Your fuel injection pump sprang a leak. Remove the plate in front if the pump and (depending on the pump
some simply would slide out, others you had to remove a nutand faniggle with it.) take lines and bolts off pump and have a new seal put in. Before you do all that. Smell your oil. Smell like diesel? Oil level really high? thin looking too?

P.S. Use only 30 wt non-detergent motor oil in hydraulics. This will give you many happier years of service. You can still buy this oil at Dollar General or other like stores for .75 a qt.

Just a couple items I am finding...

The MX7 is a cat 2 hitch unit. Your 3point has the capacity to lift the unit as it can lift 2500 lbs. and the MX7 weight is only 1332 lbs.

It looks like HP is your issue. The MX7 Minimum Rec. PTO HP is 50. The Min. Rec. PTO HP for both the MX8 & MX10 is 40. (I am looking at pull type models for the MX8 & MX10)

Total weight for the MX10 is 2113 lbs. so you might have some issues on slopes as this is near the max capacity.

Don't know if any of this helps or just causes more confusion.

i am having trouble getting the oil filter off my 2210. is there a special tool or what size socket to get filter off tractor? this is my first try at changing the oil. can not get regular oil filter wrench to fit on and have room to turn it. have fel that is blocking access.<br>

I use Excel for such things but I think you can easily create tables for your needs in Word. In Excel you make a simple template with all the columns and headings you could ever want in about 10 minutes.

You might look around for a used van with a lift already installed. My friend with an electric chair has had a string of these and a has a old one rusting in his back yard at the moment. (I don't think that one is worth having unless you are a mechanic in search of a project, but there may be some that are.)

BTW, he's had several lifts in standard vans that used cables to raise and lower a platform (like "Ironsides"), but he likes the one he has now better - it slides out of the lowered floor in a minivan, and the van itself tilts if needed.

I have a 1998 4200 HST and all of a sudden if I raise the three point as far as it will go (loaded or unloaded) it bogs down the tractor as though it is trying to raise the 3 point past the top....The hydraulic motor is bogging down the tractor. Is there a setting that got misaligned that is supposed to tell the three point to stop raising when it gets to a certain level?

I relied heavily on the Internet before I bought my new tractor. Things I was looking for include prices (MSRP and specials/promotions), equipment selection tools (how to size tractors, implements, etc), package deals (bundling a loader, mower, box scraper, or whatever), and "features that matter" (maybe things like quick attach bucket, position control, whatever). Also, testimonials were helpful in learning what people use specific size equipment for.<br>

Other things that are important include frequent updates, especially in regrads to used listings, a simple calendar that says when the site was last updated, and above all, RESPOND TO PEOPLE WHO EMAIL YOU -- clearly this one really bugs me as only about half of the dealers I emailed responded in a timely fashion (within 48 hours seems reasonable).<br>

forgive my newness to all this. i started looking at a yanmar, migrated to kubota and wound up looking at kiota for a dk30, but am also drawn for some reason to a nh tc30 or tc33. recently purchased 30 acres (8 to cut, the rest mostly forest) and in the next month or so want to make a final decision. have never sat on a tractor seat, but know i need something and don't want to make a mistake on the first tractor i buy.

Both are good machines, but I think the deciding factor as most have stated would be the dealer. My Kubota dealer was very honest and never put down another brand of machine whereas the Deere dealer in my area wouldn't even return a phone call. If you take a poll here, most of the people would tell you the dealer was the deciding factor. Paying a little more for a good dealer could save you several thousand dollars down the road.
As far as the annoying crossbar on the 7800 & 2910 that someone referred to, it is no problem as long as your read the instructions. It is a little more difficult to refuel using a can but it gives added strength to the loader setup. I take my loader off every week to mow and haven't had any problems. The guy who is complaining about the crossbar on the loader is the same one who complained about removing the mid mount mower. Some people are not happy about anything.

As an option to the checker plate floor that Murt talked about, I made a C channel frame with a treated 2x8 floor. for my one ton. The wood is pretty light compared with the steel floor and the whole thing is light enough for a half ton truck. A headache rack made from square tubing in front gives it a nice look.

Another comment about the different decks. You will find that the 48" full floating deck disperses and broadcasts grass clippings over a large area from the chute. If you go with the 44" high-Vac deck and choose not to bag, the deck chute doesn't disperse the grass clippings much and puts them more in a row. I really hate that, since then you need for sure to pickup the clippings somehow.

With the exception of our friend Ken's little slide into the history books, you will generally find that tractor stability has more to do with the 'nut behind the wheel' than anything else.

Common sence and the 'pucker factor' (the backside stability gauge) will go a long way towards keeping an operator and machine safe. If it feels uncomfortable, STOP and find a different way or approach to it.

Most importantly, DON'T RUSH, a gopher hole or rock on the side of a hill can be the difference between finishing the job and finishing you. It's faster to go slow than to have an accident.
