I have heard that you can disable the govenor on the gator and get close to 30 miles per hour, does anyone know how to do that. Please let me know any information ou may have at jkmoye at hotmail dot come<br>

Yes, Saplings and small trees are what I was referring to.
Also you may want to consider cutter width, in my state (Maine) you have to have a permit to travel on the road with anything over 8' 6" .

I think most farmers would be more interested in spending the money for a new or used mini-excavator. They are much more usefull, versatile, maneuverable, more reach and most have a dozer blade.

There are tractor safety oriented sites and organizations that produce a lot of reading material. I read a lot when I first got a tractor but the reading does have to be merged with experience before it becomes meaningful in practice. As mentioned the two together produces a well calibrated backside stability gauge and neither are great on their own.

As an illustration, a few weeks ago I got a call from a neighbour who is a supervisor in a provincial park. A water main was leaking and he wanted me to trench back along both sides of the leak to do the repair. The side slope on one side of the leak was very significant but with bush only on the uphill side. I carefully climbed the hill and maneuvered into position.

I was about to start digging when my former reading kicked in. The hoe manual says 'never dump to the downhill side. 'Sorry' I said to the supervisor but I have to complicate backfilling by dumping into the bush. He's been around equipment for most of his life and I didn't have to explain why.

I'd read everything I can find and then start testing the envelope. Avoid anything that doesn't feel comfortable but be aware that the envelope does get bigger as you gain experience.

Itsgottabegreeen; The local Deere dealer had two 110's that he drew my attention to about six months ago, we've got two #80 dump carts that they would have looked great pulling around. As the Mrs. tells me I allready have enough "Collectables", so I passed on them. I don't remember what he was asking for them, but I did see someone loading both of them on a trailer later. Has anyone saw the new #21 dump cart built to match the HPX Gators? There supposed to be a heavy duty, lots heavier built than the old #80's. The 80's were a real good cart, we don't have a dent or ding in them yet. Frank.

If the tractor has power steering, it will have a spin on filter under the right hand footrest. All models have the washable sump screen which is removed from under the left hand step.

my thought on forums. well at least the small one i have up is that we post to see what others have to say. their views, their opinions and experiances

as long as folks dont resort to verbal rhetoric that is real vulgar or threatening.or delves into unlawful activities i think it should be left intact. we all have differing views,thats what we come to see. the other persons take on things.

true, once posted it is property of the board. depends how the forum is stated in its disclaimer or policy.usually have to click to agree to gain entry.

in fairness to the board and its webmaster. picking or even finding willing qualified moderators is no easy task. neither are the daily woes of maintaing any sort of web presance. the main person on said board may not even know of this especially if he or she is running their own network servers?

on the other hand some of the firearms blog/forums i frequent have evolved into dictatorships managed and totally controlled by advertisers money who either have their own areas or moderator goon squad chopping unwanted posts that dont meet their agenda. sites need to make money to stay online. bandwidth costs big money but it has to be ethical

just my humble opinion.

We have a dealer here in CT taht sells "Iron Horse" . They look identical to the Nortrac. I believe it's a father and son shop and they are pretty straight shooters. He more or less verified everything that has been said on these posts that they aren't finished as good, could use some better grease fittings and they are old school but they have proven reliable. The guy was pretty honest with me and told me he only had one with a bad engine and the guy who blew it up pushed it real hard in superlow and he really overdid it. He had on in the shop today needing a u-joint and it had 700 hours on it and it was the first time it was in for something that broke. They offer a full 1 year warranty parts and labor. I never though i'd do it but for the money and a 1 year warranty it's hard to pass up a 4x4 with power steering and a loader for around 8500. I have about 5-6 weeks of solid work to do around my house. with the rental companies getting 200-250 per day for a tractor and york rake around here I'll be way ahead of the game if it runs for this time and I can sell it and even get 50% back. Just my opinion on these.

I lost two weeks on out of state business, so I've actually only been able to put about 18 hours on it. That said, it's a REAL tractor - compared to the Jinma it replaced. Direct injection, 8x8 shuttle shift, two hydraulic pumps, twin remotes, draft control, sprung seat, and even a 12v DC outlet.

Fit and finish was typically Chinese, but being a former Jinma owner I was prepared for that. There were more cases of TFOT (things falling off tractor) than the Jinma though. Only one problem actually caused a work stoppage though; a fuel line blew at 13 hours. I think my Jinma fuel line lasted about 60 hours. Everything else was minor, a few of them plain old pilot error.

Much better looking than the Jinma, hydraulic opening hood and sunken battery tray are a welcome change. No problems mowing uphill either, L3 or L4 for just about everything. Jinma had an aggravating need for L3 to mow uphill, H1 for everyplace else.

Going to have to do something about those wire wrapped fuses though. I think I saw some extra large blade type fuses at AutoZone, but I'm not sure they're big enough. I'm probably going to be breaking ice when it comes to all the other crossover parts too. But Chip's been very helpful so far, I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship (and maybe some crossover numbers).

mine is a 6hp 40gal. tank black max from sams. it has had hard
use running d/a sanders,drills,needle scalers and paint guns for years now. i do have a drier and an oiler depending what im doing. so far it has lasted but i drain it daily and change oil every year or less. there is no way i could be without a compressor. no way!

humidity is a big issue down here. what you thought was your compressor can be a big squirt gun. its hard on them too.

if i was to do it again it would be a twin mounted in outside cabinent with an 80-100 gallon on rubber isolators

you really need to think about units prime use and size to what you going to use it for most.check your tools requirements. not having enough cfm to run your tool is not good. just like sizing tractor to your place i think

By the way, the rockshaft only rotates 90 degrees so if you adjust it so top of travel is lower it will drop lower too. I don't remember which way to adjust it to go higher and lower so just play with both directions until you get the desired results. You can do this adjustment with the engine running, but if it starts bogging don't let it run that way for long.

I just changed mine for the first time this morning. My first step was to disconnect and remove the FEL. I have used a cloth wrap-around type filter wrench with 1/2 drive socket for filter changes on all vehicles for years. It worked great on the 2210 as well.
