Paluvsjoshua, I just installed and covered 100 feet of 6" black plastic poly pipe for drainage around my yard - used the 4310 - 5,000 lbs with hoe and fel to cover it. It was down about 18 inches and I had no damage (although I was concerned). I think the leach pipe and take an amazing amount of pressure if down a foot or 18" and you are dealing with harder pvc pipe. But I am not an expert and obviously judgement and risk are involved.

I've done my 50 hour service myself on my last three machines. It's a great way to get to know your machine and perhaps the one time you get to ensure all of your systems are up to snuff with clean fluids, filters, grease, and torqued lugnuts--all at the same time. Check the manual even if stuff seems obvious to you--it won't bite you.

I took a few hours each time I did it and started by pulling the MMM, powerwashing and putting on sharp blades. I then powerwashed the tractor, used the compressor to blow out the engine compartment thoroughly, and pulled it in the shop.

You can then drop all the filters and fluids according to the the manual. It's a good idea to have all of the fluids warmed a bit. With all the side panels off you can check the belt tensiion, electrical quick-connect plugs, air and fuel filter, etc. As for the suction screen, you should go ahead and pick up an o-ring at the dealer in case it gets damaged in the process. Make sure you follow the manual when you clean the screen and magnets--be gentle and use a mild solvent.

Once the deck goes back on, you can adjust and level it again--a good idea every 25-50 hours, or so. Check the lug nuts, grease all the zerks, and rub a little wax on the hood and fenders. Finally, pop open a cold one and gawk at your pretty machine for awhile before you take it back out to work it over again.

When I used my JD 4310 to haul bluestone to the edge of my poolyard - and I left the bucket filled with rock hovering over the edge as I laid the stone in place - I could hear and occasional click and within 15-20 minutes or so I would have to start the tractor to raise it about 6 inches. If the backhoe isn't pinned up it will be dragging on the ground by the end of the day - therefore when not in use I always have it pinned up. Both bucket and hoe perform flawlessly when put to use so I accept this as a minor inconvenience. Like DRankin said in a previous thread - the 3 pt hitch never seems to drift on me. But according to DR - his 3pt hitch did drift on his Kubota. Correct DR?

I briefly considered the B7800 but have ordered a larger tractor so I don't remember the features of the B7800. I suggest that you check if the FEL can be purchased with a skid steer type of quick attach. You could then buy a dry material bucket that would have a larger volume. More money I know but more versatile in the future.

I have had a CK30 HST ordered for months. Still no word from my dealer on when it will be available. I was told by everyone (including Kioti) that they would absolutely be available for sale by June. Anyone know if something is up with these?

robhoa, just ready about you success this past spring with distributing your loam. I will be getting my new JD in a couple weeks and intend to spread 75 yards. I do not own a box scraper or a rake, I read that you have had success with the box scraper and I was planning on using a rake with a flip blade. Do you have any thoughts or advice for me.
P.S. Will also use the FEL with 53" bucket to distribute and initially spread the loam then go over it with the rake to get the final thickness desired.

Im new to the board here, but so your comments regarding your DK65 and just wanted to know if you have had any other problems, and how would you compare this tractor to others of its class. (My DK65 will be delivered Saturday so I hope I made the right choice)

Has anyone added extra work lights (head lights) to a B7800? I'd likely mount them to the canopy/ROP. Does the electrical system have enough juice to support more lights?<br>

Although we are getting 16 hours of daylight this week, in the winter it gets dark very early out here, so I expect to be working under the lights. <br>

I live in Northern CT., which is cold but not nearly as much as it is up where you are, and I wouldn't be without one. I have a bx22, and just like stated above the lubrication and warm up times are enhanced really well. You only have to plug it in about an hour before you go to use to make the difference. Have the dealer do it, otherwise it is to easy to put off and is an inexpensive addition to helping your tractor last longer and perform more readily in adverse conditions. I paid 50.00 for mine to be installed which covered the cost of the part and the dealer threw in the labor as part of the deal.

A box blade with scarifiers (or rippers) will dig about any thing short of solid rock. Use the scarifiers to loosen the soil, then raise them to move it around and level it.
They make box blades in all sizes so there should be one to fit your tractor.

Every farmer in our area has his own backhoe. The guys without much money have older used industrial models like Case or Deere. Those with money used to purchase full size Deere units but have recently gone to Cat. Cat has some really, really big stuff with awesome financing plans. Very few farmers have CUT's except for those that bought/leased them with other bigger purchases for the spouses for gardening and odd jobs. Landscaping & building contractors on the other hand use the bigger CUT's with BH's for jobs. If they have serious jobs they use JD 5000 series tractors. I don't think much of a market exists since most doing serious BH work leave it on permanently for dedicated use.

Grassgod, I suspect the shipping documents contained an error.

Really heavy 3" x 3" angle iron is still only going to be about 5 pounds per foot. Even if your TR3 weighs 750 pounds, that would be 750/5=150 linear feet. Since your TR3 is 5" wide that means you would need to have 30 cross members to use up that much steel.

It's also interesting that TR3 doesn't publish any spec.'s or data on their site or brochure.

Thanks for all the comments. I had an additional question. If you are using an HTL with a piloted check valve, wouldn't that defeat the float function on the controlling valve?

I guess that I don't see that I will ever have a future need to use an implement that would utilize the float function on the controlling remote valve. I think that the term auxillary valve would be more appropriate but I haven't seen it used.
