I'm interested in getting more information about the rake you describe. Any idea where to look? My york rake slow going, it quickly loads up and pushes up a pile of sand. It doesn,t take much to stop the tractor with loose sand under the wheels.

I assume you have a front pump & that it is leaking from the shaft seal. I know Yanmar had front pumps , but I couldn't find it listed in any of my loader books. I can probably get you a seal if you could give me the # off of it.

I had a similar problem with my fel on my 419 loader ended up to be a bad male hydraulic coupler and a bad female coupler on the loader hydraulic hoses related to the circuit in question.

Deere 42xx though 47xx are known for leaky panel gauges. The problem was supposed to be fixed when they brought out the -10 series.

I think I will probably go with the 5' King Kutter and a slip clutch for getting the fields cut and in shape and all the hard knocks and perhaps later on get the MX5 after I have the place cleaned up. I won't feel so bad trashing out a $550 King Kutter.

I agree with brokenarrow. I bought a TC 24DA with FEL in March for 14,400. For 18k I would look for a JD 4115 or Kubota 7800.

My guess would be that you are most likely in the ball park pressure you were after but the test pilot in me wants to know the pressure I suppose. ;o) I am a firm believer in what Ronald Reagan once said about the then Soviet Union and the missle disarmament treaty. "Trust but verify".

When I bought my dt 3000 they acted like a standard shift was something no one has ever attempted to drive. I said I like standard I can drive it, what do I need a cruise controll for when all ya do is pull on the throttle lever. They act like your from another planet. Tractors have sold like nothing else in the past few years, around here anyway, a ranch style house with a 1/4 acre lot and paved drive has a Kubota or JD in the garage with all the attachments.

Think about walking a mile in a soldier's, sailor's, marine's, airmans, or coastguardmen's shoes and then think about the tremendous contributions they have made in our and our nations behalf. I would not fill them out for the very reasons you mentioned. If you are accepting some kind of subsidy from the Forestry Service or NRCS; they can require you to fill out such questionaires. I am getting ready to run the learning curve on replanting after a clear cut hopefully in a month or so. Should be an interesting learning experience.

I just recently acquired my 4400 from my father-in-law's estate. I found about the same conditions when I changed the hydraulic oil. There was about teaspoon of metal shavings on the suction screen. The tractor has 400 hours on it and everything points to this being it's first oil change for the engine or transmission. Most telling was the paint run on the oil filter. I'm going to probably only run about 100 hours and change the hydraulic oil again and see if it cleaned itself up.

I install both OEM and the Woods on new units. I must admit Woods actually fits better with less adjustment, comes with the correct plumbing, and is better built.
