Hi all. I am going to wire my garage with 110. Does anyone know how deep to bury the line into the ground? I live in ontario Canada, if that helps with code. Thanx!

I think you should be in the $8,000 - $9,000 range or lower. I researched the x70 series this winter, they were sold from 1989 to 1998. As a comparison, I bought a 1997 970 with 880 hours, 4wd, 440 loader and Woods 7500 backhoe for $12,000. The backhow needed new bushings and pins but the tractor is in very good shape.

I have a JD 970 and would be interested in the turf tires if you want to sell them separately. What are the tire sizes and price if you are interested? Do you have any pictures that could be loaded onto this site?

Getting Worse
Greetings all,

Well things have gone from bad to more bad. Now the booms will not move at all unless I hold the joystick in position for 5 to 10 seconds and the power steering is going too. Can a leak in The return hose behind the filter cause the system to do this? Seems pretty severe. The 3 point also is slow but I do not detect a major leak " oil on the floor". The Dealer just picked it up today so we $hall $ee what the damage i$. Ill keep you informed. Again Thanks. Tracer

jkporter, I am sure Art can get you whatever you need. Another source of parts and manuals for older Kubota's is Tractor Smart. Ask for Ronnie Bowman. He was very helpful to me when I had my L245. Those are fantastic little diesel tractors. I am sure you will be very satisfied with it.

Since you specified a backhoe; I would strongly recommend the John Deere 4115. Mark I am sure can cover all the details of this machine as compared to others of this size with a hoe on the back.

Murf, the farm is fenced and cross fenced. Looks to have been done fairly recently although I have been having to put up with thieves steeling fence posts. I have been thinking about leasing out for some cattle. Good fertilizer return as well. ;o)

It could be that the 790 and the 990 are 100% manufactured in Japan. Only the 4010, 4110, and 4115 of the 4000 Ten Series tractors are totally manufactured in Japan the rest are assemble in the plant in GA.

Two years ago I bought a TC33D and did not want to mow my lawn with it so I was faced with the same question. What to buy to mow with? There are many great mowers that are good and fast especially the zero turns, but that is all they do cut grass. I opted for another tractor a JD G100 25HP with a 54" deck, not only does it cut grass but I can use it for many other uses like pull the manure spreader or a wagon that I am loading or empting with the bigger tractor. I can leave on implement on the 33 while pulling something else with the other. Just my solution good luck.

It doesn't sound too bad, I would think if you are buying that many implements, the dealer could do a little better.
My dealer filled my tires with antifreeze for free. I would suggest filling those tires especially if you plan on doing a lot of loader work. I mow with mine and as long as your ground isn't marshy it will be fine. I notice if I try to mow after a good downpour the tires will compact the lawn a little.

I don't know about the expert part. ;o) I do as you mention with the 1,000 rpm cool down and warm up only I may set the rpm aroudn 1,100 to 1,200 rpm. Not good to let them idle for prolonged periods. This pretty much follows what is recommended in my owner's manual. Best bet would be to check your manual and follow what is recommended. The cool down period is critically important with turbo charged diesels even more so but a good practice with the naturally aspirated variety.

What is a good price on a 1997 Kubota B1550 20 hp with rototiller and a 4' bucket and 1200 hours. The unit has new ag tires, R-1. The unit was 1st used on a golf course. The 2nd owner used it for a landscaping project. The unit is reported to have no hydraulic or oil leaks. It starts right up and burns no oil.

I have a question regarding the proper shutdown of the CK-20HST. After say an hour of working the tractor, what is the suggested shutdown of the engine. Idle for five minutes at around 1000 rpms, shut it right off after bringing to an idle, or another method? I've heard some say it is okay to turn it right off and others say to let it idle around 1000 rpms for about five minutes before turning off the key. Or does it even matter?<br>

I bought a Toro 4 cycle For $158.00 and returned it before use. My old Homelite trimmer is 14 years old and still running. In my area we have these one day truck load sales put on by Cummins. (ie cumminstools.com) I can pick up a Homelite reconditioned 2 stroke for $49.99. I bought a bunch of them for the different places. Can beat it for the price.

I also use the red .105 line on the old Homelite. It is quite harsh on tree trunks unless you idle around them.

Stihl products. I use an electric Stihl wacker at my condo and love it. I also have Stihl electric and 2 stroke gas blowers. I highly recommend any Stihl product. They are slightly higher priced but consider them premier.

Alfster, if the dealer gave you a high trade-in price value, then he is going to high ball you on the new machine price. Best bet is for you to sell your 425 out right yourself and make you best deal straight up with the dealer.
