponderous, we have a law called the "Off Road Motor Vehicles Act" which covers almost any motorized vehicle except those which are 'street legal'. It requires any motorized vehicle (except things like farm vehicles bearing a SMV) to be licensed and insured (liability only) if it is not operated on land the owners own land (rented or leased property is considered owned land).

This was as a result of so many people getting hurt and then sueing for their suffering, etc., even though the owner of the land on which they were riding didn't know they were there or allow it even.

Luckily it pretty cheap to insure a buggy though.

Yup. I had a JD 4100 and a BX22 parked side-by-side for several months.

The 4100 bucket would be flat on the ground every morning but the 3 point hitch right where I left it... even if it had 800 pounds on it.

The BX bucket never appeared to move but the three point hitch would droop overnight and fully lower after two days or so..

Just got an 1872 Hydro and starts great when its cold and never shuts off when its hot but when I shut it off I can start it right back up right away but if it sits like 10 mins, I dont get a spark, the engine turns but never fires. Checked ignition and noticed that the yellow wire when cold gets a charge but when having the starting problem gets NO charge. Yellow wire connects to white that goes down into the engine with the spark plug wires, Coil wire?? Is the coil sending charge back through the wire to the ignition?? Is my coil over heating when I let it set too long and it needs to cool off? I am assuming that the fan on my drive shaft pulls/pushes air through the engine. I have spent HOURS trying to figure out WHY. Please help.

Hardwood, my tractor is the new NH sub-compact just released this year. It's HST, 4x4, 24HP with Cat 1 3PH. Tractor weighs about 1300 lbs and equipped with turf tires.

I could rent a fullsize backhole to do the work, but maybe I could purchase a box blade for what a weekend rental would cost. Anyway, who would want to rent if you can possibly use your own equipment.

I have a bank I need to remove appoximately 12 - 18" of sod and dirt, no rock, and layout a 200 ft driveway. I only need to cut about 12", here again sod and dirt.

I would expect I could purchase a used box blade with rippers. Does anyone have an idea of cost. Thanks

I just received my brand new TC 33DA this week and it does NOT have the battery vent or the radiator screen. The manual says the 33 does not NEED the screen because the radiator is "Flow Through". I have used the 33 for about 2.5 hours and really like the SuperSteer. The whole thing is a huge step up from my Ford 3000.

I live in New Hampshire and have a block heater on my B2710. I always turn it on a couple of hours before going snow blowing. It cost $39.99 at Chappell's in Milford. Took me 15 minutes to install. You do have to have a 17mm allen wrench to remove the block plug.

TYVM for your suggestions. You were right on about the bypass valve.

Hubby and his dad fixed the tractor about 2 wks ago, his dad mentioned that it might be that bypass valve, and it was, I've been meaning to post their success. They took it out, cleaned it and tadah, it worked again. I'm soooo relieved! In fact, it works 100% better now at lifting.

My husband even says he likes the tractor now, lol.

I'll print out the other things you mentioned also and keep it with the tractor papers.

i do have the rear work lights but they were installed by the dealer. as far as your septic area in md. the drain field is all under ground so the surface is always hard so no problems for me but i do have turf tires with wheel weight for the front hill. i have a pretty steep hill out front but with thw the wige turf tires and rear wheelweights i can from side to side i did however install a grab bar on the right side to match the left side which is standard it allows you to transfer your bosy weight easier.

Neal, the 'norm' around here seems to be a lot more than double, I'd guess-ta-mate it is about 4' out and 2' high, which I suspect is more a function of the size of a sheet of plywood than anything else.

From an engineering point of view there is only two real factors to be concerned with, how much weight and how much farther out it is since leverage will increase the effective weight.

The other common practice is to just make a big 3-sided plywood box on top of a pallet. Then using forks on the FEL carry it around as needed. A loop of chain around thefork frame and through some holes in the back make it easily 'dump-able'.

We move a lot of trees in the course of our work. Almost always it is with a tree-spade, however in our case even a small percentage that get done without a spade is still quite a few trees.

We first trench around the root ball in a size suitable for the size of the tree. Then using the B/H fully extended we insert the backside of the bucket under the root ball like a big chisel. Then we wrap the entire root ball in a heavy tarp. On top of the tarp we form a 'basket' out of heavy chain by making a series of interconnected loops around the root ball, each just small enough to not move up or allow the root ball to fall through. Then we carefully lift the whole thing up by the chains.

Care must be taken to protect the trunk from being stripped of bark, this will severely weaken the tree and most often kill it. A bunch of old towels wrapped around the base of the trunk and held in place with 100 mile-an-hour tape works great.

If you have pallet forks on a FEL this seems to work very well for lifting and carrying since you can lift from two sides and the tree is suspended in between them damage-free. It also makes for easy transport.

Be sure to loosen up the soil in the hole you have dug for it's new home and add any amendments and mix them in well before dropping the tree in. Pack the soil around it well, water it in good to prevent shock, and stake or anchor it if it's in an area where it may be subject to much wind since it will easily be up-rooted until it can re-establish a good anchor root system again.

I added auxiliary lights to my 7800. Turns out it is already wired for rear work lights. The power plug is located on the harness behind the seat. I used two tractor lights from TSC, I believe they are 30 watt, but I honestly don't remember for sure. I have run both the headlights and the work lights at the same time, and the alternator sems to keep up with things just fine.

If you have folding ROPS, you can add the light brackets without clamps or drilling. The are holes in the ROPS at the pivot that are pretty useful for mounting the lights. I ran my wire through the ROP at the pivot.

Checked all the clearances through full range last night. The cylinder has a 5" stroke, and I fabricated the lift arm clevis so I would be level accross the arms at the center of the stroke. My remote valves have load checks, so any minor drift I get shouldn't effect the PHD. I am a little concerned about all the banging around the the 3-point gets from the PHD, but this is a pretty stout cylinder. I've used it to operated the lift throw arm on a dozer blade. I think she can take it.

Besides, I did't spend a dime on the entire set-up, so Ms. Beagle is pretty happy with me. She has to take the business end of the PHD this weekend, so I needed a way to plumb it easily.

OneAce, I've used the easy photo program on the site and resized them to like 600 x 400 and then when you save them be sure to change the Quality Level [size slider] until you've hit the 30kb mark..
