Art may be right about the PTO clutch in theory, but very few people here seem to complain about electric PTO clutch problems. Art, do you have any numbers? I think there are bigger issues to worry about, like the quality of the dealer and how the tractor fits you. And, of course, the deal you get.

I contacted ATI regarding their Tatch-All coupler for attaching skidsteer implements to tractor loaders. They don't make a coupler for the JD410 loader because the additional weight would cut down too much on the loader performance. They suggested having a JD dealer weld JD410 attachment brackets to a tree digger/shovel to make it compatible with the JD410 loader. The shovels are available from several manufacturers such as SkidSteer Solutions, Bobcat, and DirtWorks to name a few. I'm checking with my JD dealer now. If anyone has welded JD410 loader-compatible brackets on skidsteer implements, I'd like to hear from you how it worked.

Your Right Murf, that is really what I want, my machine fixed. I can get hot headed, my record shows that. I am frustrated, angry, and dissapointed in this tractor and the company. My dealer, hell, he lost his farm trying to make things right, and Mazama and Lenar keep doing business as usual. I have a right to get angry, the hardest thing is being able to get angry at the right people. For those that know me as a person, I am a good person and would give you the shirt off my back if you needed it. I am naive to think that because I am that way, everybody should be. I get angry when I know that I have been wronged and there is a mountain of red tape to go through to make it right. I did not mean to offend those that tried to help me, but to those that think that Mazama and Lenar are not responsible, well, I am sure I can come up with a few choice words to them. But, this board did do its job, it did give me a place to vent, ambition to contact other sources and I hope all this did get through to those thinking about buying a new tractor from a new company. Maybe some more good will come of this. Thanks

Arcenic is no longer used in pressure treated wood. Or at least it is not supposed to be. Lowe's and Home Depot both sell the product.

Chief, have the FS110R myself. California requires such due to emission standards. You would like it. Lots of power at low rpm especially nice when feathering throttle for landscape trimming. Very quiet. Not heavy enough to bother me. Also have chain saw attachment for light tree trimming and hedge attachment. Both work well. Like all Stihl equipment bulletproof and "wants" to start right up and run all day.

This is all very helpful. Sounds like I might be better off hiring someone with some better equipment. I was hoping the cost I could save would offset the cost of a CUT that I need for a number of other smaller landscaping projects (does anyone see a wife's input on a CUT purchase seeping in here?). Just got a Hiomoto E 154, it has the S100 engine and 4 wheel drive. Was this a Massey or an Allis? If so what model. It was a nice thought for a present, but needa a little work. The seal< I think is leaking from the left front hub and I need to adjust the idle on it. It is trying to idle at 400rpm and the tach shows from 750 and down as being in the red so I figure it should be idling at 800.

I haven't notice any problem on downhills. The only time it even rolls is at low throttle. Otherwise, the engine holds the tractor. I was having problems with a delayed reaction when I let off of the forward pedal. This went away with the hydraulic oil change.

I have an '03 New Holland TC-18 2WD, Turf tires, 43 hrs, for sale. New $7,195 asking $5,000. Also, Howse 4' Brush Mower $350, Maschio 60" finish mower $800, Bush Hog 60" box blade $300 and DR 12HP Electric Start chipper $1500. All bought new last summer or this spring. Hi, it was probably yourself that sent me a picture of this machine. Very interesting machine. I hadn't seen a reverse steer before. Most of the chinese tractor manufacturers, don't make their own engines. Is that the only label that can be found on the machine? What is the specific engine model number? Assuming, you were unsuccessful with any Benye tractor dealers, another chinese tractor may contain the same or similar engine. You will have to compare though, because the chinese engine model numbers can be deceiving.

After running an engine that hot I would replace the thermostat that diverts the coolant to the radiator. Its a cheap part and may have been damaged during the "hot spell" it may subsequently reduce your current working temperature as well.

I've got the Cadet MMM and it is off right now and I can't quite remember how the lift works. I'm guessing it is attempting to lift too high. Have someone slowly lower and lift the mower while you peek underneath and see if any obstructions exist. If not, use a stop on your lift lever to restrict upward motion.

In "THEORY" the installation is the reverse of removal, but in practice it just doesn't work that way. Installation is almost a required two person job, as was stated before, one person can line it all up, but you need the "third hand" to get the center link pin installed. If the rest stands were better designed this shouldn't be necessary. I've tried various blocks of wood and shims and anything I can think of to help in the allignment, nothing seems to work.

I have found that if you split the driveshaft into its two pieces, attach the spline to the tractor, then roll the tractor, by hand, back to the catcher and slide the shaft together again. This is much easier than trying to get your hand down to the slpine locking collar after assembly. Now if I can only get that center pin in...

Tracer, yes air in the system will do exactly what you describe, and yes even a minute leak in the return line can cause a LOT of air to enter the system.

The good news is that something like that is usually a quick & (relatively) inexpensive repair. If you took it to the dealer he will certainly use factory parts, they can be a lot more money than the equivalent non-OEM part but that's the case with anything.
