yooperpete, the place is about 314 acres of which I estimated about 100 acres is in open or fenced in fields. It has not been cleared in over 2 years and I am at a point of either letting it go for good or cutting it back. I wanted some open land for horses or cattle if I decide to go that route. For the time being I need to at least keep the entrances and road/trails on the property open.

I too am from Vermont and I have been doing some pricing.
Try Hendees in Middlebury or Yandow in Ferrisburgh.
I got some excellent prices at Hendees and felt it was very comparable to what pricing I have been reading about here.

If your soil is really rocky, the PHD might not work so well. The backhoe with a smallish bucket will dig your post holes.

Petus, the only way I can see you bending a stabilizer with a ground-engaging implement is to turn a corner with it still in the ground, if you do that you bend something everytime, on ANY machine.

A stabilizer is jst there to keep the 3pth centered, it's not intended, nor will it, take the force of the machine turning with an implement still in the earth.

Cat. 1 is a SIZE standard, not a load standard, it only sets out width and height, not capacity.

All mechanisms and linkages on anything are designed with a design capacity in mind. If your tractor is about 30hp that is all the implement needs to be able to handle.

If you can get it, Red Oak is a much better choice. It is stronger and stands up better.

As for treatment, saturate them in Thompson's water Seal or similar, it's just basically parafin wax in solution, no nasty chemicals.

The most important thing you can do to extend the life of the floor is the maintenance, keep it clean, lift out or stand up the mats whenever possible to let it breathe and dry. Also, park the trailer on a hard dry surface, gravel, asphalt or concrete not grass that will hold moisture near the wood.

Any injector/pump service shop will be able to do this for you.

It's not the sort of thing for the average person to experiment with.

Turning up the amount of fuel is just one part of making extra horsepower, you also need to get more air into, and back out of the engine too.

GLalonde, no I never lived in that area, but I do work all over the place and have done many jobs in the Ottawa area.

When you're working away from home and your own repair shop you quickly learn where to go for parts and people who know what they are talking about.

A word of caution if you have never been to a Princess Auto store, they have lots of neat stuff and it VERY easy to come out of the store with a LOT MORE than you went in to get.

If possible take the peice you need to connect to a small sketch of how it fits, they will make up exactly what you need for you no charge, you just pay for the parts.

Right you are. Maintenance is the key. Keep changing that filter and hydro fluid per the manual. If you could see the inside of my old housing you would realize just how important that is. Oh and don;t forget to clean the screen when you drain the fluid. BTW, the hydro was $800 but the labor was another $600.

Hello, well as you may already know, I did not go to Indiana this weekend, my wife had a better way of making me feel better, but it does not mean that I am going to let this go. I have contacted several people in Michigan to state my complaint, red tape is a mess, and of course, Lenar knows this, the consumer really is hindered by the legal stuff, but I do know, that speaking the truth is not a crime, I guess you could say having four tractors that were defective is bad, but to actually be able to see it, well, then that would be like the dress of Monica. <br>
To park it in front of a dealership after it has refused to work on a tractor that they sell, but did not sell that particular tractor, well that is bad business. But obviously, if they wanted business, then they would have agreed to work on it. Everyone says find a shadetree mechanic or one that wants business on the side, well, if the Dealers of Lenar wont work on it, then people need to know that these tractors are so bad that their own dealers dont want to work on them, and that means that there must be something more to these tractors than what is being said by the Lenar company. All I can see that Lenar is saying is that we have a tractor to sell you and that your dealer is totally comitted to any repairs or warranty work until you die. Even if he goes bankrupt, or commits suicide for picking Lenar tractors to sell, he is to repair it. If not him, then his surviving relatives or friends. If not them, then I dont know who, just dont call us at Lenar and tell us your problems, besides, you were the goof that bought the tractor, so it is your problem, not ours, we have enough of our own problems to sell without having to work on yours.<br>
What is my goal? To let everyone know the trouble I have had with this tractor and this company. To let them know that the true value of a tractor is not in the sale price but the support after the sale. All tractors break, new or used, they break, the value comes from how easy it is to get the problem fixed. <br>
Several people has asked what about my dealer, Well, like I said, I had my wires crossed when I said he was selling Kamas the truth is that he went under and in a big big way. When a man loses all due to an adventure in selling junk Lenar tractors, what more can he do?????

I purchased it from Brenda at Carroll's Equipment located in Dameron. I did check at several other locations but wanted to go with Carroll's due to establishing a customer relationship with a local dealer instead of one outside the county. Yes I did negotiate the price. I tried to get it lower but that was the best they would do. As of last week they did have about five JD 2210�s in stock.

I looked at two brands� I was considering the GC2300 from Massey Ferguson. But, I didn�t choose either the GC2300 or the BX2230 due to the fact they didn�t have a tech. I personally think every tractor should have a tech. I did email Massey Ferguson and Kubota to see it they had plans of adding a tech in the feature and only Massey Ferguson was considering it for the GC2300 in late 2005 for the 2006 model.

Big Jim,

I have called the product manager once and he has not responded. I am thinking he probably hopes I will go away.
I will call him again since he promised me something about two weeks ago. I have found coming off to be real easy. I have found when putting it back you have to put the center pin in place and the fight with the two side pieces.

I take the loader on and off in a couple of minutes. I wish I could say the same for the bagger. I will check with the Kubota person again.

After 20-25 hours the Jinma chipper suffered a failure in the feed roller drive mechanism. The feed roller shaft has a square male end that drives it. A female square socket fits over it. This connection failed, the socket wallowed out and cocked which caused the square end on the feed roller to round off. The dealer responded on Memorial day and is meeting me half way on parts, so a new feed roller and associated drive shaft parts will cost $60 shipped. Unfortunately they are not in stock and will take one to two weeks to arrive. This connection needs to be kept clean and well lubricated but there is no zerk fitting so it needs to be disassembled periodically to clean and grease. Apparently if it gets a little dirty the socket can stick and get cocked, as happened to me. The dealer recommended a small modification to drill a small hole through the socket and drive shaft and insert a cotter pin to prevent it from backing out. Makes a lot of sense and I will do that before using it again.

When I was shopping I compared the same two machines. I ended up with the JD 4310 because I liked the ergonomics a lot better AND the dealer was far better than the Kubota guy. However, if the JD dealer was awful and the Kubota dealer was great I could have gone the other way. I've got nearly 100 hours on it now and have zero regrets. It's a great machine.

A salesman at the local dealer told me JD has already demo'ed new versions of the 4000 CUT's for reps from dealerships. He said:<br>
- The top end is 4720 (?) and will be 53 hp<br>
- FEL's are all new<br>
- Lots of new standard features<br>
Wouldn't say when the public gets a taste. Anyone heard any more?<br>

I just got a cub series 2000 with a b&s 16hp v engine. the motor has a broken rod and it has no hood I dont know witch model it is. I am looking for info on this tractor and parts to fix it any help would be great. thanks<br>

Ok, the noise is (or was) the driveshaft shield going to the front axle. Quite loud actually. the PTO problem was a stuck spool right behind the solenoid.
