For what it is worth, I looked at JD, NH and Kubota today, a Saturday. The Kubota dealer had about two other people looking besides me. I was the only person at the NH dealer the whole time I was there (about an hour) and at the JD dealer there were probably a dozen or more people there, either looking at new equipment or other business. I have been looking for about a month and I always come back to the JD. It is a little more money (especially with the attachments), but I feel like it will be worth it in the long run. Actually, by the time I priced everything out you could throw a hat over the total. I was looking at the NH35DA, the Kubotal L3430HST and the JD4410eHydro. The interesting thing is that the FEL was less on the JD than the other two--by over a $1k on the NH and about $700 on the Kubota. That made up some slack on the approx. $800 difference in base price. Actually, I concluded that they are all probably strong and reliable tractors, but in the end I wanted to be with a good dealer and I have had green twice (small garden tractors), and I have never had a problem--I mean never. I bought my first one on the recommendation of a fried in California--he had one sitting in his garage that he had since 1958, and it still "ran like a Deere." I hope my luck holds up.

I couldn't really find a category for this question but I know there are tons of people on this board that will have a great answer for me so I thought I'd post it here. I'm looking to get a portable air compressor for various tasks around the house. I plan to use it mainly for nail guns, impact wrenches, and general stuff like that. However, I would also like to be able to run a die grinder and roatary sander off of it if possible and I'm sure there are other tools that I will want to use in the future as well. I guess I'm just wondering what size I should get if I'm trying to balance portability, versitility and of course price. I'd like to keep the price of the compressor around $300 but definately not more than $500. Most of what I see in that price range is ~27 gallons, 5 peak HP and put out 4.0 CFM at 90 psi. Is that enough or should I look bigger or limit my uses to non-continuous running tools? Thanks.<br>

I bought a BX23 a couple months back. Don't use it to much but it's there when I want it. No regrets on the BX23 but I do regret buying it from the dealer that I did.

Kubota dealers other than where I bought it have provided me better service.

My BX came with bar tires even after I had inquired about turf tires. I have less than one acre with about half of it lawn.

After I got the BX I quickly saw that the turf tires were badly needed. My dealer refused to make the exchange even though the bar tires were brand new.

I called around and another dealer has agreed to swap my tires and wheels out. Doesn't say much for Bobcat Central in Stockton, Ca.

To all who helped and advise me a few months back on my starter problems. I got a manual and took starter off and checked it out nothing was broken worn out only gummed up something terrable. I cleaned and blew out with air greased where needed lightly and put back on cranked first time. I appreaciate your help but looks like a good cleaning was all that was needed can't believe it but it worked. Till next time thanks to all.

After careful consideration of costs and all of your input, I thought it best considering the grade I have with the driveway, to go with the JD front blade for snow removal and dirt grading, also changed my Turf Tires to R4's before delivery. Thanks so much for all your suggestions and help! Happy tractoring!!

Just wrap a chain throught the lift arms of the cutter and through the frame , or over the axle or through the rim on the tractor. I wouldn't worry too much about the cutter vanishing by itself, itis probably harder to steal than the tractor as a whole. You need 3-4 guys to lift it and place it in a truck or on a trailer. Between disconnecting it, and hefting it away, that's pretty risky just for a cutter. If it were some expensive contractor type implement for construction EQ, that might be more tempting.

Many people around me has tractor and compact tractor EQ in plain view and I haven't heard of any thefts. Even the JD dealer has no real security and his tractors and implements stay put. I have heard of construction EQ disappearing though from a local guys lot, but that's probably from past employees.

Due to space concerns, I have the tractor, RM, RFM, BB, and weight box all partially out of sight behind the house, but hardly "secured". So far no problems and I don't expect any.

I am going to make some calls about hiring someone at least to do around the pond and the dam itself, it's just too steep. We are in the HOT South and there is a Belarus dealer about an hour f/here, so it prolly will come down to that, sigh.

Tom, I found that filter in the book as it was getting dark - it's under the seat. You've got to raise the entire seat "piece" to get to it, but we will. We determined flow thru the whole system by using the levers and it was a good, strong flow always, if that's what you meant. I don't think there's a lever to switch between high and low. This thing is complicated and the book is limited in info/explanation. It's written in English and Russian, and it's like someone sat this Russian guy down, he talked, they interpreted and then typed, only they were not as familiar as he on tractors, lol. They tried to explain it to us though. Needless to say hubby has cussed it many times. I like the tractor myself.

I'm thinking something in that control valve is worn out? The book said something about the right sided line going/coming f/the power cylinder was what was used to direct flow for lift, or something like that. Well, it's getting fluid too, so....maybe a gear in that control valve is worn out, does that make sense? Prolly not, but you know what I mean; however, it was working fine until I ran it dry.

Mike I got the SR185 unit---the shipping to near Seattle was around $500.00--they shipped it to a small local trucking company who called me when it was there---I sent the Mrs. in the truck, they loaded it with a fork-lift, she drove it home, and I unloaded it with the FEL. It is so heavy duty compared to what else I've seen I don't expect any problems. Even with the shipping it was still a bargain compared to anything I found locally.

My 7205 does the same thing, I have less than 300 hours. It did it since new. I run a mid-mount deck and it will only do it when I push in the clutch to disengage the deck, and then just for a couple of seconds until the deck stops spinning.
I wouldn't worry about it, I don't. I don't have the service manual, but I would say there is a one-way sprague that slips (clicks) and won't allow an implement to input torque to the system.

Av8r - I recommend you foam fill the rear tires only & possibly even whell wieghs if you still feel ify on the slopes of your property..the more rear wight the marryier!

I would recommend a dual hydro unit. You get reverse. Belt drives are cheaper for a reason. Hydro's are pricy but very nice, easy to control and SAFE on hills. I purchased an Exmark Viking dual hydro 36" fixed deck (not cheap) for the steep ground I can not safely mow with my BX2230 / 60"mmm It is VERY nice. Husqvarna gets a good nod for easy deck height adjustment, however i did not care for the controls.

R4's are almost standard equipment around here any more. I don't think I've ever saw a midsized compact with R1's, and turf's are getting to be quite rare. the first CUT I ever drove the dealer sent out a 4000 series Deere with a 3pt. finish mower. I was mowing a road ditch till I encountered a bit of water in the grass and I was stuck. It's awfully hard to find tracks in the lawn behind R4's unless it's super wet. I've heard of dealers being hard to trade with if you're trading in a tractor with turf's, seems nobody is interested in a used compact with turf tires. Frank.

I have a 48" landpride rotory cutter on my B7500. Kubota recommends a 42" model but mine has no problem with the 48"

In the 48" size get a woods or landpride. Nobody makes a heavy duty unit in that size. 60" can be light, med, or heavy duty.

Well thats tractors is nothing. I got a early 1964 round fender 3 speed 110. Even rarer. I paid $300 for it. Gottenn offers up to $1500 for it as is not running(needs a battery) Also have a 1965 110 round fender with sleeve hitch and lift spring. Also very rare with the sleeve hitch.

I noticed the JD site has prices on the new Twenty Series tractors. Assuming an equal discount as on the Ten Series, it looks like a 43hp 4120 will run about $18,600 base price w/eHydro and R4 tires. MSRP is $24,086 and I am basing the net price on recent prices on the 4310. Probably not accurate, but at least the Twenty Series might be doable for those with a few extra $$.

I have a Yanmar 2cyl tractor(small). It doesn't have any labels on it and the seller was the previuos owner's widow who knew nothing about it. Anyone know how can I determine the model so I can get manuals/parts etc.<br>
