I just bought a new 03' 4110 gear drive with loader and mid-mount mower. What I didn't realize (neither did the salesman) was that the pto is single stage. Hence, when you touch the clutch in a tight spot, you stop the mower. Not the end of the world but a pain none the less. I have a quote to move up to the 04' 4110 Hyd. Another $2700 bucks. Any thoughts

Tom,
You may be right about the New Holland issue, whole different ballgame if not in USA! You can probably get the big Perkins or even the Chinese engine. I have seen that there is an Foton importer in Austrailia, a posted the link below. You might want to find out if they can help you with parts if you need them.

Pics might help? Not sure but guessing you are talking about the injector pump on the side of the engine, there is a fitting with a plastic cover that is the oil drain, the breather, if it at the top rear of the pump, is the oil fill. If you are getting diesel out of here, you may have a problem with the inj. pump? but I am way out on a limb because I'm not sure these are the parts you are describing. You might be able to change the oil in the Inj pump and see how long before it gets diluted/overfull with diesel. I don't know your warranty situation on that tractor or any Agricat because of the bankruptcy.

Generally, It is less costly to replace the whole pump than have it rebuilt here in the states. but I wouldn't replace it till it totally failed, just change the oil often. (it is only a few onces).

Then again, this may not have anything to do with your problem.

If anyone gets an email from Ebay asking to verify you account info, don't do it, it's someone trying to get your pass words and the use of your account. I get an email every other day, they say if not verified in 24 hrs they will close my account. I sent a copy to Ebay and they sent me a notice it was a fraud.

There is a book....its called 'Compact Tractor Buying and Basics' and its a darn good intro to CUTs, implements and most everything in between. It would be a great intro for new salespeople.

Thanks for the post. I have actually bought a tractor now, and so far (only acouple of weeks now) I am pretty happy with it. I bought a TC33DA with a 72" rear discharge midmount mower. And a 60" bush hog. IT preforms very well. I do like how the driver platform allows more visiblilty around the tractor on the NH than the JD. I looked at the Kubota's and they just didn't sit well for me. I know that they are a great tractor, but I just wasn't comfortable on it. The JD was by far the most comfortable.

I guess another big thing that NH had was 1.9% financing.

Hi:

I appreciate the responses. I just had too much trouble believing that there was a serious problem in such a young tractor. Also, the service guys were not confident what the problem was and I wasn't willing to go on a fishing expedition at my expense, especially since the machine works just fine.

THe MF 205, 210, 220 and Allis Chalmers 5015 & 5020 were all built by Hinomoto. No idea what the equivalent Hinomoto model was. I believe the MF205 was the same as a Hinomoto E18D.

I had the same problem on my 7305. There is a thread already started on 3-PT problem on a cub cadet. I cleaned/lubed mine up and the problem went away and has never been back. I periodically (once a year) lube up the linkages to make sure that they don't start sticking again.

I had a Kubota 2650 to manage 68 acres. It was too small. I'm looking at the L3400 which is 34 hp and should be about right. The problem is that they want around $15,000 with a loader on it. Sounds high but these things will last forever and a loader sure comes in handy. I agree that the JD 790 is too small. The JD 990 is the right one but they want around $12,500 just for the tractor. A nice used one would be fine. If you buy from a dealer they mark them up high. You might try ebay if there are no good ones in your area. I have had good luck at ebay.

Regarding 2WD vs. 4WD, if you are going to get an FEL 4WD is almost a must have. With 2WD when you load the bucket up with material the center of gravity will shift forward, unloading weight from the rear tires and reducing traction.

Most Yanmar tractors have a serial number either stampped into the housing, or on a plate on the side of the transmission housing,on the left side of the tractor (as you're sitting on it) Some are right below the gearshift, others are toward the back of the tractor seemingly hidden behind the fender.

The Yanmar serial number usually begins with the model number. For instance a serial number that reads "YM3110 -xxxxx" would be a model 3110 tractor.

I recently had two Cub Cadet 1720 tractors, but fixed up and sold the first one. I noticed when I ran it (right before selling it) that the mower deck seemed to vibrate more than it used to. Now, I've fixed up the second one for my wife to use, but the sway-bar (that's what I'm calling the bracket mounted between the front of the mower deck and the front of the tractor) was way too tight (too long). I'm pretty sure I got these sway-bars mixed up, and they must not have been the same! I figured (wrongly) that two tractors with the same model number would have identical parts! Wrong. The deck is identified as 46" LT Deck 446190 49LT, SN 288030. Can anyone tell me what the proper distance between the front holes and the back holes (center-center) in this sway-bar should be for this tractor? Thanks!
