Ken, although I have never tried it I do know several people who have installed remote control 'kill switches' for when they are working alone, but away from the operator's seat, things like PTO winching, or running a log-splitter.

They sell remote controlled solenoids, similar to the keylees entry units for your vehicle, for 'switchless' installation of high-power amplifiers, fog lights, etc. These units are inexpensive, the good ones are only $50 the cheapies are $25 so even as an experiment it's not very painfull.

They use the radio controlled solenoid to activate the electric fuel shut off on the engine. Pushing the remote control button does the same as the key, but works from up to a 100' away.

Cheap insurance I suppose.

Bought new March 2004.<br>
Mow for 4 hours. After mowing for 2 hours the fan or exhaust starts burning my foot.<br>

As far as I know the speed control is the same on both models and from my experience, very easy to use.

They changed the FEL dismount to make using a front blade/blower/broom much, much easier to use on the 2230.

Problem Solved the tractor had a problem in the priority valve and the dealer took one off of another New DK 65 he had on the lot. He said it was the earlier type valve what ever that means. So I am back up and running.

This is a general question mainly for you dealers out there, but anyone else with experience. I love my BX1500, but I am interested to find out what common problems have been encountered now that the model has been out for a while. So far, the only thing I've had happen was a broken air cleaner canister bracket. No biggy. Dealer said it was a known problem. What other issues have you seen?

It takes me about 3 minutes to disconnect the MMM on my BX and about twice that to reinstall it. Very easy after a little practice. I take it on and off pretty much any time I am using a rear implement, just to avoid a high center situation if things get sloppy. I've left it on a few times while using a dirt scoop which seems to help counterbalancing. I have never taken the blades off myself though, had the dealer sharpen them during the 50 hour service.

We have customers that always get service manuals. We also have some that got them but yet feel they are not for them as they bring them in for us to help them understand what they are doing better. Often when this is happening they are trying to make something work differently then it it was built to which causes more trouble.

Realistically, masking off and painting the entire affected panel is probably easier than trying to "patch paint" a small section. It will look much better even if the paint is a near perfect match. Just spend a little time with surface prep and masking.

Millstone If your looking for a hoe for your TC33D check out the Rhino hoe. As I said before Rhino makes the OEM hoes for NH. The only differance is the cylinders are black instead of blue and the decals and serial # badge are Rhino not NH. Everthing else is the same. Oh except price I got mine $1800 less than the best NH quote. It took the dealer two hours to install it the first time and now with some practice under my belt I can mount and dismount in minutes.
$1800 can go a long way for some other Implements.

Yes, with my rops down I have around 2" of clearance. I cant believe I had no forsight at all and decided to cheap out on the building especially the doors. Oh well live with it and build a bigger one asap!

In 5 years or less I will be adding on to my house in preperation for my move. My wife wants everything in this retirement house (that was the deal, she will move as long as she gets what she wants in the new house) I guess I could just add a little more to the garage that will be attached and happen to put in a tall door? Hmmm Its a plan! Might just have to wall that section off too just wouldnt want her to accidently pull up too far and nick my tractor!

Just want to thank everyone for their advice. My Cub Cadet (782) is running again.

After 3 weeks of mowing my 5 acres with a 22" Sears push mower (purchased back in 1987), I appreciate my little Cub Cadet even more now.

I still have one small problem. . .

The hydro fluid and filter have been changed, but I still have the same problem. During the first 10 minutes of running the tractor, the hydro transmission feels jerky. I have to drive it slow during this time. After that, the problem goes away.

Any suggestions?

I have never been to GreenBays stadium either!! LOL Been here my entire life! I saw a game when they used to play some of them in Milw. but you have a hard time getting tickets at GreenBay unless you pay bookoo bucks (to me 20 bucks is too much!) LOL. When I used to drink they were fun to watch anyway but since I quit drinking and the bar scene years ago, I dont waist my time too often on a HUNTING SUNDAY! (every one in the fall) watching over paid men whine about who makes more. All in fun is right buddy

Your tractor should have been delivered with a spreader bar installed in the three point hitch lift links. This needs to be in place to prevent this problem. If your box blade came installed on the hitch when you bought it, maybe they forgot to bring it along. If an implement is not on the hitch, the spreader bar needs to be on.

Funchy, Talk to your dealer about filling the tires. You will not need to remove the calcium--just leave it in and do your stuff.

harvey: thanks for your reply. It wasn't that I didn't want to mow. I wasn't able to all season until now. Just this week I finally got a decent tractor complete with 60" mowing deck, so cutting it is no longer the problem. I am just worried when I'll be leaving behind such a huge volume of plant matter when I mow.

beagle: I appreciate your the tip; I will definitely look at the estate sweepers.

brokenarrow: Thanks for the idea about the fertilizer but I don't fertilize at all.

I'm going to keep looking at options for collecting grass. If nothing else all those clippings can do alot more good in my compost.

Everything worked out fine. I ordered the service manual and parts manual from a Long dealer. The manuals were good enough that I took it apart and fixed it my self. Works good again. The manuals cost just about $80.00 for the pair with shipping.
