With all the experience on this site, isn't there someone who has had to free up a sticky throttle lever? Can anyone help a couple 7800 owners out here? These things are really hard to set right.

Sounds a little high. Not sure what part of the country you are from, but it might be an idea to get a price for a new B7510, and look at the savings from the financing that is being offered. I would guess you can get a better deal than $10k for a 7300 with almost 700 hours on it. Think of those 700 hours as about 40,000 miles.

You've had a tractor, probably wouldn't like the idea of not having one at all. Need to size up your needs. Will you use it for anything besides mowing? How much lawn? Could you do without a tractor at all? I would guess not to the last question, but don't know your situation.

You can get a rear finish mower that fits the BX series nicely. I prefer the rear finish mowers because of their ease to mount and remove. Depends on whether your lot will allow for a proper mowing pattern to allow the RFM to work well for you.

I would trade for the BX. For the love of everything holy, you can't be without a tractor at all!

Hiya,
I have owned a Scorpion (Tym) now for 3 years..the T290 model.
Bought with loader, disk, and tiller and backblade.
Never had a lick of problems..winter or summer.
I plant in summer and snow removal in winter here in Michigan.
The Kabota motor IS bulletproof, trans is smooth and I picked them all up NEW for less than $17,000.00
Would I do it again??..hell yes..
And would recommend to others as well.
My uncle owns a Deere 30hp and he ended up calling me to bring mine down and pull for his farm.
He just bought his and could not pull his multihead plow..
My Scorpion did..He is now returning it as the dealer to seal the deal gave him a 30 day satifaction guarantee on it.
Then he is headed for my dealership.
And my boss owns a 33 hp New Holland and he found mine pulled the tandem trailer full of crating easier than his at a higher gear than his..
That should tell you about the Kabota motor.
My uncle mentioned the only one he found that felt the same HP as this was his Massey (Which he wished he didn't sell for this Deere) and I agree..the massey seemed another great buy with the power needed and quality behind it.

I mow with R4s all the time. As long as I remove the loader to keep the front end light, I don't have too much of a problem unless it is very wet. I had turf tires on my last tractor with the same results. If I mowed with the loader on with turf tires, I had the same problem with the front tires when turning. I really don't see much of a difference on my lawn between the two tires for mowing. I certainly prefer the R4s as a general purpose tire and they work fine for mowing.

I'm in Western Massachusetts, on the New York, Vermont border. Deen quoted a price of $14,670 for a 7800 with 402 loader. A 7510 with 302 loader was $11,690. Shipping was $1700 -- but they did say it would be reduced if they could schedule another load in the area.<br>

To compare, Sharon Springs Garage in Troy, NY quoted me $14,400 for the 7800 with FEL and $12,500 for the 7510 with FEL. Salem Farm Supply in Salem, NY quoted $15,500 for the 7800 with FEL and $12,700 for the 7510 and FEL.<br>

I should clarify my last post -- I had only talked to Salem when I emailed Deen Implements. I was surprised at how low Sharon Springs prices were. Hope this helps.

I have a late model 970 with about a 1,000 hours on it. The dealer sold me a LX-5 cutter as the largest the tractor can handle. I'm concerned now that some of our field is terribly rough and the LX5 too light duty to handle some of the wear and tear.<br>

Could the 970 handle a MX-5 and do I need to be concerned?<br>

Bright side, sell that expensive Great lakes property and buy a home on the Tennessee River/Dam system. You could live like a King for what you pay in taxes now. $180 to $200,000 would buy a nice lake home in Spring City, Tn.

About the only thing that comes to mind is that the dealer may have adjusted the shift linkage and caused the problem. Otherwise, that problem sounds like it will be an expensive one to fix.

I've got a single axle trailer (3500# axle) I want to use it to haul a pallet of sod. I figure the weight of the trailer is approx. 800# which would leave 2700# for the sod. Anyone know if this is enough weight carrying capacity, especially if the sod is wet?

I went with the 4410 because I got an unusually good deal on it from a friend who sells them. Where is a heads up competitive choice; I would have gone with the 4310 hands down. There is not enough additional performance to justify the extra $1,500 in my opinion. Same goes for the 4710 vs. the 4610. The 4610 is the better value buy.

I have sent another email off to Kubota asking for the product data sheets or .pdf files on UDT and Super UDT. Might take a while to get them although; they were pretty fast with the MSDS sheets.

That sounds like a great price. Machinerylink dot com says that a 98 L2900GST 4WD in good condition without attachments is worth around $12000. At 760 hours it's just getting broken in.
