You know whats funny about this ken, Now the rolls are reversed. A short time ago I was complaining about the lemon deere I owed & you were defending, Now, I own a simular item that I have had vertually no problems with that you have. First I'd like to say that there is always a lemon in every batch of every item. Ford is no worse then deere & I love Ford. I own 4 ford trucks. 2 gas & 2 diesel & they have held up well to the abuse my crew & I have put them threw. I dont think those dirt raods you often travel help any either but I am sorry to hear ya got a bad egg :(!

Just for comparison sake, this link is where I bought my pressure washer. They have a direct drive 4000 psi 4 gpm unit with 13 hp Honda GX commercial engine for $999. For another $229 you can upgrade to a CAT pump and they will warranty the pump for six years. If your buddy doesn't want to spend the price premium for a belt or gear drive unit this might be an alternative.

myself being stuck in the backwoods where the neighbors sre all mosquitoes think the traps call more to you area than they delete. yes there still are rural areas in Florida :)

i agree with the feller that said i can get a tanker of off for that long green. oh one thing else about off and or deet. beside eating plastic it surely will strip all the nice finish off that quality firearm stock or your mothers heirloom cherry dining table. so beware.

skeeters i hear are also color sensitive? not sure but with encephilitis rampant here its worth looking into.

The local AccuWeather report says it's currently 87 degrees and sunny. Looking outside the sky is full of dark clouds, thunder and lightning, and it's pouring. I hope I didn't waste all the glyphosphate I sprayed today. ARGH!

after what i have seen recently (see post about kubota scam)
i would only bid on an item close enough to where i could actually go lay hands on the tractor.

i have bought and sold on ebay and never had any prob but we are not talking long green either. max about 500 bucks and this was firearm type stuff. 99.9% of weapons guys are honest i think. hey we are all armed :O

my other thought on it is. there are many nice folks doing good honest auctions but my luck is if i did bid and win it would be that 1 out of 100 bad apple with the adored tractor i lust for.

one other thought on ebay. if it were a long standing member from a forum dedicated to something . like this place, i would bid without hesitation

most big ticket items i have seen tractors boats etc. get to high in the auction frenzy inho. so if i cant fire her up and smell the diesel im out for the most part

I'm just a little farther along than you in the same type of project. I am getting ready to plant 20,000 sf of grass in very rocky soil and have worked it over pretty well. I only need to install the sprinkler system and then do the final grade before hydro-seeding.

First off, I highly recommend getting a box blade and landscape rake. My boxblade was invaluable for spreading soil and rough grading and there are many other uses I will have for it in the future as well. My landscape rake took some getting used to but also turned out to be a nice thing to have. The first time I used it the soil was pretty loose and I thought I had wasted my money on it since it seemed to collect as much dirt as rocks. When the soil compacted after a few rains however, I was able to collect the last remaining surface rocks and leave a very nicely contoured finish with the rake. It was level enough to be planted right then but I needed to till in some amendments to the soil first which leads me to my next to recommendations.

First, make sure there is some moisture in the ground before working it. When I tilled yesterday the ground was very dry and I was left with a fluffy mess of dirt. Now I need to run a sprinkler to get some moisture in it so I can grade it again and get it somewhat compacted. Second, I recommend getting a soil test of both the new and old soil. After investing as much as you will in your yard you don't want to discover that your soil is out of balance and can't support a nice lawn. Some deficiencies can easily be treated after planting grass but some cannot. In my case I had to add phosphrous to the soil which I was told is almost impossible to increase the phosphorous level of the soil without tilling it in before planting.

Other than that I don't know what else to tell you. It is pretty remarkable what you can do with the box blade/FEL combo. Add the landscape rake to that and I think you've got everything you would need to get that lawn planted. A harrow or skid or chain link fence section might be nice to get a good final grade as well but not necessary in my opinion with the landscape reake. Just remember to make multiple passes in different directions and try to get it as level as possible. You may want to run a sprinkler if it doesn't rain much to both help compact the soil and also to show where the water puddles up and you need to level more. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks to all!!! Looks like I'll just keep the rod extended and get some JD yellow to mark level. By the way (Hardwood) seen your tractor pictures, how do you like the hard top canopy mounted on your ROPS. Do you find it adequate for sun protection and how is it in the snow??

I'm a little tired and the end of the week, but to run through a power beyond circuit, you always need to exhaust the valve to a reservoir. Each valve in the circiut needs input, power beyond, and exhaust for the circiut to work. The exhaust port from any valve in the circuit always goes directly to the reservoir. I'm not sure I understood exactly what you were going to do, but it seems like you are running pump pressure through the valve without an exhaust tie to the reservoir. You never run valve exhaust through the circuit, or in other words, you cannot run output from one valve to the input of another. Did I understand you correctly. When I get home, I will look at this again.

I found the twin pedal of the JD HST transmission more comfortable than Kubota's HST treadle pedal, and the loader joystick better positioned for long sessions of loader operation. Still, if the JD dealer was awful and the kubota dealer was great I could have gone the other way. It really boiled down to best dealer for me. After a year and 100+ hours I haven't been the least bit disappointed with my choice.

Thanks for the information. I called Corriher and they were $600 higher ($19,400). I guess my local dealer is quoting me a pretty good price. I'd still like to know what MSRP is on NH tractors.

My 4700 is the same way, since ~300 hours (now has 550) I use the reverse pedal as the brake and doing that stops it from creping on the flats or gentle slopes. (BTW same type Hyd fluid since it was new)

Hi - thanks for the reply. I was comparing the three tractors mostly on price and the Kioti was in the running mostly because it has higher capabilities for not much more
money than the BX23 or the GC2310. If it was the same amount of money as the compact tractors from JD, Kubota, Massey etc. then I would probably not be looking at it. I just went to a dealer in N.H. this morning who is a Massey/Kioti dealer and he claims he wont be able to get any Kiotis for months so it may be a moot point since I am looking to buy before that.

Murf, Thanks for getting back to me. Looks like Rhino makes nice rugged stuff. Nice box blade too. I think it's the one that Deere sells with their name on it for the 110. I was thinking the same thing about the hydraulics. Deere says that their system can't be field installed.I believe it can but thats besides the point. Like you say, use the existing lines and make your own controll. I guess I'm getting like too many people today, if you can't buy it, do with out. It looks like their rear blade would work for ditching at least on roads that where ditched and have filled in over the years. Thanks for the link and the info.

I can understand your frustration especially if you asked the dealer to include and verify all the components required to install this hoe to your tractor. However.......... this is a big purchase and it is also in my opinion a responsibility that falls in part on the buyer to follow up and verify as well. I would strongly suggest logging on to the JD Parts website and looking up the required parts and printing out the parts diagram so as to make you fully armed with the correct information when you return to the dealer. Otherwise the dealer may have you making a 3rd trip to buy more parts he should have included. The dealer salesman has sold the big ticket item and the rest of the installation parts most salesman could care less about. A sharp salesman would have sat you down with himself AND a knowledgable parts man and/or shop tech to ensure you got all the components you need. "Let the buyer beware". Indeed this is an unfortunate reality although the deal salesman should not have let this happen. Hope you are able to get this all straight. Good luck and count to 1,000 before blowing your top. At least until you get all the parts you need. ;o)
